Pants stick out the most to me.

IMO black jeans are some of the most versatile pants you can get.

I'd get a pair of those. I personally love these, but if that's too skinny/too much, I've heard great things about Levi's 511.

Next, like a lot of other people have said, a minimal white sneaker is king. For your price point, look in to Van's Sk8 Hi for a really casual/skater look, Stan Smith's in White/Blue for a more simple look (reading back over this, I realized you were in Italy - Stan Smiths are so fucking popular it's ridiculous. As are the Adidas Gazelles. Not bad options if you want to fit in, but keep in mind you'll be wearing what everyone else is wearing). Honorable mentions are the Converse Chuck Taylor II Highs and Lows. These might be hard to find on amazon.it but make sure you're getting the Converse Chuck Taylor II - they updated the sole and it's one of the most comfortable sneakers you can get. Durable and iconic as well.

You said you're in Italy, so I reckon you're not -too- worried about heavy outerwear.

Honestly, I'd skimp on the watch if I were you - it's an accessory and IMO not nearly as important as the other staples. If you do get a watch, Timex watches are fairly popular among MFA users and pretty cheap on amazon.

Polo 3 isn't actually that large. Nor is 5. Orange is a hard color to pull off though, so I'd personally avoid wearing that.

Lots of Americans dislike polos but I spent this summer in Italy and polos were super popular so just keep doing that I guess.

I will say, all of your shirts are wrinkled. Like straight up all of them. After taking your clothes out of the dryer, hang them up. Maybe buy some hangers if you don't currently own any. Hanging them up cuts the wrinkles down so much.

If the product is available in Italy, these Gildan shirts are great quality for the money. They're not amazing but you get a lot of options. There are several options there for different packages, but I'd stick to toned down options. When most people start caring about how they dress, they don't really know how to incorporate/coordinate color properly. Low-saturation is easy to coordinate. Black/blue/greys/whites/earthtones. For example, there's a deal going on for people in the U.S. right now to mix and match tops. You can see it here. I think these outfits are done really well overall, but as you can see the colors are really muted.

A large part of looking good is in the hair - your hair in the last 2 pictures looks super good. If you need product to do that, I'd use part of the $500 to get that. Keep that shit up.

Also look into cologne - Amazon is a pretty decent place to get them. I personally love Bvlgari Man Extreme and I get it through Amazon. Consider stopping by a Sephora or something and testing out colognes to find one you like - you can typically find it on Amazon for about $60 for 3 Oz.

I'd also stay away from V-necks as much as possible. Might just be me, but I really hate them.

I'd also consider no-show socks. I realize you're in Milan, so if you want to go all in on the Milan look, I'd suggest the following:

Simple, well-fitting shirts.
Black skinny jeans, pinrolled.
White sneakers - Stan Smiths and Superstars are ubiquitous in Milan.
No-show socks.

Your one suit is great. Make sure you have a dress belt that matches the shoes you wear with your suit. A suit without a belt is hard to pull off.

When shopping on amazon - be sure to avoid shit like this. Cheap, chinese made, won't look anything like the product pictures. This sums it up pretty well. Buy stuff from brands you've heard of - you've heard of them for a reason. That being said, only buy shoes from shoe companies and clothes from clothes companies. Tommy Hillfiger and Calvin Klein and the like make decent clothes but terrible, terrible shoes.

I looked through jackets on amazon.it and this was the best I could come up with - not cheap by any means, but it'll be good quality and bombers are super ubiquitous, esp in Milan. Unfortunately, it's still about $90 but jackets get expensive quickly. It would be smart to get a simple sweatshirt or hoodie. This can be layered under the bomber for a cold night. I'd stray away from a zip up hoodie, as your bomber already has the edit zipper***.

I also just remembered that Cheap Monday is super popular in Europe - This is a great option. Low vans are also good shoes to consider.

That's uhhh... all that comes to mind. It's super disorganized and I threw a lot at ya so have fun with that. Super jealous that you get to go to school in Milan. Have tons of fun dude.

  • You don't need to prove anything. People get rejected all the time and it's not something to worry about. NO PRESSURE, seriously, there is no pressure.

  • Talk about what you're confident in and let them do a lot of the talking.

  • If you don't know something they're talking about the worst thing you can do is get nervous and pretend to know it. Just say you don't know. You can't get nervous if you're focusing on things you're confident about.

  • This takes a bit of work to get right but read them. How are they acting and responding to you? If they look annoyed or distracted they probably want you away. So leave, you only dig yourself a hole waiting for them to leave/you get rejected. Talk to people that look like they want to be talked to.

