Quoting an Amazon reviewer who did the work for me (lots of rave reviews):

> There are already so many great reviews about this bag, but I thought some might find it useful to know the differences between the Command and the Commute. I owned the Commute for about a year and just switched over to the Command. I travel a lot for work and both are great bags, but I discovered quickly that the Command is much better for me.

> * The Command's design is much better for holding a laptop and tablet. The equipment simply slides into the pockets, whereas the Commute also has velcro straps. The straps might be good for some people, but I found them cumbersome. and restrictive.

  • The tablet pocket is much bigger in the Command. It easily holds my iPad when attached to a Zagg Cover. The Commute was a very tight fit
  • File folders fit better in the Command. The pocket is deeper and is on the opposite side of the main compartment than the Commute, so there is less chance of them getting wrinkled. The Commute pocket really wasn't designed for file folders, it seems
  • I love the Command's power pocket at the bottom. This easily holds my MacBook Pro's power brick and bulky cord as well as my iPad and iPhone cords. With the Commute, each cord was in a different location of the bag, which was inconvenient.
  • The Command has more pockets and more zippers than the Commute
  • The Command's strap adjuster clip is bigger and more secure than the Commute's
  • The Command comes with the silencer strips to cover the velcro, if you wish. The Commute doesn't have these included with the purchase. I like the option of using the velcro or not, and have discovered that moving the strips up a bit to expose just a portion of the velcro allows the velcro to do its thing while keeping the ripping noise down considerably

    > Lastly, I like the material of the Command better than the Commute's. The Commute's ballistic nylon, although very durable, makes a crinkling sound and doesn't lay as flat as the Command's. The edges curl a bit because the material is so stiff. The Command's oxford nylon is also very durable but is a bit softer and looks and feels more refined.

Money's on it being crap. Don't/Won't own it.

    1. Bottom middle pic. Single-stitched, looks pretty crummy, looks like a low weight thread (breaking strength). Biggest issue when considering a new pack. No point getting one that's going to split seams. When you're getting load-bearing gear, you always want to look at the seams and stitching. That section, there? If it looks wimpy, think about how the bits you can't see will hold up.
      • Also think about the materials sewn together and comparative strengths. Personally I don't care for pleather. Tears easier than the cordura layers. Load it down with too much/pull on the zipper too hard, and you can rip the stitches right through it.

    1. Buttons. Top middle picture with the cell. When you push that snap down, it's going to be pushing into whatever you've got in the pocket, right in the middle of the screen area. Plus when buttons break, you're SOL.

    1. Kind of gaudy D-ring pulls. Are those on open-topped pockets? If so, I'm never going to be sticking anything in them. No point in paying for something you won't use.

    1. Single buckle in the center. Partly personal taste. Aesthetically displeasing, and if I'm snapping down a cover I want two fastening points. Bugs me having a cover flapping open at the ends and leaving a gap.

      ****

My vote's for one of these. If you want more reviews, there are about four times as many on the UK page.

I love mine, it's still going strong after two years and still in like-new condition.

  • Swissgear's the shit. Great company, good reputation, not like whatever dollar-store factory's producing the WoT bags.
  • Super-heavy materials, quality stitching.
  • No buttons on it, anywhere. It's got heavy duty zippers with reinforced seams, and velcro on all the pockets. You just drop the flap and it seals itself, pretty much.
    • If you somehow manage to get the velcro patches loose, all you have to do is get them re-sewn/replaced. Unlike buttons, which are pretty much impossible to fix.
  • Double buckles on the cover. Don't even have to zip up the interior, it's that snug and secure a fit.
  • Plenty of room. It neatly accordions out a bit, gives you some extra 'stretch.'
  • Neutral, presentable appearance. Makes you look like an adult. No problem carrying this into college classes with kids, night classes with working professionals, or out in public. Mine's paired up with one of their Present-a-Folios with the cover flap. Not sure if they're still producing those, but it's another great organizer. Bag for the books, Folio for the paperwork and group projects, and I'm set.

E: On the folio thing, it's basically a briefcase, except you don't look like a tool because you're carrying a briefcase to class. Gives you more options for what you're carrying, so you end up carrying less. You don't always need to carry your laptop to class, or carry a sack full of books. Grab the folio, grab the one book you need. Versatility is nice. Perk to this stuff is you can head down to any Office Depot or Staples and check it out firsthand.

That's what works for me, but I'm finishing up a business degree at a military college. I might be a day student now, but I've still got to be professional, not show up to class looking like Joe Schmoe the Clemson pro.

