Alright, first...Happy Early Birthday!!!
Now on to face things.
Skincare
First of all you should check out r/skincareaddiction. Even if you don't want to join the community the FAQ is great.
What I do for my normal/oily skin is every morning and every night I wash with CeraVe Foaming Face Wash which is recommended for oilier skin. So you might want to check that out.
Every 3 days or so I exfoliate with Epicuren which is just from my mom's shop but it's a nice deep scrubs without being too abrasive. You don't want abrasive like with say St. Ive Apricot scrub because you're actually tearing your skin and that's just not very nice. You want to gently exfoliate.
Once a week I use a LUSH face mask. My favorite is Love Lettuce because it's refreshing and exfoliating. Second favorite is definitely Cupcake. I feel so clean and bright after it.
Wipe off your makeup before you go to bed. It's bad for your skin and bad for your sheets. Whatever you do to take it off, just get it off. I use vaseline. It's cheap and easy on my sensitive skin.
Clean your brushes. Clean them. Seriously. What I do is after every makeup application I get a tissue and something with and edge like the edge of my dresser and I wipe the brush over the tissue over the edge to get all the excess makeup out. Then every 2 weeks I do a deep clean. Get a bar of some kind (towel rack, clothes hanger) and rubber bands. Get some warm, running water, and either some baby shampoo or some brush cleaner (though honestly I just use shampoo) and wet your brushes, bristles pointing downwards always. You don't want to get water trapped inside the little metal/plastic attaching ring thingy. Add a dot of shampoo to your hand and swish that brush around. It'll be gross. Good. You'll always remember to do it now that you know how gross your brushes get. Rinse bristles down. Dry bristles down by wrapping the rubber band around the handle and attaching to your rod/hanger.
Makeup
This is what I cannot live without
Makeup For You
So if you're just starting out again you don't want to go spending a stupid amount of money before you figure out what you like. So here are my suggestions for you specifically.
Anyway, I think you look really great and that's the best start is being confident and having a natural beauty. Also I love your hair. But if you have any questions just let me know :)
From talking to you in chat I think you would benefit a bit from a run-through of everything (products, how they're used, informative videos), so I'll just do that:
MAKEUP FACE STUFF
Okay, now we're ready to move on to the things on your face:
YOUR EYEBROWS
Hey! I was totally in this situation 6 months ago. Figuring out technique is a sort of "figure it out as you go" situation and tons of videos on youtube can help you figure it out. What I can help you with is your purchases. Figuring out what you'll need is extremely overwhelming, so here's a dirty rundown of what I've gathered so far:

Again, you don't need EVERYTHING listed above, but for my personal complete look, I require everything I mentioned. Starting off, I blew about around 300 dollars, so save money when you can. When queens joke about how they spent a lot of money to look "this" cheap, they really aren't lying. ALSO, don't be discouraged if you don't have the coin. There are tons of other resources available out there and if possible, you can always slowly acquire items over time.

Good luck! ✨
1. Hard choice, but I THINK it'd be Maybelline. They have great makeup and great bargains. Or maybe E.L.F...
2.
Face: Maybelline Fit Me concealer. That stuff is. amaze. balls.
Cheek: It's weird, but the L'Oreal Fairest Nude Lipstick, because it creates the most beautiful, natural blush.
Lip: Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon, because it's beautimous.
3. Revlon Creme Eyeshadow. I have a quad, and it's so weird. Gunky, gross, and NEVER FREAKING DRIES. Well, I mean, you know, not necessarily dry, but y'know what I mean? That stuff stays about 2 seconds on my lids before sliding off, and I don't have oily lids :(
4. A lot of stuff from E.L.F. I mean, some of their stuff really is worth that $1 you spent on it, but I've had a good experience with most of their products. The one in particular I'm thinking of is their dollar eyelash curler. Maybe I don't love on my eyelashes enough, but I think an eyelash curler is an eyelash curler, and I'd rather buy a new lip product than one of those!
5. I think CoverGirl Quads are pretty great (:
6. Physician's Formula is sorta pricey for what it is.
7. I don't have any thing 'dupeable' because all I have is drugstore:(
8. I honestly don't know, just starting out in makeup, I do a lot of research on here and MUA before buying. Most of what I've bought so far seems pretty good (:
9. Oh God, so many come to mind...I think what I'd most like to try is the Maybelline Fit Me foundation, because the concealer was so freaking amazing!!
10. I don't know... true makeup, probably either this or this. Makeup accessories probably these or these.. But the thing I seriously need that is only makeup related for me is this, because I literally sit on a bucket to do my makeup. Wow, all of that makes me sound like a spoiled brat...Just for the record, I don't expect anyone to actually get them for me, they're just high up there on my WL (: Thank you so so much for the contest!!!
Transgirl here. I'm still learning a lot but I've picked up a lot of tips.
Youtube is a great place to start. There's lots of make-up channels.
Use a primer, especially if you're going with a powder foundation, it helps everything set better imo.
I have dark beard shadow and color corrector has been a godsend. Depending on your skin tone, applying orange or like a salmon color before your foundation should help hide that immensely. I really like nyx for these.
https://www.amazon.com/NYX-Cosmetics-Concealer-Orange-0-25/dp/B004QQ1170
If you have a friend you can trust have them help you find a foundation to match your skin tone unless you're confident you can figure it out.