  • I don't know what type of experience you have with people in general but use general social skills. I'm 21 as well by the way, an avid gamer nerd, I program, I sit in a lab with smelly people all day, you name it.
I'm in the networking stages of getting into the tech industry and I use these same skills for business that I use for pleasure. They've gotten me into VIP areas with Blizzard names like J. Allen Brack and Dustin Browder (yes really) just as well as they've gotten me into girls pants. What I mean is I literally will talk about tech and games with girls in an enthusiastic and sociable manner. Girls like confidence and intelligence.

  • Now that's all about you. The final step is to be genuinely interested in them. You can't spend all this time concerned about yourself. I don't mean to pretend to be interested, I mean serious, genuine interest. Remember, picking up girls is as much your choice as theirs. Keep your standards up and know what you want, don't feel like the pressure is all on you. Lots of "first time" guys have this problem. Trust me, girls aren't automatically dynamos in bed either.

    --EDIT--

  • One last thing: show personal pride. The way you hold yourself, the way you dress, etc. isn't as shallow as some "idealists" would have you believe. It's also a display in personal pride and care for yourself. My general "do it all outfit" is some nice dark blue jeans, nice belt, button down shirt wit the sleeves rolled (99% of the time not tucked), a nice (non-digital) watch, non-colorful sunglasses (sunny day only) and if it's cold out I have a nice casual jacket (something like this).

  1. I would pay off all of my debts and spoil my kid. Maybe get myself some stuff as well?

  2. A bowl with fake lemons in it. Anybody who does that has their life together. Haha. For real though, I would like to just decorate with random stuff. Like hey, here's shelf on the wall that has a vase on it cause why not?

  3. I can't choose just one, but i'm a fan of these. This one is more subtle, but has interior fur.

This one is black and more ostentatious, but if paired with the right clothes, it can look super classy.

This one isn't as ostentatious, but has a touch of fur to let people know that you can be fancy as fuck without going all out.

This one is my favorite, honestly. I actually really like the white one, but the black one is pretty neat.

This one is more practical, but still has a good look.

Again, more practical, but doesn't look too bad.

  4. Unfortunately, I don't read books nowhere near as much as I used to, so i can't really recommend anything.

  5. Here are some ideas for nice boots.

Also, i'm not sure on your budget, but here are some ideas for nice Jewlery.

  6. Not sure on the quality on some of these, but they're at least somewhere to start from. I hope that you like!

  7. I nominate /u/IceCage42! This person is always nice and takes the time to comment on a lot of people's random comments in the daily/nightly thread (including mine). Thank you!

Alright, you're going to be on a crunch so materials will have to be ad hoced and I'm not sure what you're working with here (sewing machine ect)

I would start with a basic jacket (Something like this would work fine check local thrift stores/walmarts for a much better deal) and buy some fabric at your local retailer for the red accents

The white wrap around his stomach could also be used with white fabric strip and a safety pin.

Brown cargo pants pulled and a belt should be good there.

The goggles will be an issue because many times (like my first GOOD cosplay) the accenting accessories make the cosplay great) I was thinking somewhat along the line of used swim goggles maybe?

The boots you could find boots/use felt and shape it how you like

Best of luck and have fun at your con!

Edit: Minor changes for clarity.

I’m looking for a warm jacket that would look good over a hoodie with khakis and possibly navy jeans. Price range would be around 100$ but flexible. I looked at multiple Harrington jackets but couldn’t find one that wasn’t either super expensive or one that I thought would look good. Any help is super appreciated.

Edit: I found this Brandit Men's Lord Canterbury Jacket Navy size L https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XGHH2JS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_oWI0DbNZ770MZ
I’m not sure about the quality of this because there’s not many reviews and it’s a cheap price but it’s the kind of look I’m looking for.

u/uw0tm8ohok · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

Possibly Dumb Question: Does anyone know what kind of jacket this is or where I can find high quality ones? https://i.imgur.com/8GChcqg.jpg

Bit of a fashion novice but I really like the style of this type of jacket with the fur lining and am interested in the wool material of the coat, fleece is okay too. I live in a cold climate but I only own bulky heavy duty coats and I want a bit of a lighter jacket.

Unfortunately I've tried 50 different google and reddit searches, including checking the sidebar, and for some reason can't find any outside of cheap Asian companies from Amazon.