Seriously, it's a friggin' fantastic piece of gear.

Alright, so I just got my laptop (GS65-RTX 2060), and I've already unboxed it.

Before I begin, I want to recommend these 2 peripherals: A laptop sleeve; and A laptop stand .Both of them are perfect for this beast.

I had a lot of doubts about this laptop, before getting it, and I was still over the fence. But now that I have it in my hands, and am an owner, I know that this is the one for me. I am absolutely blown away by it. I saw it and used it in a store a few times, but having your own personal device, and really gelling with it, is something else!

Right off the bat, the build quality is really solid. I know people complain about creaking and fragility, but my model is extremely solid. The screen is so buttery smooth, and the colors are extremely vibrant. The keyboard feels a little awkward at first, but once you get used to it, it's extremely satisfying. The touchpad, is extremely silky, and it's large area is very useful.

I know the speakers have gotten a lot of flak, but I like them a lot. They are loud and very clear. They won't bring the house down, but I don't need them to anyways.

If you want me to run any tests let me know :)

Awesome bag, and great work.

I just wanted to say that I too am not in the business of spending hundreds of dollars on a really nice bag, so I shopped around for a bit. What I got in the end was this: a bag from Passion Leather.

The bag is fantastic, and I have received a number of compliments about it. Solid leather construction, and apparently hand made. Absolutely unbeatable for the price. Really good stuff.

u/lskennedy · 2 pointsr/gpdwin

Hello!

I actually loaded up with accessories right out the bat, and most were from amazon.

They are:

A usb 3.0 hub

Bluetooth Mini Keyboard

Bluetooth Mouse

Amazon Basics 11.6'' laptop bag

I did also order a mini HDMI to full size HDMI cable from Gearbest for like, $2, but it's pretty shit. I'd suggest getting one though.

Now, this was all calculated. I travel a lot, either for work or for leisure, and this device was just perfect for it.

I wanted to get a case that can hold everything, but take up a small footprint. The case is just wide enough to hold the keyboard, the middle pouch can hold the Splitter, the Mouse and either the GPD in their if you want, or with the keyboard.

It all fits very well, and the only thing I haven't tried is the hub, but I'm sure that'll work.

I plan to get a folding headset for the go as well, and have a usb splitter for Mic and Headset, so I can hopefully get some CSGO action using the hotel tv when I'm away!

That said, the mouse I got can go from incredibly responsive to having just a small delay. It's fine for using for the web and what not, but I'd probably suggest a different mouse, or just a wired one if using the hub. (for portable and not frequent use, the reviews for this one are very good!)

Hope that helped!

u/AnarisBell · 3 pointsr/vita

Seconding the glass screen protector. I got the same one and it's awesome. Fits fantastically. I bought the original version too for my fiancé's Vita and it likewise is a great fit. Slightly curved edges too so there's no rough border.

As for a case, I don't use one. I bought the Nyko grip with the built in extra battery and carry my Vita with it in a 10 inch padded tablet case so I don't need to carry the parts separately.

I absolutely love the Nyko grip; it adds hours and hours of battery life and the Vita and the grip can be charged through the same port on the grip itself so I never have to remove it. Plus it's so much more comfortable to hold the system for extended play.

Are you looking for something casual or formal? Obviously leather (or synthetic) bags will look more formal, though you can make some canvas bags work with formal attire (i.e. suits or just shirt & tie). It will be hard to find a good quality bag at that price point, but here are a few options:

This bag from Aldo is decent; I have a similar bag from Aldo that has lasted several years.

This bag available from Zappos is also a nice choice

This bag is available from Amazon, though I don't know about the quality, and I'm not a huge fan of the style

This bag also available from Amazon is one that isn't full leather but I think would look nice with both formal and casual attire.

Another similar one available at Amazon.

Hopefully others on here know some other brands that make nice bags and can chime in.

u/rokislt10 · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

What kind of look are you going for? If you want a leather-looking bag because of their more formal look, you should really go for actual leather. Cheap leather and imitation leather will peel off revealing ugly chunks of backing, which is definitely not formal.
I strongly suggest you go for canvas instead of imitation leather. You say that durability is not an issue, but unless you only plan on using this bag for a month or so, the fake leather coating they put on the vinyl is going to start peeling off and you'll get patches terrible-looking plastic backing. Even something like this, which is well under your budget, would most likely break less easily and keep looking good for longer. Good luck in finding a bag!

