First class mail package/thick envelope works absolutely fine with 4x8 bubble mailers. It costs about $2.67 if you purchase the postage through eBay, and you get the added bonus of free tracking and delivery confirmation. When you're shipping more valuable cards, you might want to spring for insurance (pay out of your own pocket if the buyer didn't request it specifically). It's pretty cheap and is a good way to play it safe.

Here's the method I've used for shipping hundreds of cards on eBay, with absolutely no problems whatsoever. You'll need the following supplies:

#000 4x8 Bubble Mailer
Penny sleeve
Toploader
Team bag
Scotch tape
Packing tape

  1. Place the card you want to ship upside down in the penny sleeve, then fold the excess bit of plastic back up from the open end of the sleeve. This will keep the card from sliding out of the penny sleeve.

  2. Slide the penny-sleeved card into the toploader, starting with the folded end of the penny sleeve. Be sure to keep the penny sleeve folded while you do this. It might be a bit tricky to get the card into the toploader, but it won't fall out of the penny sleeve once you do.

  3. Tap the bottom of the toploader against a hard surface a couple times if need be to make sure the card is all the way inside and level. Then, tape a piece of scotch tape and tape up the open end of the toploader. Make sure to use a bit longer piece of tape than you need, and fold on end over itself to make a tab on one side of the toploader. This will ensure that the card won't fall out of the toploader during shipping while making it easier for your buyer to get the card out.

  4. Place top toploader inside a team bag and seal it. In the event that your bubble mailer gets wet, this should ensure the card remains undamaged.

  5. Print out the order invoice, fold it up, and place it inside the bubble mailer along with the toploader. Seal the bubble mailer, then place a piece of packing tape over the flap of the bubble mailer to ensure it stays shut.

  6. Print out your postage. You can use a regular piece of printer paper if need be, but I'd definitely recommend going with an adhesive address label. Better yet, if you'll be shipping in volume I'd recommend getting a thermal printer (I've got a Dymo LabelWriter 4XL that's awesome), because then you don't have to worry about smudging, even if the address label gets damp.

  7. Apply the postage to the outside of the bubble mailer. If you're using regular printer paper, be sure to tape all edges with packing tape to ensure it stays in place. Then place a piece of packing tape over the addresses. Again, this step is unnecessary if you invest in a thermal printer.

Hope this information helps anyone looking for a worry-free way to ship cards!

how many are you looking to buy? I got a pack of 50 from Amazon for $6. These were the ones I got and I guess the only thing I would note about it is that it's definitely a small mailer. With a pack of clamshell wax tarts, there's probably enough room for one more 10 mL rollerball comfortably. I can shove more in, but these are definitely small. I like them for sunday destashes though since most people don't buy too much so 95% of all the orders fit in there. With larger orders, I recycle the padded mailers I get. You can probably get more for cheaper if you look around, but I like Amazon so.

Edit: Oh and get packaging tape. That's the only acceptable tape. I found that out first time I tried to mail something haha. With those mailers, I don't use packaging tape though because they have a seal, but it's nice to have around. Last tip: addressing. You might already know this, but I didn't before and I messed it up two separate occasions before I remembered. Your address (the "from" address) always comes first and is on top. The address you're shipping to is on the bottom. I kept mixing them up when I first started mailing things because my logic was that you'd want the "To" address on top because that's the more important part right? Nope. "from" address is on top. These days, I put my address in top left, address I'm shipping to in the middle, but sometimes I make a label from notebook paper and for those, I just stack the addresses vertically on top of each other with my address on top.