Examples from amazon: My favorite looking one "Men's Winter Wool Blend Casual Jacket Stand Collar Coat Outerwear"

"Yeokou Men's Vintage Slim Sherpa Lined Shearling Corduroy Trucker Jacket"

"Vcansion Men's Outdoors Casual Fleece Windproof Jacket Coat"

"M2MO Mens Casual Turn-down Collar Thicken Faux Lamb Wool Lined Jacket"

"Men's Winter Cotton Canvas Tucker Sherpa Collar Jacket with Fur Lining"

Edit just to add: This type of jacket would go great with the social environment I live in. 200$ Budget.

u/corvettee01 · 1 pointr/frugalmalefashion

I picked up a Calvin Klein Flight Bomber Jacket for about $30 on Ebay about a week or so ago. It seems to run a bit big, I'm a large but their medium fits just fine, but the quality seems pretty good to me. The coat is a bit thicker than it initially looks. I'd definitely recommend it for $50 or under.

The only other budget bomber that I like was the Amazon Bomber Jacket, but they have some pretty meh reviews.

u/UnderoverThrowaway · 1 pointr/cheapmalefashion

I'd recommend checking TJ Maxx if you have one nearby. I got a nice jacket for $29.99 there that's one of those thin polyester softshell ones but also keeps you very warm and really keeps the elements out. Just got my dad a really nice jacket for about $25 there as well. They look very stylish, in my opinion.

At that price point on Amazon, you're going to get some strangeness in sizing. I bought a WenVen jacket I really liked, and the sleeves were very slim cut (fine for me), but the jacket was very long. I believe their prices have gone up.

This one is well-reviewed, and bombers are pretty in right now. This one is pretty thin, I believe. https://www.amazon.com/Lentta-Lightweight-Softshell-Windbreakers-Y-02-Dark/dp/B07QFTK976/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=men%27s+jacket&qid=1570381557&sr=8-4

Hey MFA,

Looking at a few lighter jackets. I'm looking for a decently warm jacket (for US's Midwest winter's) that will last a while and fit nicely with button downs, jeans, henleys, sweaters, etc. I really want a black jacket that is under $75.

With that said, I have a few in mind that I really like. Please let me know if you like any of the ones I have selected and what I could wear it with!!

  1. $48 - http://www.amazon.com/Oakley-411742-401-Mens-Stall-Jacket/dp/B00ITLGYES

  2. $96 ($40 at Oakley Vault right now) - http://www.amazon.com/Oakley-Mens-Taildragger-Jacket/dp/B00JKCXJW0

  3. $25 - http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=1026374&vid=1&pid=170636002
This is red, I'm looking for one in black, but I love the style.

Any thoughts, suggestions, or advice would be great!

u/LizzyLemonade · 3 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

Yay! I finally decided who I'm going to be this year: Mira from Donut County. Trying to convince my SO to be BK. We host a party every year but Halloween is on a Wednesday so I can't decide if I want to have the party the weekend before or after.

I already have white sneakers and just bought some black jeans from the thrift store to rip holes in. I'm going to dye an old white shirt pink and buy this varsity jacket and a black headband like this (or I might make one from scrap fabric).

The final touch is the donut patch on the back of her jacket! I already do embroidery so I'm going to make my own. And I want everyone to play this game so people get what my costume is haha

u/M_tridactyla · 8 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

You're going to freeze in that coat.

If you can sacrifice some style for LOTS of warmth, I really recommend military surplus.

The M-1965 field jacket. It's super warm for cheap (I wore mine today in -10 windchills and was toasty with just a sweater underneath), and is vaguely stylish-ish in that it's military gear and military inspired coats are really trendy now.

The only downside is that it doesn't have a real hood, so you need a really good hat. It does have a thin hood that zips into the collar that you can pull out if it's brutal outside and it helps a bit.

If you want warmth, cheap, with a hood, try an N-3B snorkel parka or other military parka.

AFAIK none of these has any wool. They are all just cotton/nylon/other synthetics.

u/ChickinCat · 1 pointr/frugalmalefashion

I have been looking for a light spring jacket for a while now. Something under $100, just to keep my arms warm and dry in Ohio weather in the spring. Typically I just wear a hoodie but I want something a little more stylish.

Something like this would be ideal, maybe just lighter and a little nicer, I haven't had great luck with clothes on Amazon

The "Performer Collection" Enterprise Nylon Jacket from Charles River Apparel https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00020OCD4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_RBFUCbKGKHGAB

I like the way that one has cloth on the inside and hood, but I'm not dead set on that style, I'm open to suggestions.

u/beesbuzzingintensely · 5 pointsr/MrRobot

hello! I’m the girl who posted the cosplay photos, and here’s I got almost everything from Amazon!

