/u/MeishkaD said that my entry disappeared, so here it is again. I've deleted my previous entry now (after you said it disappeared), just to make sure it doesn't show up twice.

---

1.) Something that is grey. [Not on wishlist]

2.) Something reminiscent of rain. [Not on wishlist]

3.) Something food related that is unusual.

4.) Something on your list that is for someone other than yourself. Tell me who it's for and why. (Yes, pets count!)

This is for my classroom mostly. One of the projects the student's like to do is making board games. They like using various types of die, but when we made cardboard ones, they fall apart.

5.) A book I should read! I am an avid reader, so take your best shot and tell me why I need to read it!

I can't give too great a reference. This book is on my wishlist, as I've not read it, after all. It's supposed to be really funny though, with an interesting story. The downside is that getting the whole series is too expensive.

6.) An item that is less than a dollar, including shipping... that is not jewelry, nail polish, and or hair related! [Not on wishlist]

7.) Something related to cats. I love cats! (keep this SFW, you know who you are...)

These are pretty awesome.

8.) Something that is not useful, but so beautiful you must have it. [Not on wishlist]

I've wanted one of these for ages, but they're not useful enough to justify.

9.) A movie everyone should watch at least once in their life. Why? [Not on wishlist - I own it]

It's incredibly funny and almost everyone has seen the film it's based on. A lot of people have never even seen a parody movie, so it's a new genre to a lot of people and thus a new experience.

10.) Something that would be useful when the zombies attack. Explain.

A bit of a different item than normal. When the zombies attack, we're going to need to be well rested. Baseball bats and the like are common enough, but a good pillow is hard to find.

11.) Something that would have a profound impact on your life and help you to achieve your current goals. [Not on wishlist, as Amazon.co.uk item]

A book about learning to become a Primary School teacher. After my current teaching job, I want to go back and train as one in my home country.

12.) One of those pesky Add-On items. [Not on wishlist - the base game is on wishlist].

13.) The most expensive thing on your list. Your dream item. Why?

Playstation 4. It's not on my wishlist as I think anyone would ever buy it, but more to remind myself that it's region-free and only $400 in the US if I can get enough giftcards someday. In my home country it's about $550. The why is mostly Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy XV - both series which I've gained a lot of enjoyment from. There's also that some of my favorite series such as Disgaea are Playstation-exclusive.

14.) Something bigger than a bread box.

15.) Something smaller than a golf ball.

16.) Something that smells wonderful.

17.) A (SFW) toy.

18.) Something that would be helpful for going back to school.

(For reading digital textbooks on)

19.) Something related to your current obsession, whatever that may be.

Disgaea D2. My current obsession has been trying to convert my old Disgaea 3 save, which has 120 hours and my Disgaea 4 save which has 95 hours, so that I can use it on another PS3.

20.) Something that is just so amazing and awe-inspiring that I simply must see it. Explain why it is so grand. [Not on wishlist.. but it should be]

The toilet throne. It's amazing that someone has thought of it, if nothing else. Now you can feel like a Queen or King, while going to the restroom.

I'm probably too late, but some ideas!

The mug is a cute idea, I love these "Surprise Mugs"

We don't know which country you or she is from, but it might be nice to get hers something small from her country (or something from your country that's super distinct if she's very excited about living there).

For instance, if she is from Germany, you could get her some Hanuta -- I know when I moved away from home, it was very comforting to get reminders from there.

Or if she's from Belgium, Stroopwafels might be nice to go with tea! Just something small that represents her home.

As for relaxation items (which seems to me to be one of your best options seeing as your ultimate goal is to help her relax, right?), I have a few:

Gong for her desk at work?

A zen "Desktop Garden?"

A Buddha Board for work?

A little desktop fountain?

A diffuser for at home (SUPER relaxing, but you'd also need essential oils)?

Or even a necklace diffuser?

I've never run Carrion Crown, but a few ideas of mine to help out:

  • Get lots of incense. Depending on where you get it, it's generally like 6 sticks for a dollar or so at our cheapo stores. Burning it not only makes the game-area smell fantastic, but coupled with dim lighting, the smoke would create a cinematic vibe. You could easily do the same thing with a fog machine or one of those mist fountains

  • Candles are always a great addition, as well as any other types of lights, even stringing up halloween lights or something.