OOOH OOH I HAVE TO ENTER THIS BECAUSE I HAVE THE WORLD'S BEST BIG BROTHER. I am the child of Indian immigrants. My big brother is 6 years older than me and we both grew up here. So, there is a huge cultural gap between us and our parents. I can't tell you how good it is to have an older sibling when dealing with that. I have no idea how he went through it all basically alone. When he was a teenager dealing with American teen things and Indian parents who didn't understand, I was just a little kid. When I was going through it, he had my back. He has always had my back. I have always been able to talk to him about everything. Even gross girly stuff and talking to him about crushes I've had on boys. He wasn't jealous or scared of me being born shortly after he turned 6. He was excited and he loved me and played with me all the time. He has always taken care of me. I know true unconditional love is what I get from my brother. He would still love me if I was a homicidal maniac. And I don't think I can live without him.

now I'm too busy thinking about how awesome my brother is to go through my wishlist so if I must post something from it I supposed I'll do that later.

EDIT: pics :D (ps I have no idea what that third image is or how it got there. I don't know how to imgur...)

I can't tell if you already picked a winner but I forgot to post what I wanted so here. Those bubble mailers will help me with my business because I'm going to launch soon and I'm offering free shipping foreverrrrr. But yeah, I really want this jewelry business to work out and this would help :D

u/DiscStore · 3 pointsr/ultimate

Where are you located and how many do you need? We designed our own box that fits an Ultimate disc perfectly and have them manufactured at a local box company. You can have some if you happen to be close enough to pick them up.

For shipping USPS will be cheapest. I hadn't heard of shipping a disc without packaging, but sounds awesome, ha! If you're not worried about bending I'd recommend at least put a poly bag around them to avoid scuffing. USPS can be pretty rough with packages, so we always ship a disc in a box. Some postal workers like to try to jam discs in mailboxes, so if you go the poly bag route, at least write "Do Not Bend" on the package.

u/bugmochi · 1 pointr/Flipping

Use [salecalc] (https://salecalc.com/) calculate profits and fees.

Calculate shipping by weighing item + plus packing materials. You will need either a shipping scale or kitchen scale to determine weight. Choose "calculated shipping" when listing using the item's weight with packaging and it's dimensions. If you are going to sell clothing I recommend buying some [poly mailers] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HG8720/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) since they are lightweight, cheap, and great for mailing clothing items. I also recommend ordering some FREE padded flat rate envelopes and some A2 boxes from USPS.com for shipping items Priority Mail that are greater than 1 pound.

u/crazindndude · 4 pointsr/Wetshaving

For small packages (<13oz) I use these padded mailers or similar. You can also get these boxes, which are similar to the ones most artisans use to ship single soap orders.

If I'm shipping 2+ soaps or something expensive, I use the USPS Flat Rate stuff. Follow /u/fuckchalzone's link for more info, but you can get a whole variety of boxes and padded envelopes for free from USPS. Since the supplies are free, I usually will put the item(s) in a small flat-rate box and then put that box inside a flat-rate padded envelope (same price), for extra security.

Use www.paypal.com/shipnow for an easy UI and you also get the same discount as USPS's website.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076DTR1N3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You can get a 50 pack of bubble mailers on amazon. These perfectly fit one deck in the original box. Ship via USPS first class for $3.50-4! Profit.

Edit:50 not $50 😂

u/funkofanatic95 · 7 pointsr/funkopop

I sell a lot on eBay and i buy a lot too. The best way to package them (my method):

  • use a 8x6x4 box these are my favorite to use
  • get some bubble wrap (2ft for a pop)
  • wrap the 2ft around the pop
  • secure the bubble wrap with tape at the top and bottom
  • then for some extra room in the box once Pop is in, use some tissue paper

I have never had complaints using this method and most sellers I buy from use something similar to this. Also, make sure you're taking pictures of any and all angles of the pops box, that usually helps buyers a lot so you don't have refunds later on.
u/damacus1 · 2 pointsr/Silverbugs

Wow, that's a badass deal for someone doing a lot of selling. Bookmarked in case I need it in the future. Shipping of those does add up.

Quoted a #000 and a #2 shipment, with shipping came to 5.8 cents per #000 and 14.1 cents per #2.

For reference, I bought this and this shipped free using Amazon prime.

Works out to 7.5 cents per #000 and 32 cents per #2. Still have plenty of both left. Putting this up there as a less up-front cost alternative for someone doing less shipping.