I receive the email updates about new Pokemon products coming to the JP Pokemon center. A few months ago i noticed that they were going to release a drum bag like Lillie uses to hold nebby. Ive been monitoring the US Pokemon center about a possible release state side but so far I have found nothing.
At this point i am going to just import it but when searching for the product ive found two different bags. One seems to be a small pouch replica (https://www.pokemoncenter-online.com/?p_cd=4521329216416)
The other product ive found seems to be the actual bag judging by the dimensions (https://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%83%9D%E3%82%B1%E3%83%A2%E3%83%B3-Pokemon-%E3%83%9D%E3%82%B1%E3%83%A2%E3%83%B3%E3%82%BB%E3%83%B3%E3%82%BF%E3%83%BC%E3%82%AA%E3%83%AA%E3%82%B8%E3%83%8A%E3%83%AB-%E3%83%AA%E3%83%BC%E3%83%AA%E3%82%A8%E3%81%8C%E6%8C%81%E3%81%A3%E3%81%A6%E3%81%84%E3%82%8B-%E3%83%89%E3%83%A9%E3%83%A0%E3%83%90%E3%83%83%E3%82%B0/dp/B01N523HZ6)
Another thing that also confuses me is that on the campaign page for the products there is no listing for a regular bag but just the pouch (http://www.pokemon.co.jp/info/2017/04/170428_p05.html?news_recommend=attention).
I wanted to ask for some help on finding the true bag or if anyone has bought this bag and can give me a review of the product. I love how this bag looks and how it is subtle in its design, it shows off a really cool pokemon motif without being all blown up with mons and text.
Tl;Dr: Has anyone bought the drum bag lillie owns as seen in sun and moon from the Pokemon center JP?

u/daworka12 · 1 pointr/Surface

I have the [MoKo Slim-fit Case for Surface Pro] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C8T7O4Q/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and I really like it- although I'm not sure if it will give you as low of an angle as you are looking for. It has 3 different angles it can sit at, and if you ask me the lowest one is fine for writing on. Cool color options as well if you are into that! After writing all that I noticed you may not have a surface pro and the case I just mentioned is specifically designed for the pro. After some searching I also found the Fintie Folio Case for Microsoft Surface RT which is cheap enough to merit a "blind buy". The pictures on Amazon show that this case offers a really low angle that I think will appeal to you.

One thing that I REALLY love is the CaseCrown Horizontal Mobile Messenger Bag. I know it isn't a case, but this bag is so great. It can fit your surface and any accessories you may have and then some! I use this bag every day to bring my surface from place to place (or to a friends house). It has effectively become my "man purse".

u/randomlygen · 3 pointsr/CrossStitch

I've been stitching on the bus for a week and a half now and it's been awesome!

Thanks to the inspiration in a previous thread, I got myself a tablet case from Amazon which is the perfect size for my hoop and fabric, plus it has a pocket on the outside for thread, needles and my floss cutter.

I haven't got the courage to stitch on the SkyTrain yet - too many people bustling about! If any Vancouver redditors spot me though, say hi :)

u/pedarius · 2 pointsr/frugalmalefashion

OK, here is my cheap-as-chips briefcase/messenger, which I've had for going on three years now.

When I got this, I was cross-shopping against much more expensive bags ($500-1000 range) after a similarly priced briefcase had given up the ghost on me but didn't really want to spend the money, and at that time it was eligible for free returns so I thought, why not? Have to say, I'd buy this bag again even if it cost several hundred--the leather is real, uncoated stuff that feels like leather should feel and has acquired a nice patina over time; all rivets, zippers (YKK) and stitching have held up completely; and people regularly mistake it for some sort of vintage heirloom piece. I know at $68 (it was $120 when I got it, I believe) this sounds like a ridiculous pack of lies, but this thing is seriously amazing for the price, and would be a great value for $300.

u/FaulmanRhodes · 1 pointr/BuyItForLife

I've had this leather messenger bag for the past year and a half or so.

I walk back and forth to work 3 miles a day carrying an ASUS G750JW - the fuckin thing weighs 8 lbs - and an assortment of other stuff like chargers, cables and headphones pretty similar to what you listed. My huge laptop has shredded a few textile bags, so I decided to step up to leather, and this bag was the only one big enough to fit my laptop (have I mentioned that it's fucking enormous?)

After a year and a half or so of daily use, this bag shows zero signs of wear. The rivets and stitching show no signs of stress or fraying. The bag leather is about 2.8mm thick and the straps are 3.8mm, and the color, thickness, and quality is very consistent.

