Some gift ideas that have gone over well in the past:

  • Standing flashlight - great for a DIYer
  • Turkish Towel - I use it heavily when traveling. It's a plane wrap, a picnic blanket, a quick coverup, seriously worth packing.
  • An amazing spatula. I love it. Great for any cooks or bakers.
  • If you have an older female relative who likes kitchen stuff, go to Walmart and grab some stuff from the Pioneer Woman. It's cute, it's functional and my mother-in-law loves the stuff. Ree annoys me but she makes it easy to Christmas shop.
  • Teen girls can be tricky. Buy a pair or two of BaubleBar (or BaubleBar for Target) earrings, buy this earring case and now you have a 2 for 1.
  • You should buy some Yak sticks for your dog. Costco also has some great Nylabone and Kong gift packs.
  • Every adult male I know loves this temperature gun.
  • Every newlywed lady I know wants the Chrissy Teigen cookbooks.
  • This throw is the softest thing ever. I have 3.
  • Cute couple's gift (also works for a family member who is bringing someone to Christmas who you feel obligated to gift to but you know little about them): Picnic blanket. You can even add a basket and fill it with wine or cocoa and cookies. Or just gift them a gift card to a cozy restaurant.
  • This Calvin and Hobbes collection is the best gift I received last year. And it's cheaper than it used to be.

Also, here's my link to a review on here of Etsy/ArtfullyWalls/Society6 artists in case you want to shop for yourself/others with the upcoming sales.

Yeah! I hate when they get all dirty! And yes! I got it on Amazon. There’s like a million and mine was literally $10 and they come in 22 COLORS. I got a pale pink to match my phone case and wallet, and it’s the perfect size for my bag, but I’m sure there are other sizes. Also, they’re kind of soft on the outside? Not hard like a jewelry box, but sturdy like one. Almost like a suede. I love it.

Also, some designers make them as well, like Vera Bradley, Fossil, Coach, Pandora, etc so if you search “Travel Jewelry box” on Poshmark there are some great deals. You have to look at this Coach one:

I hope you find one you love!

Hallow! /u/dragon1291 posted a great image for a pinning kit but there are a few things missing. This is a comprehensive data sheet on schlage pins and keys. If you want to build your own pin kit here are my suggestions:

  • DO NOT BUY A PREASSEMBLED KIT! I don't know why, but they always cost more.

  • CLK Supplies is a great place to find what you are looking for. Using the data sheet that I gave you, you can get "Universal" pins in the correct heights. Here are the keypins in many sizes by .003" increments. Here are the Top/Master pins also in .003" increments. Here are their assortment of springs and these are their security drivers. If you don't really want to have 300 serrated pins and 600 spools, you can always go for their Security pin kit that has a little bit of everything including the bump stop pins. If you want to use the bump stop pins, just put only 1 in each lock. Anything more than that isn't necessary.

  • This is what I use for my pin kits. The price is cheap and it works well for me. They do ship from China so you have to wait several weeks to receive it. Each of the chamber walls go all the way to the top so there isn't any spill over. I would however use something like a pice of tape to make sure that you don't pull up any of the side walls by mistake.

  • I would get Sparrows aluminum followers because the resin ones don't last as long as you would like.

  • Pinning tweezers are a must! I would suggest that you pick up Sparrows 120mm tweezers. I have their 99mm tweezers and I wish I got the longer ones.

  • T -pins are fun to work with when you advance but they aren't easy to come by. You can put those on the back burner for now. Here are the only ones that I have come across. I haven't used them so I can't give you any kind of review on them.

  • You can go with can go with the Sparrows mini pinning mats, their full size mat or a pinning tray. This is a cheaper tray, and I do mean cheaper. I think it might be made from compressed foam. You can also go with the premium steel pinning tray. Just be aware that they are very small. Like smaller than your phone small.

  • Core shims are VERY useful! You can find them in different places. Like here, here, here or here. Just to name a few places.

  • Make sure that you watch various videos of people gutting their locks to try to predict how things might go wrong.

  • When you start with your hands on work, go slow and be very deliberate. If you forget (or intend) on leaving any keypins out of your locks ALWAYS remember to remove the corresponding driver and spring otherwise you will have to force the plug out and ruin a spring and possibly the plug.

Now, if you don't want to have a hefty pin case filled with 2,400+ pins I can always help you out there. I have been selling pins to other users here in smaller amounts for cost. Feel free to hit me up.

I replied to another comment on here but here's a few more ideas:
This thing is cute and kind of compact. Not sure if big enough for all of them though.
This one has 41 spaces and this one has 48. Need more than that? Get that plus this super cute circular one with 28 holes.
And the mother of all lipstick holders....72 Holes. Kinda big at 10"x6" but if you've got room for it, this seems like it could work!

I keep necklaces on a rack like this one (I made mine though) and earrings in a divided tray like this. I don’t have very many bracelets, but I do have a really nice watch and a couple of pieces of fine jewelry that I keep in a vintage velvet lined jewelry box, but I don’t think it’s a great option for laying out everything and being able to see it all.

I've got a nice set of 300 Majestic poker chips, white, red, yellow (20), black, purple, and orange. Paid about 33 cents a chip from Apache Poker Chips.

I also use jewelry trays to hold the tiles.

Action shot of the trays in use here.

Went to Pacificon this weekend so I got to play 1846, 1817, and 1857.

1846 was fun, but it is definitely not a top 18xx for me. It seemed primarily about running a good company, and I found it uninteresting. There wasn't very much pressure in the train rush. When the permanents were available, I was simply able to sell my own company stock to easily fund the purchase.

1817 was a beast though and I'm glad I purchased it. Can't wait to play this game more to explore every nook and cranny of this crazy financial world.