  • Ambiance tracks; Not just music. Wiring a laptop or something to a speaker set and layering your tracks with youtube videos like these is always a great effect.

Beyond that, I don't have a lot more advice, and I'm assuming the adventure path has tips on storytelling.

I bought the last one but it looks like they are back(for $3 more). Still, the shipping is free and was well packed in bubble wrap and the stone nicely polished. It definitely has a good side. These were flattering pics but it is clearly imperfect and not quite worthy of making tile, jewelry or whatnot. I think it was a great paperweight and conversation piece for the money.

Cheap is my budget too, so I feel ya!

Ok, if you're feeling DIY, you could do buy some cauldrons and make some flowers out of plastic bottles or netting and tea lights and spray paint them to match your theme.

Another DIY project could be painted mason jars with tea lights inside, or with some of the DIY flowers from above inside.

If you're not a DIY person (completely understandable. I love DIY stuff but I suck at actually making it), You could go simpler and get a nice container and fill it with black and purple stones! I also love these purple tea lights for additional decoration :)

For a no-work-at-all feel, you could just get super cute [premade centerpieces] (http://www.amazon.com/Elegance-PURPLE-Jelly-BeadZ%C2%AE-pearls/dp/B00ANVOX2W/ref=sr_1_22?ie=UTF8&qid=1404828967&sr=8-22&keywords=black+and+purple+centerpieces)!

u/615wonky · 3 pointsr/shrooms

Want to start by saying I'm definitely no shroom-growing genius yet. This is just my current setup, and a bleg for comments/ideas.

I'm just growing for myself. My brother died 1.5 years ago, and I've subsequently started microdosing shrooms, which turns out to be an absolutely fantastic antidepressant. So I'm more interested in "cheap, consistent, and reliable" than I am trying to churn out a kilo a week.

My setup is:

  • A 4-tier greenhouse

  • A Vicks cold humidifier on the bottom shelf

  • A water fountain mist maker on the top shelf, inside a random bowl from my cupboard

  • Two fans in the tent to help circulate air One is at top blowing down, the other is at bottom on the other side of the tent blowing up

  • A humidity controller (the humidifier and mister are plugged into it) to help keep humidity in the right zone

  • A Raspberry Pi 3 with Sense Hat so I can log temperature and humidity and log into it from work to check

  • The tent is sitting on an upside-down lid from the largest tote I could find at Lowes. This allows air circulation under the skirt of the greenhouse, and helps capture any water drips to ensure I don't get water elsewhere in the room.

  • Two plastic totes from Costco (sorry, can't find a link), with holes drilled in and filled with polyfill, similar to this.

  • A 20 W night light bulb on a 12 hour timer on the top shelf.

According to the Raspberry Pi, the average temperature in the room is 62 F, with a bimodal distribution (my girlfriend loves AC...). It's 65 F when I'm here alone, and 60 F whenever she's here. Humidity varies between 65% and 75%, though I'm still working on it. It's rather hard to boost temperatures in that particular basement room.

The shrooms are growing very slowly. They started pinning 3-ish weeks ago, and still don't look anything like the giant mushrooms I see posted here regularly. My "biggest yielding" tub currently looks like this. No giant shrooms, and rather sparse inside. Furthermore, a large percentage of the shrooms have been there long enough that the caps have turned black. The other tub has a few tiny pins but no growth yet.

So what do I need to be doing differently in order to improve my growth/yield? And are those black cap shrooms still good? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Things I've already learned this round:

  • Paint the bottom of your totes black or cover them with tape to prevent light from getting in. My totes don't have many shrooms as-is, but right now 2/3's of them are "side-dicks" that are impossible to get to.

  • Regularly rotate totes between shelves, as well as rotating them around on the same shelf, to ensure reasonably equal amounts of sunlight and air.

  • Even with a humidifier and a mister, it's hard to keep humidity in the zone. Use a squeeze bottle to mist totes every day.