Thanks again for the link though. Good info.

I buy my initial yeast and make a starter. Then cold crash, decant, and divvy it up into 2l test tube forms. Then I use each tube for a starter. When I get down to the last tube I make a starter to replenish my yeast supply. I've used them out to 9 months, but they are really best before 6 months in my opinion. 1000ml starter batch crashed and decanted down to 100ml will easily fill 4 or 5 tubes. If you only do this once and use every tube you get your yeast price down to $2 or less per batch. Don't be afraid to do two starters in a row if you think your yeast is sluggish.

Build a stir plate $15 tops
Stir bar $4
1l flask $14
Preform tubes $10

u/morales1212 · 10 pointsr/Entrepreneur

I sell through amazon and this is my Storefront

I keep it nice and simple:

  • Stamps subscription per month: 15.99 (I should probably cancel and go to the post office. I am not sure about the cost benefit of it.

  • Amazon subscription: 39.99

  • supplies (1000 cases): ~400 bucks

  • actual shipping: .92 each

  • selling price: 5 a pop

    5*1000=5k

    5k-400= 4600

    3 months of amazon prime and stamps= 40x3 and 15x3= 165

    4600-165= 4435

actual price of shipping for 1k cases is 920

    4435-920= 3515.

referal fee varies i say .50x1000=500

    3515-500=3015

grand total of 3515, assuming you sell everything in 3 months and assuming you are starting new without clientelle

    EDIT

If anyone is curious as to why my prices are .01 each is because of sales and shipping. Since business is REALLY slow right now (maybe iphone 4 cases are too saturated in the status quo), i only sell ~30 cases a month. So upgrading my sellers account is not worth it. When I sold ~100+ it was definitely worth the upgrade. I can no longer be a featured seller and I can no longer manipulate my shipping cost w/o upgrade, this means at .01 + 4.99 shipping I can still sell them at 5 a pop and save 40 dollars a month.
u/jmarndt · 4 pointsr/geocaching

I'm not sure where you got the idea that this game was founded on frugality. It was created when the military turned off SA for GPS units. GPS units at the time were very expensive compared to today. Plus the first Geocache was a 5 gallon bucket, which if you look at those prices, they aren't super cheap.

Plus I wouldn't call preforms expensive. https://www.amazon.com/5col-Rugged-Geocache-Waterproof-Storage/dp/B00S8Q4T0A These are about $2/piece, cheaper per if you buy larger quantities.

But none of that is really the point. The point is that an M&M container is junk. And most CO's aren't doing maintenance frequently enough for these to work. Sure, like you said, they're cheap and easy to replace. That's true, but most CO's won't get to it until AFTER there is a problem. Plus when these do break/get chewed on etc. it creates trash. And that's the last thing we need to add to the woods, or wherever the cache is hidden.

Why not focus on quality? If you are going to hide a cache, make it worthwhile. Spend $2 on a good container, then don't worry about it. It will be less work to maintain, won't create as much trash, and it will be more enjoyable for other players to find.

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/RandomKindness

I like to do some trading on /r/gameswap but right now I'm pretty tight on money and when I have to go to another store just to buy padded envelopes, (they never seem to have them at my local post office for some reason.) Anyway I ride my bike around a lot to do this all and when I have to pay for shipping and envalopes at a store that sells the for $1 each it gets kinda expensive when it stacks up with shipping, so all I'm asking is for some of these! :) (Also if I get picked, please don't spend the whole card on me, I just need these things and the rest of the card can go to someone else!)

u/Nephelophyte · 1 pointr/webdev

I lug around a big BUBM Bag around to airports and the like. Domestic flights in Thailand charge extra for the extra bag. Airports are not delicate with the bag and I'm surprised nothing other than various parts of the case are broken. On the international flight I use instapaks to protect the insides as much as I can. On domestic flights I just pray for the best. My monitor is a massive 27 inch Asus regular montor. I had a ROG Swift 165hz monitor that an airline trashed a year ago; havent had the heart to buy it again.

