I got one of these. It was inexpensive and looks beautiful on my desk. Very sturdy and relatively easy to keep dry and control the environment...with a little caulk of course :) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0084ISZ52/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Also, if something unfortunate happens, and this hobby isn't without risks, I have a primary containment unit. I keep Rb sealed in a plastic bottle wrapped up and stuffed with soft absorbent material. It helps keep out the moisture.

Feel free to PM me with any questions you have. I've been researching this very very extensively and I have been trained in chemistry academically and applied for 2 years now so I was pretty comfortable in my knowledge of these materials before I even thought about obtaining something like K or even Rb. Even with all that knowledge, I keep MSDS available for everything I own and before I'm even receiving anything I read up on just that element. Knowledge is power my friend. I don't keep any samples that are large enough to pose significant risk to my well being...and with reading, when someone offers you a sample of torbernite so you can have U, even though your first instinct is to say FUCK YEAH I want that, your knowledge will then kick in and tell you that probably isn't too hot an idea.

Good luck! Let me know if there's anything you would like to know or any questions about specific materials you may have and I'll be glad to help!

I bought 3 Mannequin heads for my Rift, Vive, and GearVR. Just wanted to show them off. The male version was a little big for the Rift. The Rift does fit but the side strap is stretched a bit and I didn't want to loose its elastity but the Vive fits nicely. The female head is smaller and fits perfectly for the Vive though. I also have a white version of the male head for my GearVR but it looks just like the black one so I didn't take any pics of that.

If you are interested you can get them on Amazon. I'm not the seller nor am I promoting these product. Just wanted to share.

i hope the kizu LN sell well so that Vertical can see that there's a lot of interest to warrant a full series localization.

By sealed away, some BDs come with artbooks and i put them in those bags, just the artbooks, if they are bigger i use a bigger bag like so. These are what i use to seal the artbooks shown. The one i linked previously was just for manga/LNs.

In regards to figures... I know figures are made to match preorder amount. Its the retailers/sellers that put in the order, some a little more than what really is preordered to sell after release. Another thing is that people cancel their preorders at the last minute, causing the seller to have extras. You can still get releasd figures, sometimes for cheaper than original asking price. This is why buying figures can be hard sometimes, if the figure is popular/well made the demand will be high and so will the price. At that point, you better be prepared to shell out the big bucks or pray that the manufacturer does a rerelease. The after marker isn't so bad, some people take really good care of their figures, like not taking it out of the box, etc.,and you can buy those second hand figures.

It is a slippery slope. Don't get me wrong, i like all the figures i bought but it could've been cut in half if i really limit myself to characters/shows i REALLY like. But there's no regrets now.

Re-sealable just means that it has a strip of adhesive that you can use to close the flap. You can just buy a bag with no adhesive and use a tape to secure it like what i do to my hentai manga. 2 mil thickness is a good amount, you don't want your collection to get too bulky or else you can't more in a shelf. All you really want these bags to do is protect the books from dust and air.

Would something like these work? I've ordered from Nashville Wraps before and they are fast and inexpensive. (There are way more in the box than you need, but the price is pretty low for that many, perhaps they can be used by the club for a future event as well.)

You might also try Uline as well, but I didn't see anything that wasn't quite a bit more pricey than the Nashville Wraps bags above.

One other place to try is Joann or Michaels, perhaps you can find some plain gift bags (solid color or similar) to use. Good luck!

Edited to add: Found this on Amazon. 100 for $20 if you're a prime member. (A little more for shipping if you're not.)

Nah I have just been doing this for 3 years at con's.

The last 2 years I have been shipping 50+ ami's off to NY for a gallary event that runs Dec-March. Its best to know your audience and since you go to these conventions you should have a good idea of what they want.

Get a good display for the ami's. The popular choice around here is grid tri fold display and paper clips are used like hooks you can just make a thread loop to pop them off/on. This is so you can display a wall of ami's with out taking up table space and it folds flat for travel --tip-- zip tie them together flat so you can change up the display triangle fold, room divider zig zag, science fair display style. I tend to make sure people know I have more in the back so they dont have to remove the one on display unless its my last so I dont have to keep refilling it.

Paper cutter.

Picked one up for a few dollars at a yard sale. I use it to cut up cardboard. If I have something light that can ship first class but semi fragile like an action figure or a $20-40 fishing reel I will cut up a strip of cardboard and wrap it around the item then throw it in a bubble mailer. I could use scissors or just rip the cardboard but there's less waste and faster with a paper cutter.