I honestly just got plants at Home Depot (indoor plants) that wouldn't grow any larger. They usually keep them inside near the garden area. If you want really nice plants i recommend you check Josh's Frogs. Depending on your set up make sure to get the right size plants.

Plants: https://www.joshsfrogs.com/plants-for-pets.html

The water area is something I add for both humidity and for the skink to swim in. I got plexiglass from my local hardware store and got (silicone sealant waterproof clear) to seal the edges, this separates the water from the land. I should mention it is deep enough. I did add a mist maker fogger water fountain in the water, wire runs through the backside of the tank making its way to the top of the tank then out. The lighting comes from the mist maker.

Mist maker: https://www.amazon.com/AGPtek%C2%AE-Changing-Fountain-Atomizer-Humidifier/dp/B00GSKCW70/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1538900380&sr=8-3&keywords=mist+maker

This build is great I have the perfect size terrarium (small size in link) for this type of skink.

Terrarium: https://www.petsmart.com/featured-brands/national-geographic/national-geographicandtrade-reptile-desert-kit-27781.html?cgid=5000340

Make sure to get mesh, hydro balls, substrate and its your choice on real or fake plants.

Mesh: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00167VVO0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

As far as advise on this setup... water plants everyday and keep humidity high with fahrenheit 70-78. Adding moss helps. Make sure to take your time on the setup make sure everything fits and nothing spill. As well as waiting a few days after setup is done to order red eye skink.

REMINDER: Skinks are very shy make sure to add lots of hide or plants so it won't starve itself.

I'd love to describe it! Generally I use the same design as I've found it works best for what I've grown in the past (cannabis, tomato, basil, peas, bell pepper, lettuce) which is an adaptation of most "aero-bucket" designs. For mine it's very simple, food grade bucket (preferably black to limit algal growth, though I've never had issues with this before) and an inexpensive pond fogger. The pond fogger works awesome at vaporizing the water and I've found nutrient penetration to the roots is much more effective than a direct spray method. The fogger can be a little finnicky given it needs a semi exact water level to work well but if your bucket is sealed (food grade buckets use a great gasket for sealing) you'll be fine as the solution vapor will remain in the bucket with minimal losses. Ive also used a plastic pot upside-down to raise the fogger and allow me to fill more nutrient solution into the bucket. Links for my parts below!

OK so I just set up this small patio system, as a learning experience. So far I like how it looks and sounds! Plan is to build a larger one (maybe 100gal) if all goes well here.... assuming my patio balcony can handle 100 gallons.

I used this cheaply made Chinese fountain (it was $110 when I bought it; I wouldn't buy it now at any price but would build my own, now that I see how it works). It has a pump in the bottom that runs water through a tube to the top barrel, which overflows to the second, which overflows back to the third. Plastic lined throughout. Unknown toxicity....
https://www.amazon.com/Rustic-Three-Barrel-Outdoor-Fountain/dp/B004V99HXW

There is hydroton in the top two layers, held in by netting or black permeable 'grow bags'; the bottom layer has 3 small goldfish, a couple rocks, an aquatic plant and one nerite snail. I started with a few gallons of water from an established aquarium.

Basil and watercress are doing fine, the others I did not expect to do well frankly (fish are very small!), but tomatoes doing better than expected - flowering and setting (one!) fruit, and the cucumber made some flowers but leaves are yellowing a bit.

Lessons so far:
There is not enough depth at the top compared to the 'spouts' to keep a top layer of hydroton dry. Will have to make overflow holes from the top two lower down, if/when algae becomes an issue.

It's set to a 15-min-on-per-hour cycle using a timer. After setting it up realized the top two barrels would not actually drain, as designed!.... so drilled a small hole (siliconed in a small tube) so that each barrel empties slowly through its bottom as well; when the fountain stops it seems to stop trickling at about the 30 minute mark, and starts up again ten or 15min later.

Seems to have iron deficiency, not sure about other nutrients.... My main goal is to grow greens that you can harvest leaf by leaf, such as bok choy in the winter, rather than fruits like tomatoes here, but not sure what to grow in the heat of summer besides basil....