Only tips I can give is have only a bit of clothes and get insurance whenever you can. Triple wrap with bubble wrap whenever you can too.

Here's a pic of my setup atm. Excuse the jankiness lol.

Oh and for specs:

What do you mean about your grain bill being higher?

As far as the yeast goes, you're perfectly fine pitching the entire pack of yeast into a 2.5 gal batch. If you're interested in storing and saving yeast, make a larger starter than you would need, and save it in either a mason jar or a preform tube.

u/Tural- · 1 pointr/funkopop

Agreeing with this. I use a slightly different one, but same brand and they're great. Sturdy and perfectly sized for a bubblewrapped Pop + some packing paper. I've shipped around 50 Pops via USPS First Class and Priority and not had a single one get damaged, including shipments overseas (US to Aus).

u/Burn-O-Matic · 4 pointsr/BurningMan

I think this is great. I hope to run across one in the future. So I thought about how I would go about this for maximum ease of return.

Supplies:

  • Cameras (this style kind of important to my plan)
  • Plastic Mailer Bags
  • Film Canisters
  • Printable Postage Stamps
  • Cord/twine/string, Sharpie, small drill/pointy object, zip ties, and booze (for yourself and/or helpers)

    Work:

Weigh the camera and one plastic mailer with your drug kitchen scale. Use that weight and the farthest US city from you (contiguous US only?) to calculate a maximum shipping cost with the USPS. Enter all that info into Stamps.com and print out the required number of printable stamps (don't forget to select the option for irregular or non-machinable item to include $.22 surcharge). Self address the mailer bags and write instructions on the outside of the film canisters. Poke or drill out small hole in top and bottom of the film canister. Thread string through and tie knot at end of string on bottom. Lay one postage label against inside canister wall and pack mailer bag inside. Close top and knot again to hold lid securely on. Strap a zip tie around camera between bump outs for lens and camera roll and between button and counter. Tie film canister package to camera using the zip tie.

STATUS UPDATE - JUNE 25, 2016 3:33 PM US EAST COAST

Alright guys, I just finished sorting all the books. Essentially 90% of the books are accounted for. There's essentially 1 redditor who slipped through the cracks on me and I'm going to be making one last trip to several LCS's on Monday to get their books sorted out (you'll know who you are because I've PMed you)

Here's a before picture of all the books.

And here is the after shot now I've sorted the books

Also, I was going to run out of bags/boards, so I picked up a 100 pack of bags/boards. So everyone will be getting brand new bags/boards with their books. Would be kinda shitty to get your new comics and something happened to them in transit.

I was going through my closet of boxes/packages I have to ship books out, and I've only got enough supplies for about 10 packages. Rather than go to the post office, pick up a bunch of boxes, come home, and start cutting them to the correct size, I've purchased these comic books mailers from Amazon

I ask that everyone have a bit of patience with me, I just placed the order for those today and once I get them, I can start sending out the books. I know I mentioned that I would try to ship the books out early next week to you guys, but it will take me a lot longer to gather the correct supplies from the Post Office and start cutting boxes up for the right dimensions of the comics. The mailers will save myself a bunch of time in packaging the books and I've also used these mailers in the past, they're good mailers.

The seller unfortunately doesn't do Amazon prime, so I have to wait a few days to get them.

Here's the confirmation of the order for the mailers from Amazon

Again, I'm not going to be asking anyone for any PayPal information until I'm ready to ship these out. If you have any questions, let me know and thanks for being patient.

  1. I don’t know, sorry. All I do know is that vinyl collectors are picky! So don’t over-estimate condition

  2. Use these (or something similar) for the records, and get something like this to Mail them

    Hope that helps!