This bag can convert from a messenger bag to a backpack by looping the strap through a ring in the top near the handle. That's how I carry it for daily use. I convert it back to messenger style if I'm not going to be on my feet too long. It's surprisingly comfortable in both configurations, and I have received compliments on its overall look and style.

My only gripe is that the latches aren't as heavy duty as the rest of the bag. They haven't failed or broken or anything, I'd just prefer a different kind of latch for such a big bag. These latches are spring loaded and open outwards instead of inwards.

Overall, a very well-spent $200.

u/dwhite43 · 2 pointsr/Surface

Just received this case from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Evecase-Multi-functional-Neoprene-Briefcase-Microsoft/dp/B00KGTQECI/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1404780735&sr=1-4
It's well made, looks great and the SP3 with the keyboard fits inside perfect. In the outside pocket I have the (Charger, Hub, Mini Display port , Toshiba 1Tb hard drive and the pen). It's the best I have seen yet, and you can't beat the price.

u/redhedted · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

Could I wear a bag like this with pretty much any outfit, casual or business casual?

I bought an OCBD in Aquarius blue, it's a little out of my comfort zone at the moment, what pant/shoe combo could I use with it? Could I wear it with shorts?

Thanks!

I love this bag. I've had it for a few months now and it's incredibly versatile. The small version is the perfect size for what you need, and the entire customizable insert is completely removable for any times you DON'T need the camera / lens.

For what it's worth, I've been toting around a Sony Alpha A55, extra lens, and Macbook Air in it and it's been perfect.

u/RainyDayRainDear · 1 pointr/femalefashionadvice

I bought this bag to be my travel bag. Nice heavy-duty canvas and leather, tons of pockets for organization, thick strap, classic style. Post-trip I decided I like it so much that it's become my daily commuter bag as well.

I can't cram a weekend's worth of stuff into it, but it works alright for a single overnight or as a day bag. The exterior pocket on the back is really useful for stuff that you don't want to dig for frequently, like phones or transit passes.

If you're looking for a small laptop bag to fit the Surface Pro 4 and it's type cover, charger, pen, etc. This is small, inexpensive and works really well, the Amazon Basic 11.6" bag: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DUGZFA6/ref=twister_B00FB50SBU?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I've got this and it works great. Is lightweight and keeps my stuff together with enough room for a few other things like a mouse, papers, etc.

u/glucoseboy · 1 pointr/Monitors

But what about carry-on restrictions? They are typically more restrictive than check in luggage. Just so we're clear. Oversized luggage get's put in the bottom of the plane with all the other suitcases . Your monitor box will not protect it from the rough handling checked luggage will experience. It will most likely be damaged and the airline is not liable. The only way IMHO to safely transport a monitor is by taking it onto the plane when you board and sticking it in the overhead bin as carry on luggage. In my experience, carry on luggage has more restrictive size constraints than for checked luggage so you maybe out of luck in transporting it in the box. An alternative would be to use something smaller, like a monitor carry bag for LAN parties, like this. It should allow you to carry it on the plane. You'll have to make sure no one puts a heavy bag on top of it in the overhead compartment.

Looking for suggestions for a messenger style bag that can hold my laptop (Surface Book) as well as pack in my lunch for my work shift. Seeing if anyone know any messenger style bags that are made for this reason, or as close to it as possible. Thanks! Have been checking out bags similiar to the 5.11 Adult Side Briefcase.

https://www.amazon.com/5-11-Tactical-56003-Adults-Side-Briefcase/dp/B004V55PSW

Amazon similar bags:

Again, looking for something that can not only hold and keep my laptop safe, but also pack in my lunch and keep that cold/leak proof preferably. I like the form of the messenger bag because of the ease in transporting it, ie carrying it over the shoulder.

On Amazon the leather Mainstay is only $109.

I actually ordered the blue canvas Mainstay a while back and they sent me the blue Boatswain instead. I think they both look great, so I kept the Boatswain. Really nice bag.

Edit: Interestingly all of the bags are now cheaper on Navali's own site, except for the leather Mainstay. Only $50 for the canvas Mainstay.