Have not figured out any good way to incorporate solids management in this kind of design. Should probably at least find a foam filter of some kind to put over the pump intake

> Actual.

If you/she really wants to Cleanse your space, it is really quite easy.

As /u/Fawkestrot15 mentioned, intent is important.

So the first place to start is with yourself/Her, you need to center yourself mentally and emotionally so the best thing would be to get everything prepared then do something relaxing to get in the correct frame of mind like take a bath or a relaxing shower to be cleansed both mentally and physically.

I, personally, would smudge the house then close the entrances to negative energy by drawing a protective circle around your home with salt (any salt is fine). Just pour a thin line of salt around your home as you imagine a wall of white light coming up from the salt. Make sure you close the line so it is a solid line of salt. It doesn’t have to be thick and it is ok that the salt will dissolve later. It is the process of doing this in the beginning. The point is to make a mental dome of white energy that covers your space.

Another thing you can do is to make up a bunch of little protection bags and place one over each entrance to your home (windows too) I add some herbs to my bags also because they help and smell nice too.

Bottom line though is, you have mentally cleansed your space from negativity by going through this Ritual and then (by placing the bags) given yourself reminders that you have cleansed your space.

So, by all Intent if not in actuality, you have rid your living space of whatever has been bothering you.

In my opinion, Magik <spellwork> is all mental. Not any different from a Christian praying

u/wf747 · 2 pointsr/Bonsai

It's less common because it's not something you would really expect to full size growing naturally. That said I think it could be a really awesome project but you should take that into consideration. Just because they might not look natural in a forest type layout doesn't mean you can't incorporate them into the same piece.

While implied water is what i've seen most, I think if you can pull off the real thing it will be very impressive. There's all sorts of desktop waterfalls and fountain type things like this http://www.amazon.com/Unique-Gifts-S34807-Tabletop-Fountain/dp/B000DZM1ZE/ref=pd_sxp_grid_i_2_2 that you might be able to build on to and get the desired effect.

I could picture something along the lines of a fountain similar to that (without the giant marble) set into a case or box fashioned to look like a continuation of the rocks, with a model temple or shrine at the top and the trees on either side above or below. This gets the flowing water and both trees in one piece, and it gets rid of the suggestion that it's some forest they're both growing in and adds a more deliberate look to their placements.

Either way that was just an idea. Look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Sauce Box-- I totally want this, like really, really want this.. but I wont buy it for myself because money best spent elsewhere and all that...but its soo cool ! This divination crystal Its on my most wanted list, its such a pretty crystal !

u/AnubisWitch · 1 pointr/Soulnexus

I had avoided fluorite for the longest time, and I think it's because I wasn't ready.. lol. Yours looks lovely! Generally, you should choose the crystals you feel most drawn to. :)

This is the exact fluorite I bought, if you're interested: https://www.amazon.com/Fantasia-Materials-Fluorite-Crystals-Polishing/dp/B00HQ0AVZ6/

Yours looks more like this https://www.amazon.com/Fantasia-Materials-Unpolished-Octahedron-Polishing/dp/B01JZZEIQ2/ ...very cool!

When I meditate, I usually choose two of the same crystal, and clutch one (not too tightly) in each hand. I know they work, because I go numb in my hands first, then arms, and eventually the rest of my body.

Good luck! :D

u/ezzy_bear · 2 pointsr/paludarium

They are kind of the same product but on a different scale. The reptifogger is essentially a large ultrasonic humidifier that will produce mist and greatly increase the humidity in your tank. The mist king system is a diaphragm pump that pushes water out of high pressure mister that creates more of a rain effect.

A small ultrasonic mister could be purchased instead and set just under the surface of the water in your tank to create the aesthetic fog you are looking for and save you a decent chunk of change. This is what I am going to use in mine to make fog on the water

u/smokexbeer · 1 pointr/snakes

you could try to put one of these in the water bowl. They might even make one without led lights. I have one and it works great I think I'm going to put it in my BCI enclosure to get a little more humidity in there (mine sits around 50% but id like it to be 60%-70%). Also you could try cutting some acrylic to size like I did, or a larger water bowl on top of a heat mat.

u/Mortimer452 · 1 pointr/HomeImprovement

These ultrasonic mist makers are typically used in decorative fountains to give that 'fog' effect but they're actually really effective humidifiers. You can get bigger ones that really put out a ton of fog.