Rubbing alcohol for getting ink off items, just be careful with certain items as it can fade labels

Spaghetti strainer. Good for rinsing legos. Picked up a metal one at a yard sale as well for $1

Lingerie garment bag, good for also washing stuff like legos in a washing machine

Torso mannequins(I think I got a better deal than this on ebay, under $40 for this set)
https://www.amazon.com/Torso-Female-Waist-Mannequin-Forms/dp/B0040YSPO0/ref=sr_1_5?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1517504186&sr=1-5&keywords=torso+mannequin

Styrofoam head for modeling hats. A few bucks on ebay.

u/widdersyns · 1 pointr/RandomActsofMakeup

I replied to another comment on here but here's a few more ideas:
This thing is cute and kind of compact. Not sure if big enough for all of them though.
This one has 41 spaces and this one has 48. Need more than that? Get that plus this super cute circular one with 28 holes.
And the mother of all lipstick holders....72 Holes. Kinda big at 10"x6" but if you've got room for it, this seems like it could work!

u/AllegedlyNorah · 2 pointsr/poshmark

I bought her about a month ago. Greatly improved my pics and I'm thinking about getting one for plus sized items. My only issue is that her description says it fits items sized 5-10 but honestly, I have to pin sized M clothing or it looks like she's swimming in them. But overall I'm very happy.

u/gunslinger_006 · 2 pointsr/comicbooks

If they have value (either monetary or personal) please put them in Mylite sleeves so the UV doesn't fade them over time.

What I do is put them in mylite2 sleeves, with a double sided acid free backing board, and then I put them up on these little umbra shelves:

https://www.amazon.com/Umbra-Showcase-Display-Shelves-White/dp/B00EV5DC4G/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1480984207&sr=8-4&keywords=umbra+wall+book+shelf

I set the comic on a small square of that grippy drawer liner material (in white, so it matches the shelf) so it can't shift or slip off if the wall is vibrated (by slamming doors, etc...).

Works great and looks fantastic.

Oh that's gorgeous! Looks eminently makeable at home, too. I've made ponies for me and my friend, and this looks basically like a miniature pony mounted on one of those pivot clamps they use in hairdressing schools. I might have to try that sometime!

I ordered these https://www.amazon.com/Econoco-Tempered-Glass-Shelves-Pack/dp/B00TH3RKIQ for $20 from Amazon warehouse deals. But when they arrived 3 of the 5 were completely smashed. Looks like they were a return that had not been repacked properly. Since I just had a box with 50lbs of broken glass I could not ship it back. So Amazon gave me a no return refund. So then I ordered another set of 5 at regular price which arrived well packaged. So that's how I ended up with 7. They are great shelves for the price, highly recommend them.

For the brackets I ordered K163-1 from https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32885353478.html. Originally I was just using 3 of these per shelf. But the brackets are not strong enough on their own. Two of them snapped when I put the shuttle and death star on it, a scary moment! Also I live in San Jose CA so was worried about earthquakes. So I ended up replacing the center bracket on each shelf with a large regular shelf bracket from the local hardware store. The combination provides a very stable solution and I think doesn't look too bad.

Regarding earthquakes, I'm using a combination of QuakeHold putty and fishing line tied from the brackets to the Lego to hopefully get me through most minor to medium tremors. But I think I'll be fubar'd if the big one hits!

Paper are pretty common -- you often get offered choice of paper or plastic -- but most of the time now the paper ones have handles, like this. They are surprisingly strong -- especially when stores double bag them.

u/charlatan_red · 2 pointsr/homeowners

I wish we had enough room for a rack like that. Instead we use a little hanger holder next to the dryer and it’s great.

u/Arleare13 · 1 pointr/AskAnAmerican

Thanks. The paper bags that grocery stores use do look like that, but have handles at the top, like this:

u/Fakename998 · 2 pointsr/Flipping

Yeah. The clothing that I sell most are the ones on the mannequin. I use one like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0040YSPO0.
It really does look better than hanging or laying flat.

u/Funktionierende · 3 pointsr/onebag

I use these and they're pretty good, just not coloured. I suppose a person could dye them. I got them a couple years ago and haven't had one fail me yet.

u/TryUsingScience · 1 pointr/Leatherworking

In case you didn't know, you can get a torso form for really cheap on amazon. Makes it a lot easier to take good pictures of torso armor.

u/moldyshoe · 2 pointsr/battlestations

I like the setup, I really do. However, I just can't quite understand why you chose to use the longer legs for the second monitor riser.

I'd suggest installing a shorter set of legs for your second riser. I mean if you're going to have the gap in between, then you might as well put the right speaker there on top of the risers and place the camera lenses(?) in storage. You could also try installing a couple of these on the left and right side of your primary monitor and and placing your speakers there but you'd have to measure it out to see if they'll work there. If you're worried about visible cables with this method you can always run them to the back side of the monitor.

Another thing you can try is replacing your speakers entirely with a more slim profile unit such as a soundbar and placing it under your risers.

Hell here is one more: If you don't want to lose the space that the higher riser gives and if you don't mind a bit of clearance between your desk and the wall try installing dual monitor arms. You're going to want to retain the same height of your primary monitor because I assume that's what you are comfortable with and then have your second monitor inline and bevel to bevel. That should leave you with just enough clearance for your second monitor in the vertical plane and some more clearance to the right for your speaker and maybe even your plant.

Anyway, as they say, "you're never really finished". Good luck.

I have a hook that I hang my keys on and three small shelves (http://amzn.to/1VPtpdS) that I place my wallet, cosmetics, and then pen and paper on.

The hook and shelves are actually on the wall down my basement stairs, which is very close to my garage entrance.