I've been using messenger bags for my Surface devices (to be fair, laptops and ultrabooks before them), and I currently carry SP3, SP4, or Book depending on what I'm doing. I use CaseCrown bags, and since you listed an Amazon link I'll share the one I have currently via Amazon (I have the "black stealth" color scheme):

EDIT: For reference, I don't put the Book in this bag, as it doesn't quite fit (I have a laptop bag I use when I need to haul that thing, and I'm usually carrying a lot more), but I use the Pro 4 (and Pro 3 before it) primarily to/from work, and everything goes in here nicely. My next bag will probably be this, though, as it will fit a book too:

Thanks! To clarify, I don't really need it to be minimal or overly slim or anything, but professional looking. Most camera bags seem to have the Timbuk2-style look that has colors and logos everywhere, which won't really fly at my place. With my divider pouch in the Filson, there is little room to store anything else, so I was looking for something that has a bit larger compartment (width) for my divider pouch, while still offering some room or pockets for my other stuff.

So far, this seems like it might be my best option, but I wanted to see if there was something a bit more stylish:

If you want a travel case, I love this one. Don't be scared off by the "basics" label, they make good stuff.

I don't use a during-use case though, so no help there.

u/ToddAtWSU · 2 pointsr/Surface

This is what I use. It fits the SP4 perfectly and the charger fits well in the front pouch with flash drives and a nice slot for the Surface Pen. I do not like storing the SP4 with Pen attached in this bag as it is very snug with that extra width.

I just got my SP4, I went and ordered this case off Amazon. Really liking it so far! Nice snug fit, holds a few extra items in the front zipper (power cord, extra cell battery, SD cards, etc). Nice purchase for $23.

I have this one, solid bag, it was recomended by reddit, I also use a 13 MBPr and its perfect the two pockets are perfectly sized for a magsafe charger and a magic mouse, however the laptop does not fit in the zippered slot, I keep a notebook in there and also use a grid it to keep my cables and other things organized

I also have a pair of Halos and ran into the same issue as you did with the carrying case... it's just not big enough unless you want to really carefully push everything to get it to fit.

I bought one of these off of a recommendation here on the forum:
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Netbook-Handle-10-Inch-Tablets/dp/B002VPE1Q6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1466620050&sr=8-1&keywords=netbook+bag

It works fantastic for the headset. Cheap fix too!

Using both together for over a year - love the leather bag, the sleeve is alright - just works

u/efiggy · 1 pointr/chromeos

I have a CB3-111 and purchased an AmazonBasics case for around $12. The Chromebook fits snuggly in the case and I have my mouse and charger in there as needed. I'm pretty happy with it!

u/PatPetPitPotPut · 24 pointsr/malefashionadvice

I received this bag as a 30th birthday gift earlier this year, and it's amazing. The leather has patinated really well, tons of space, canvas lined, and I can fit my absurdly large ASUS gaming laptop when needed.

Edit: I just noticed the part where you mentioned not liking leather. I'm leaving this here out of shame.

u/GTDwarf · 1 pointr/frugalmalefashion

Not ebay, but....I bought this bag back in december and it is AMAZING for the price! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EF16AWW/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The stitching is perfect and the leather is actually not too bad. My favorite part about the bag is that it has the look of the straps, but it is actually a buttoned satchel.

u/eeisner · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

can anyone recommend an inexpensive (<$100) messenger/laptop bag? have some business dinners coming up and feel that a messenger bag looks much better than a backpack.

here's 2 ive found on amazon same day...

I am sure your tote is fine. A briefcase would look out of place in an educational setting. As a guy I personally use a nice leather messenger bag for interviews, and for getting my things to and from class every day. It is enough for my laptop, a book or two, and any papers I need. This isn't the exact one I have, but something like this is my recommendation for guys.

Got this from Amazon. I love it because it also fits the battery charger and has additional space for a mouse, cables, etc. Plus the price can't be beat!

u/ugghhh_gah · 1 pointr/solotravel

I just returned from my first solo trip to new Zealand for 3 wks. I took eBags' Mother Lode convertible bag and this tacticool messenger bag- I like pockets!

Granted I had a rental car so I could- and did- leave stuff behind in there for convenience, but overall those two bags were capable of carrying everything I needed for the trip. I'm going to Europe for 3 wks in a little over a month and I plan to bring the same bags, or maybe an even smaller messenger bag b/c their cabin baggage restrictions seem to be stricter overall. Caveat: I'm a tiny woman w/ correspondingly small clothing.

u/eCookie · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

Looking for a Messenger Bag but all I can find is either out of price range (40-90€ max) or made in China from sellers I doubt they would even deliver. If I find something (like Berchirly) its only for US without international shipping.