EDIT: I just realized you were talking about 45s and not 33s. My advice still stands, just use stuff for 45s instead of 33s like I picked out.
u/the_simurgh · 1 pointr/comicswap

i do not use buble wrap mailers. i put them in bags and boards, all the online stores i buy from seem to love them for some reason. first thing i do is remove them so i've usually got a huge pile of them. and then i put them in a specially made mailer for comics.

something like this
https://www.bagsunlimited.com/p-5313-comic-mailer-holds-up-to-14-comics.aspx
or this
http://www.amazon.com/Comic-Flash-Mailers-Sizes-Digests/dp/B007JAV8YQ

which i get with my online orders and carefully open allowing me to reuse them once i remove the shipping label with my name on it.

u/Broadwell · 2 pointsr/mechmarket

PMK sets hold their value quite well, you could get 80 for base set (97 msrp) (strangely, a set for $50 from 16 days ago hasn't sold or information hasn't updated). Pro mods probably 35 (52 msrp). Pro mods are harder to sell since only some people need them.

For shipping, use paypal ship now if you are shipping to conus from conus. Would recommend a cheap pack of small bubble mailers like this one or something from walmart.

u/mkhaytman · 2 pointsr/vinyl

Typically I get records in the mail in boxes like these: http://www.amazon.com/Record-Mailing-Boxes-Mailers-FingerPop/dp/B0034PU6Y8

If you don't have any or can't find any locally, you can always just take 2 squares of cardboard, put the record between them and tape up the edges.

There's a pretty good vinyl shipping guide here: http://reviews.ebay.com/shipping-lp-records-packaging-tips?ugid=10000000000209124

u/TilDeth666 · 2 pointsr/Silverbugs

Most people on here mail with PMs in a bubble mailer. I linked to it below.

As far as shipping goes, it would be more to ship to the U.S.(/u/gordie44 probably would be better than me to answer this), but I know there's a couple active silverbugs that are also from Canada, so international shipping might not be an issue.

Then the other highly recommended option is getting a tracking number on the shipment, but that can be something you and the buyer discuss

I recommend these from personal experience: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0034PU6Y8/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_DX.Wub1S475KV

Just remember to remove the sleeve from the vinyl and place it on top of the cover. Wrap everything with bubble wrap. Place two cut out scrap cardboards a bit bigger than the vinyl on top and bottom and tape together. This protects the corners and sides from damage. It's a perfect fit. Just place everything inside the mailer.

Some PC builders used to put large expanding-foam bags inside already built systems (with graphics card and cooler installed) which would fill all the spaces and prevent anything from moving. Supposedly it was very successful, or so I've heard.

I have a ton of posters. If you want the official one sold inside the venue, I would suggest going in right when the doors open. Yes, the demand is highly dependent on the artist, but sometimes a poster that you think won't sell out will. If you really want the poster for that night, just get in the venue early.

I hate carrying merch around the venue. If you can, have a friend stand on the other side of the entrance and pass him/her the poster to put in your car. I can't speak for every venue, but it is extremely easy to do this at MPP. If you can't do this, buy one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Nozlen-Expanding-Document-Poster-Inches/dp/B00DGWRHQY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1404221332&sr=8-1&keywords=Poster+tube

/u/BeatVids, I'm late to the game, but want to enter another BIG yes vote for the Chrome Industries bags. I'm in a similar situation. In my case, in addition, I have multiple bikes (which means I need to wear a bag, rather than mount one, for versatility) and will ride in any weather that isn't icy, including torrential downpours, with my stupidly expensive, 8lb 17" work laptop in the bag.

My solution is a Chrome Metropolis, which while it's no longer offered, is a slightly bigger version of the Chrome Citizen messenger bag. I loathe wearing bags on a bike, and yet I don't mind this one a bit, even with the enormous laptop, lunch, and anything else I need to wear to work in it. Their strapping system is secure and comfortable. The Metropolis will still hold a hard hat in addition to the laptop and my lunch in a soft cooler, half scale (11x17) drawings, and if I need to transport full size drawings I can carry them in a waterproof poster tube strapped up under the messenger bag flap.

I've done 100+ mile rides with this bag through rain so hard and constant that the inside of the bag was the only thing dry on the bike, me included.