They are commonly used in large warehouses where controlling humidity is important, and for waterless hydroponic growing systems.

Very quiet, stick it in a bucket of water, just a light bubbling/gurgling sound.

u/ledgekindred · 3 pointsr/AnimeFigures

You can find little water-based foggers for a few bucks in many places.

https://www.amazon.com/AGPTEK-Aluminum-Fountain-Fishtank-Birdbath/dp/B00PAK245E/

That's just a simple Amazon search for "water mist". You put them in a little pot of water and plug them in and they use high-frequency sonic pulses to make fog. They aren't anywhere as efficient as "Halloween fog maker" type things but they do the job for small jobs.

edit: I have a little USB one my daughter bought me because she knows I like cute little gadgets. Perhaps I will try to get it set up and take a few photos this weekend. Don't hold me to it....

u/neurosurge · 6 pointsr/confusing_perspective

If you have enough room in your box, put a large plastic cup in the middle and put a small ultrasonic fog machine in it. Put that fogger on a timer to run about 20 seconds every couple hours or whatever. While you're at it, hook a small fan up to run around the same time to pull in some fresh air. An arduino nano is perfect for this.

u/whatisboom · 1 pointr/Charcuterie

this is the mister but they're a real POS, i'm currently on my third one in a year, but the latest one is holding out pretty well

u/eatmonster · 3 pointsr/Charcuterie

I was where you were about 2 years ago.

  1. I found a free refrigerator and spent around $90 to buy all of the stuff to build my own Frankencurebox. I suggest buying a Mist Maker Fogger instead of a humidifier (less money and less space) and I use a tiny ceramic heater instead of a dehumidifier which kicks on the refrigerator to cool and dehumidifier. I eventually plan on building my own dehumidifier. Only time I've had a problem was when I loaded my box and the meat was giving off more humidity that my dehumidification could handle.
  2. I would start with dry cured sausages. Most people here trust the Ruhlman recipes/books when starting. They are faster to finish and less money if you mess up. Go to a butcher and ask for pork or beef grind. It's the scraps they eventually turn into ground. A whole muscle cure like loma is going to take you 50+ days to finish. A dry cured sausage like pepperoni is only going to take 15-20. Much faster cycles to practice and test.
  3. Nitrites/Nitrates are necessary and not dangerous if used properly. The big Nitrates scare of the 1980s was caused by a bacon shortage. Bacon producers over nitrated to speed up bacon production. Nitrates cooked at high temperatures release carcinogens. So because bacon producers were using too much nitrate to cure, there was some left over when the bacon was cooked which released carcinogens.

> So I should only be using the light you recommended and natural light?

The reptisun 5.0 will take care of the UVb requirements.
The next element is heat and light.

They need to self regualte their temps

So I use a old fashioned incandescent light bulb A19 these put out a good deal of dafe visible light, no UV and heat as a gentile warming gradient.

Of course natural sunlight is the best.
But since you are up there in the NE and it's going to be COLD and dark you can't provide that to it for a few months.

So... you can get a few 100watt lights here that should take care of it. put that into a 10" reflective dome and you'll have both light and a nice heat gradient for it to move in and out of.

> The humidity lately has been dropping all the way down the zero so that's the only reason I've been misting with the spray bottle.

wow, well do what you can, I'm sure it's not zero inside the home. Usually someone cooking will raise the ambient humidity a few points.

If worse comes to worse you can have a bedroom with everything in it and keep that warmer and with higher humidity than the rest of the home.

The problem with spraying and such is that it can get into the eyes and cause problems (infections)
A little inexpensive fogger

re: screen cages
These are fine but I think the DYI cages are a little bit better sadly I think they're sold out of the 18x18x36 sizes. The 2x2x4 sizes are overkill.