Does someone know a store they can recommend located in the EU? Some examples of bags I found and liked

I own and like this one.https://www.amazon.com/KomalC-Buffalo-Leather-Messenger-Briefcase/dp/B01L0EYJB0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1518910103&sr=8-1&keywords=leather+briefcase
It is made by a small time guy who hand signs a thank you note in pen on every order. Note every bags distressing is different.

u/thesoftbulletin · 1 pointr/Surface

Well, it did have the keyboard cover from MS on it at the time, and while my backpack has a separate area in the rear of the large part specifically for laptops/tablets I'd be lying if I described it as padded, at least no more than the rest of the bag. It does have light padding and leather at the base, which was where it landed. It seemed like the corner of the Surface is what took the hit, and it resulted in shattering the corner of the screen.

Today though I just ordered a bag to put in my backpack that I think will really help protect it moving forward, and the price wasn't too insane either. (http://amzn.com/B00KGTQECI)

It's my carry-on, fits a big laptop, works good with just a notebook, and is tough as nails.

u/mostsleek · 3 pointsr/BuyItForLife

I got this bag for my laptop and all the other stuff. While it is not all leather, it is canvas and leather. I like the straps are held down with magnets rather then having to buckle and unbuckle all the time. I can actually fit a lot in the bag for the size and it does not bulge.

https://www.amazon.com/Langforth-Leather-Vintage-Canvas-Laptop/dp/B01FJ62A02

It is bit "manly"....but there are affordable ones out there.

I don't have any word on longevity as I have only had it for about six months now, but it has been on two trips with it and use it when I go out and about in town.

u/tekchic · 2 pointsr/Surface

I just got a roocase netbook sleeve for mine -- came in two nights ago. There's an outside pocket to put the AC adapter / stylus / thumb drive, and then the main pocket fits the Pro. It's not a perfect fit, there's a little bit of room, but I wasn't sure that one size down would still fit it.

Also for an inexpensive bag, I picked up this Amazon Basics one for when I need more than a sleeve: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DUGZFA6/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's this bag, and means a lot to me. Even the red part on the strap is dirty. This is just out of the washing machine too, which did nothing to get those stains out. Please help!

u/Bookwomble · 2 pointsr/Surface

For daily transport I use a Messenger bag. This one in fact. http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B009RV2EOI

For occasional case use I use a cover that I can put on and off that allows for a bit more protection. It's decent quality, but virtually doubles the weight of the Surface. http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00M43LWU8

On a daily basis though it spends most of the time just being used, on my desk, fully nude and spread out. ;)

u/nekoniku · 3 pointsr/chromeos

This bag works well for me.

u/J_Ryker · 2 pointsr/frugalmalefashion

I don't think that one does, but Navali does make another bag, The Mainstay that does have a laptop pocket. They are also even cheaper on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Navali-Leather-Mainstay-Messenger-Brown/dp/B00ANS7WQO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1407244788&sr=8-1&keywords=navali

u/tophatpete · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

I was curious about the Navali Leather Mainstay too. Just accepted a new job and wanted to class up my act a little without breaking the bank.

I have no personal experience with them (hopefully soon), and I didn't find much out there on MFA. No reviews on Navali's site, but here are some from Amazon.

Have you considered getting a small Amazon basics laptop bag? $10 or less and it's padded. It's what I use.

My Navali Mainstay Messenger Bag (https://www.amazon.com/Navali-Leather-Mainstay-Computer-Messenger/dp/B00ANS7WQO) ripped recently and am in the market for a new messenger bag. I really liked the Navali, but it seems they no longer sell on Amazon and have doubled their price since I bought it. I'm looking for a bag that has a laptop sleeve, preferably a shoulder pad, and is genuine leather for <$150. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you ever held a 3DS XL? It's roughly the same size as that. My personal suggestion would be invest in a "tablet bag", like this one. That's what I have, and it's enough to hold my iPad, Surface Pro 3, 3DS XL and an extra USB battery + cables.

u/funktion · 5 pointsr/Philippines

Good quality leather or 16oz duck canvas in an earth tone with no silly logos? Yeah, not that easy. I'd personally just order from Amazon or something and use johnnyair or myshoppingbox to have it brought over. Hypebeast is also ok, shipping is quick and isn't super expensive but import taxes fucking suck.

As for other stores, Filson is highly recommended, as are Far Horizon Traders (though the camel leather tends to be stinky for a while, apparently). They're not too expensive. Slightly cheaper would be Navali, and they're on Amazon.