Hat-https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001FARML4/ref=sspa_mw_detail_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=APCG45FOXJN54

Jacket-https://www.amazon.com/Legendary-Whitetails-Journeyman-Rugged-Tobacco/dp/B00EUHCUIO/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1549686904&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=mr+robot+jacket&dpPl=1&dpID=413WlcHyQSL&ref=plSrch

Mask-https://www.amazon.com/Mr-Robot-Fsociety-Adult-Mask/dp/B01ENRXCOQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1549686926&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=mr+robot+mask&dpPl=1&dpID=41rABaw4%2BcL&ref=plSrch

Patch-I printed a photo out and attached it to a cardboard backing, but I know they have patches on amazon!

Shirts-I wore a black t-shirt and layered an old flannel on top of it!

Scarf-Again, old scarf, so I’m unsure of where I got it. Any pattern would do well, though, as long as it was brown/tan!

Glasses-My own glasses lol. I did the same cosplay back when I had hipster-esque glasses; it doesn’t impact anything too much unless you’re a stickler for the details.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, let me know!

u/Peat-and-Tweed · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

There is only one answer: You need a Members Only original iconic racer jacket.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01BSYXRCE/

I have one in navy and I love it. It's the perfect weight for spring and fall up here in New England.

Edit: fun and unrelated fact, Dennis Nedry wears this exact jacket in Jurassic Park.

u/hakuna_matata23 · 3 pointsr/malefashionadvice

The hunt for a fall jacket continues. Can someone recommend a sub $100 jacket like this minus the front pockets?
I also like this - what do you guys think? Any other recommendations for olive/tan Harringtons or minimalist field jackets are welcome. I like bombers but don't like how poofy they are, so something with a slim silhouette is also welcome.

Thanks man! I was thinking about this one:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00EUHD23Q?pc_redir=1410498146&robot_redir=1
I'm in Idaho and think it would pair nicely with a trucker jacket or a hoodie for some layer action. Do shirt jackets fit loose enough for that sort of thing?

u/phobius5 · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

This shirt jacket. I'm really on the fence about it. I love it but I'm not sure it will look good. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00EUHD23Q?pc_redir=1411020003&robot_redir=1

I was unable to find an exact match, but came up with some similar options. Hope this helps :)

option A

option 1

option 2

option 3

u/SatchBoogie1 · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

I bought this jacket the other day. The medium seems to fit well, but the zippers feel cheap (and also the main jacket zipper is on the wrong side). Is there another brand jacket like this one that is similar design and better quality?

u/Coosey_Goosey · 1 pointr/babydriver

Cheapest one I found: https://www.amazon.com/uxcell-Sleeve-Casual-Varsity-Jacket/dp/B0143YY62G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1505365341&sr=8-1&keywords=baby+driver+jacket
(It's not too accurate as the whole back is the gray color. This one is $13-$20)

Here's a compromise between accuracy and price: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Baby-Driver-Movie-Ansel-Elgor-Jacket-Orignal-pictures-attached-/152640930452?var=&hash=item238a1bc294:m:mvzwWCz0tDyP2z1xcKAc-bw
(It uses the same photo as the link that you posted but this one is from a reliable seller. This one is $60-$80)

Lastly, there is a cosplayer named Zlurpo on Therpf who is planning on making a run of the jacket. This will likely be the most accurate replica that you can come by, and is the one that I plan on buying. The downsides are that it will be about $140 and won't be produced for several months.

Hope this helps!

I bought this jacket on Amazon. It fits well, I got the small. The only thing is, the back is not covered in blue like the front.

u/gn0m3 · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

Yeah, do a little search for waxed canvas or canvas. Taylor Stitch has done their long haul in a few different colors in the past if you can wait a bit.

Levi's is probably your best bet for sub-$100 but they won't be waxed.

I've been looking at canvas jackets for fall and came across this. I like the trucker style and it's in my budget. Anyone have any experience with it?

u/MrFIXXX · 3 pointsr/findfashion

Closest I found was this
https://www.amazon.com/Nantersan-Outdoor-Sportswear-Windbreaker-Lightweight/dp/B01EWSRC4M

But apparently it's shitty quality, not surprising with that price. Looks like it's a series of many many Chinese knockoffs, but dunno the original one.

u/ThinkinWithSand · 1 pointr/findfashion

The jacket is Levi's. Stonebridge is the closest color that is currently offered, or maybe this Pillango color on Amazon.

u/W3lshman · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

The style is a Journeyman Jacket. I have Dakota Grizzly's Shane, but they're out of stock. This is what I'd get if I needed to buy something similar.