I thought it would be cool to have plants in the mini fountain machines like this one where the candles would be. I wanted what experts think of in terms of humidity due to the water being so close and things like that.

I've been wanting to add a fogger platform to my town. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezYp3XgGp-o but it's a bit pricey at $145. cheaper alternative is to find a cool halloween bucket/container and add this cheap mist maker https://www.amazon.com/Fitnate-Fountain-Atomizer-Humidifier-Halloween/dp/B06XDMLKQV/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1536265095&sr=8-3&keywords=water+mist+maker just thought i would share.

What if you bought some amethyst specimens to place around the cake (and/or on it, if you find small ones)? Sometimes amethyst is cheaper than you'd think.

Making rock candy sounds fun, though. I think it can take a while, might want to check on it to make sure you start early enough.

Something like THIS is a nice alternative, just make sure it has good airflow and a cap to stop splashes, but still let the mist out.

As this is my first foray into plant growing, I just picked stuff essentially at random that looked right. :P

This is the ultrasonic fogger I got: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PAK245E/

For the first few weeks I only used water, but I switched recently to adding in a small bit of hydro nutrients: https://www.amazon.com/Blue-Gold-Hydroponics-Concentrate-Fertilizer/dp/B01LX3OXNW

The clay pellets suck, so I will advise strongly against them. I'm ordering some rockwool now, and hopefully I can get some more seeds going so I can try it all out.

Pump? It's 2017 sir. I'm fogging these ladies. 2 of these in each 24 quart container with ro water at 6.0ph. Nothing else. First roots pop in 5 days, ready for coir in 8 to 10 days. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00PAK245E/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I can offer you the cheapest alternative here. AGPtEK Aluminum Mist Maker Fog Maker for Water Fountain Pond Rockery Fishtank Vase Birdbath https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PAK245E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_dL60AbRBHMP2J

Although the reviews are mediocre, if you have the thing in a tub of water near the plant, it'll definitely do the trick. Kept my 3 x 5 x 8 foot hut at a constant humidity of 33 or higher and raised the humidity near my plant up to 65. Turns on and off automatically depending on if its submerged in water or not, and if you have an electric timer with a small water pump, you're set.

I've also seen them referred to as "pond foggers"

Seems like it would do the trick.

I'm using a small transducer that I grabbed off amazon for about 10 bucks.

It works by atomizing water, so the fog effect is just a very fine mist. It's fine enough that for short runs there's hardly any residue, but running it for a while leaves the tiles slightly damp.

LED light at the bottom, add a bowl of water at the top with a fog/Mister in the bowl.

Which foggers did you buy? I got this one, and even with an air pump it has a really hard time filling up a 5 gallon bucket.

Also, what nutrient solution are you using?

u/OysterShrooms · 1 pointr/MushroomGrowers

I got an ultrasonic fogger and put it in a tub with an aquarium heater to keep it warm and humid and then did a thick plastic 4 mil painters tarp from Home Depot and made a chamber. https://www.amazon.com/AGPTEK-Aluminum-Fountain-Atomizer-Humidifier/dp/B00PAJXVJS/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1485827628&sr=8-3&keywords=ultrasonic+fogger

Not all humidifiers produce a mist. What you want is an ultrasonic atomizer.

Fountain

I don't use the rocks it comes with. And my cage is tall so I have it sitting on a planter stand.

I think it's essentially this inside the cauldron.

Literally vegetable glycerin. I'd maybe get from a vape place though... not sure how pure your average kind is and whether it'd smell bad. Check nudenicotine.com for cheap definitely-vapable VG. Get 100% VG zero mg/ml nicotine.

As for vaping hardware... it's literally just a spool of wire wrapped around cotton soaking it up with power. But this might not be something you want to build yourself because something shitty has the real risk of blowing up the battery if you just leave it on. You could get a super cheap vape or something, and have it stay on? They're not really meant for that though. Or maybe something like this which is meant to stay on, then just leave VG in it.

Though dry ice might be the easiest set up of all. Depends if you want to be able to turn it on and off I guess.