With the Metropolis gone, Chrome's other messenger bags are also similarly constructed and durable. The Citizen isn't quite as big, but that said, the Metropolis is HUGE (it will swallow a full case of beer). My wife uses the much smaller Mini Metro on her bike, and it has no trouble with her conventionally sized 15" laptop and gear. It's been similarly durable and reliable, and was largely why I went for Chrome bags in the first place.

These are the ones I bought - 10x13. I'm sure you can get anything similar and they'll work fine (read the reviews, if going with a different seller). I've been able to fit up to 3 or 4, depending on the shirt size. More than 2, though, and you're generally above the max USPS first class weight limit.

You want this stuff:
https://www.amazon.com/Sheets-Chipboard-Medium-Scrapbook-Cardboard/dp/B00YO0GUM4

It's called chipboard, and it's awesome. This is the same material they make book covers, etc. out of. You can get it in "natural" color, or coated with white.

Thanks again. Priority Mail sounds way too expensive -- another 33% of the $15 I'd charge. But $2.56 isn't so bad. So I just put it in an envelope (I have a ton of these), take it to the Post Office and say I want USPS Parcel Select? One thing I found said you can only buy that kind of shipping online.

Is it slabbed? If so, I'd wrap it in bubble wrap, then put it in a USPS 1092 box, then bubble wrap that box inside a USPS 1095 box.

If it isn't slabbed, I would sandwich it in between two (or four) sturdy, crease-free pieces of cardboard (or, even better, put it in a gemini mailer), then bubble wrap it inside a 1092 box, then bubble wrap that inside a 1095 box.

I would get signature confirmation (not just delivery confirmation) and give the buyer the option of paying for insurance (which would be about $30, I'm guessing).

u/II_Confused · 2 pointsr/magicTCG

Those are hard to find and pretty expensive when you can find one. I found that a closet shoe organizer like this one can hold a couple card storage boxes on each shelf.

Pokemonerd nailed it, try to group the commons. I downsized from 283 pops to 159 and it was rough. The largest groups I sold were 5 pops. After 5 shipping just gets very expensive and you either take a bigger loss or people bail because they don't want to pay the cost. Start with your local Facebook pages for the groups if you can.

These boxes were great for shipping singles and are relatively cheap.

Shopify is a good volume store.

Weebly is for small startups and mid-sized. Simply open an account, transfer your domain and done. You don't have to pay a monthly fee.
You'll have a branding on the bottom, but you can remove by buying Weebly Pro (which is cheap).

If you want Logos, designs or anything graphics on the cheap, check out Fiverr.com

For shipping materials, I suggest you use mailers.

To keep your shipping cost low, use USPS First Class Mail.

If you need to market, send small sized companies around you a sample and tell them you can supply it to them. I'm guessing an IT business will do well or even a gas stsation. You need wholesale pricing. This is where you'll make your money. Think of places that will buy in volume. A school, a community college, an office, maybe even a police station. Cal them. Send samples. You never know till you get your feet wet.

There is more to say but thats the gist of it.

You can also market with Google Ads, or Facebook Ads. It's up to you. You could also sell to

u/Cabanaman · 1 pointr/Flipping

Here is what I do, and I ship things for very cheap.

When I get a bundle of free boxes, I will put aside a few to use as backers for first class packages. I divide up the box (usually the prefolded sides are finely sized for it) and cut them out. I will take the DVD, wrap in 2 layers of bubble wrap (not much) and place one of these sheets of cardboard on each side and tape them together. Then they go inside these cheap poly mailers.

I have sold hundreds of DVD sized items and never had one break this way.

u/Cellophane_Girl · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

100 padded mailers for $20.95 it's on my "Art Stuffs" list and it's been there over a YEAR!

I should not get this because then I would be able to send more random packages to people and that would cause me to just spend money on other people, and waste lot of time making special gifts and writing letters to people. And that might make the people who get the packages so excited when they open it that they might like, pass out and hit their head and go into a coma or something. And THAT is why I should not be allowed to EVER have those nice padded envelopes.