1857 is always a blast to play because of the brutal train rush in 2 hours.

I have this UV light, on this 3D printed curing chamber. Works great, the only issue is it does not have an on/off switch, so I just hooked it to a smart plug and yell at Alexa to turn it on, I also have it with an auto off switch when it hits 15 minutes, which is helpful cause I used to forget the lamp on all the time.

For most normal size minis, like 10 mins is more than enough, for bigger things, what I do is run 2 cycles and its usually fully cured at the end.

Also, put one of these solar powered rotating disks to help hit the entire mini more evenly.

Storage option. Clear top and only one level so everything is easy to see. Its divided into 2" squares which makes it easier to grab things out than some of the smaller organizers.

I would try to find a wholesaler that sells gift boxes to jewelers, and see if you can find a ring gift box with an insert that fits your box.

Here is the kind of thing I would look for.

ttps://www.jewelrydisplay.com/jewelry-gift-boxes/ring-boxes

If you are in a reasonably large urban area there may be a local wholesaler who could give you a better idea of what is available.

Another option would be to buy a Foam Ring Pad Tray Inserts Jewelry Display that is the right dimension so that you could cut off a section to fit in your box.)

Aside from what others have suggested, a nice valet tray can be good to add to the pack. If you wind up with limited space to roll your dice, they're super handy.

u/lascalaveras · 2 pointsr/DesignMyRoom

that's rough - ikea doesn't have a lot of options typically.

How about a nice grey couch? I wouldn't keep the legs on this one though. (I looked on the website and picked a random European country - hopefully they have the same stuff at your ikea): http://www.ikea.bg/DefaultM.aspx?page=sproductview&iID=19525&cr=1_25306_0_0_1

It looks like you're into purple -and I like purple with gray (it's a bit less harsh than against black) so if you get a grey couch, you could have a purple rug too. Maybe purple drapes (but not both - that's too much!).

Also - you have a beautiful bathroom, but how on earth does it have no medicine cabinet or storage? I say get some free standing shelves for under the sink or just suck up the cost and buy a cabinet to install under there. Either that or buy a bathroom tray to put on top of that clothes washer to put your things in: http://www.amazon.com/Display-Fixture-Store-Full-Size/dp/B007PSHDQO/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1397405503&sr=8-7&keywords=tray

I use jewelry tray inserts, some feel that the 24 space rather than the 18 space are better (but the 24 space is too small for 1846 tiles). I place them in these jewelry trays to stiffen them up.

Alternately you can use this Darice tray with the lid cut off (and then rubber-banded on to store them), the rounded bottoms of the compartments make it reasonably easy to pull the tiles from (again, this like a 24 slot tray doesn't hold GMT 1846 tiles).

I wouldn't bother with plexiglass for most titles, unless the map is only paper. All recent commercially produced products and most products from AAG or GSG come on mounted boards and don't need any help to lay flat.

The most important thing is to get poker chips to replace the paper money. Using poker chips will reduce the play time of most titles by at least an hour over trying to handle paper money.

Cheers dude. I just found my new organizer the same one you have by the looks of it. Cheaper off amazon than from china lol ಠ_ಠ

u/S3RIOUS74 · 1 pointr/3Dprinting

The curing chamber is an open cube used for making shelves that I coated with a roll of vinyl mirror sticker in the inside. I cut a hole in the top and inserted a LED curing lamp. Since the box is made of hollow boards, the top hole is larger and the inside hole is a step for the lamp to rest on. I made a door out of scrap plywood and painted it black and attached it to the box with a piano hinge. Then I lined the edge of the inside of the door with weather stripping and added a magnetic clasp and printed a knob on my form 2. Add in a solar turntable to rotate the parts and you are good to go!

The finishing kit is nice because it contains the mess of cleaning the parts in IPA after you take them off of the build tray.

The stackable grids I'm using are just some cheap sackcloth things from Amazon, they're great :D

Take down the sheet from covering the widow and put up a curtain, make the bed, get that folding table and chair out of there and replace it with a wood table and dining chair. Find a home for the mops vacuum etc, and for the trash bin so its not right next to the table, clean up the stuff on the coffee table and put it in a little tray or find somewhere else to put it

I've traditionally kept all of them inside the boxes like you're doing, but a few months ago when i pulled out some of my first ones (3-4 years ago) I did notice some of that sticky residue. It was nothing that a damp cloth couldn't clean. Depending on the size of your collection, maybe air them out once every year or half a year?

I've also heard of ppl buying containers with a lot of boxes just to hold the smaller parts.

something like this

u/signint · 2 pointsr/Gunpla

I do a snap build first just as you are doing. After that I separate by how it is separated in the manual, usually head, foot, leg, etc. so that I don't have one large "pail" of parts. Even this https://www.amazon.com/Adjustable-Compartment-Plastic-Storage-Container/dp/B00MUI5LZO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1468423184&sr=8-2&keywords=adjustable+storage+container can be useful for separating parts. When I put them on skewers, I keep the same separation process. one set of skewers per limb.

I've got my eye on a few things from Amazon:

  • This box for storing Pandora bracelets and keeping the beads tidy. My mom has one as I want to get it as a gift to go along the Pandora bead I got from taobao.

  • A travel jewellery box. Undecided between this one and this one

  • This cute reusable water bottle. I've been wanting a small one for a while since the 500ml ones don't fit into most of my bags and can get heavy to carry.

  • Some videogames for my fiancee. We still haven't got the latest God of War and he really wants Red Dead Redemption II.

I also want to check out some shops in person and hopefully finish buying Christmas gifts.

I use something similar to this: https://www.amazon.com/Adjustable-Compartment-Plastic-Storage-Container/dp/B00MUI5LZO

I use a Ptouch labeler to label the compartments as to what pen the bushings are for.