Plus I might spend so much time making crafts and gifts for others to fill the packages that I might lose myself in the crafting and forget my sadness and troubles and might actually get happy for a while. If I get happy tat might make the world totally implode. These bubble mailers may just be the most dangerous things to ever exist. And if I buy things to put in the mailers then I might end up not paying my bills and then I will end up with only the mailers to my name and I will have to build a house out of them, and clothes out of them, and then people might accidentally try to mail me and I would end up in some strange place only wearing bubble mailers.

It's not prime but it's free shipping. Does that count? I hope so because I have a really good reason that I should definitely not have those mailers. Also I hate writing letters and sending packages to people, and like making people handmade gifts is the worst. Those mailer would just lead to the misery of 100 people probably.

u/Harlodchiang · 1 pointr/buildapc

If you can, you should ship it with only the case, PSU, SSD/HDDs, and motherboard with only CPU in inside the box the case came in.

The GPU and RAM are notorious for falling out and damaging the inside of the case during shipping. The CPU cooler can also break the motherboard during shipping.

Finally, a great step in protecting the parts is to use a expanding foam like this one too help keep the parts left in the PC from falling around. https://www.amazon.com/EcoBox-Inches-Instapak-Temperature-2030-1/dp/B00KAFU0ZA

these are the boxes I use, actually bigger than what you recommended. They are thick and sturdy. I wrap the pop in bubble wrap(like a gift), tape it up. I then use packing paper around the pop to act as bumpers so it doesnt get dinged from something hitting the box.

u/Lone--R · 2 pointsr/geocaching

I like these answers:

> I upgraded the container to a normal match stick holder

> they do not even come close to lasting. They are the literal sponges of geo containers and will get soaked

> Spend about a dollar each and get a Soda Bottle Preform. They last a long time in the outdoors (4 years and counting on my first one) and have a screw-on lid that keeps water out.

> Honestly? Don't. I've seen many of these containers in the wild, and every single one of them was in bad shape.

>

I bought these (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HG9I5A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) for less than $10 with prime shipping. That's 100 bags! I fit 10 hats in each one when I was shipping for Hats for Sailors, and it cost about $4-6 to go from Pennsylvania to California. One hat should be closer to $2 or $3 depending on how far it's going. If you're worried about it getting wet, stick it in a ziploc before putting it in the bag.

Not endorsing one product or price, but there are a ton of options out there.

Also, grammatically "vinyls" is not correct. What you're selling is a record album pressed on vinyl. So it can be vinyl records or vinyl albums, but the word vinyl cannot be pluralized.

A box reducer will save you loads on shipping. That might not be the best price, it's just the first google result. I think I paid $9 from my box guy.

Protip: tape over the corners where you reduce the box. The box is a little weak there, and more likely to break.

u/nukii · 2 pointsr/PAX

I'm thinking about this one. Not sure if it's overkill.

40 inches should be more than enough for any poster I'd get at a con.

I'm not sure how this trade is logistically easier/cheaper than just buying in bulk, but I could be missing something...

u/dinahsaurus · 1 pointr/ABraThatFits

I use polymailers (I bought a stack of 100 a few years ago, still tons left - I think they're even cheaper on ebay). I have a kitchen scale that I use to weigh (include packaging), and then I just go through paypal's shipping service and put the weight from the scale plus one oz just in case of rounding error. Delivery confirmation is automatically added on, and then you can just dump it in any blue mailbox on the street.

International is different, though I still use the polymailer, I double up on it because customs is rough! If doing a mix, I'd still do the US ones at home and only go to the post office for international - it will be cheaper that way.

Make sure you only ever send to an authorized address. If you send to an unauthorized address on paypal, then you do not get seller protection and can be scammed. Along those same lines, I would caution sending a large amount of anything internationally if you are doing it through paypal - tracking can sometimes cost up to $30 and if you don't have tracking, you're not protected.