If you have masculine facial features a highlighting kit is your lifeline. It can really help mask things you want to cover and draw towards what you like. Again a friend who knows what they're doing really helps since every face is different, but you can get the gist online and stumble through.
Idk if you plan on using lipstick, because I didn't care for it at first, but a little extra color really helps me pass.
Eyeliner is still the hardest part for me. Like, I seriously think you just gotta practice and mess up a lot before it starts to click. Eventually your eyes will stop watering up, if they do now lol. You'll find stuff you like but it takes a lot of practice. Cis-girls have years on us lol.
I haven't done much with eyeshadow yet but find colors that work with your skin tone, lipstick whatever and make sure to blend them well.
If you have any more specific questions I'm happy to help however i can.
i know i wont be the only person to recommend CG Clump crusher mascara. It does marvelous things.
i cant imagine being without my brushes, but especially my angle brush. i like this much better than the angle brushes that tend to come with cream/gel eyeliners...much more control. its my favorite brush!
lastly, just bitten balm stain is wonderful. great color but easier than lipstick, not sticky like gloss, and lasts for hours. love love love!
happy birthday, and i hope you find some great new things to love from everyones suggestions!
hello, hello! And welcome, welcome!! (I swear I don't always speak doubly like that haha)
I am agreeing with ilessthanthreepugs when I say it really is the nicest sr I have found. Almost too nice for me probably lol
But I hope you love it as much as we do.
As someone who doesn't have a lot of product yet, I will recommend a bb cream. Since you're starting out, I will give you my first bb cream because though it's not an Asian one which I have now learned I absolutely LOVE, I do love this drugstore one too.
If you do have money to spend, I would recommend this one
BB creams are perfect for beginners, with a great mascara and cream blush.
The cream blushes I use are by L'Oreal I think ? And definitely Urban Decay
My favorite mascaras right now (I am always searching for new ones haha) are
and
What do you prefer for lipwear? I am happy to give you my favorites there too.
If there's one thing I would say to you as a beginner, is that you need a good stippling brush
Your face is a canvas and the make-up is like paint. Think about painting in layers if that helps.
That being said, here's my recommendation. You skin is your canvas so you gotta take care of it. Pay attention to your body/skin, everyone is different so use what is working for you. Exfoliate regularly, exfoliating helps clear up pores and scrub away dead skin. I do it daily, again do as much as your own skin needs to. My pores tend to clog easily so I try my best to keep it clean. I use something like this, just a slightly rougher bath sponge, squeeze a little face wash on it and lightly scrub - again this is what I do, your mileage may vary.
Regardless of how oily your skin is, moisturize it. If you have naturally oilier skin like me, use a lighter moisturizer (it feels lighter on your skin not as thick or creamy). conversely, use a heavier moisturizer if you tend to have dry skin. It doesn't necessarily have to be a "face moisturizer" product, lotions work also i've noticed. The point of all this is you want a clean and hydrated skin, it looks younger and healthier. I use, Aveeno's Men's After Shave Lotion. It get's two birds with one stone for me, aftershave plus helps keep my skin hydrated and is on the lighter side (won't feel greasy when it dries.)
The next layer in the painting would be concealer and foundation. Concealers are more pigmented "cover up" work. Using me again, i have slight rosatia/pinkness, concealers help neutralize out the redness to a more even skin tone. Foundation is a less pigmented but does the same thing essentially. Go to a Walgreen's or any drugstore and just look at the color samples. You'll want to color match to your neck so that your general face color blends in with your neck. Taking care of you skin takes time to get but when you get there you shouldn't need much concealer or foundation to even out your face. I like BB Cream No. 23, Natural Biege, matches my color fairly well.
You can pick either of those up or an equivalent product at any drugstore. People won't give you any grief, it's not too common but some males do buy coverup/concealers for acne breakouts so it shouldn't cause too much fuss to buy in person.
As far as applying blush, eyeshadow, liner brows ... the works, it's hard to type out and is best if shown to you. Beating a dead horse, watch the you tube videos and practice putting them on. You WILL get better. I did a quick look through amazon, this Shany Set seems like an okay kit. It has a various color pots to play/practice with. (color pot, the little containers that the actual make up sits in.) Your small round pots are your eyeshadows and the large round ones are your blushes. It looks like it comes with the applicators too, the fancy q-tip looking things are for eyeshadows and the bristle brush for blush. It also has the standard black and brown pencil eye liner, a pencil lip liner, lipstick and some nailpolish.
When it's all said and done, you've read all that you can or watched all the videos you've cared to watch. My best advice I can give you is take care of your skin and practice. Keep putting it on, get a feel for it and learn how certain things get applied. Eyeliner for example, you need to get used to the fact that there's something that close to your eye when you're trying to put it on. With time and practice it gets easier, your hand gets steadier and your eyes don't flinch as much.
Not my best nor my worst, but here's where i'm at on a typical day. http://i.imgur.com/C1vPsxg.jpg
Lastly, baby wipes or makeup remover wipes is good for taking it all off and these on a cotton swab is good to remove eyeliner without any trace.
Edit: words and links
My input:
I think a undereye concealer/highlighter combo could really open up and brighten you eyes. I use an ELF one that works well and is super inexpensive.
Use highlighter on your brow bones and inner corners of eyes and undereye concealer under eye before applying mascara. To blend concealer, stipple the edges but don't over blend because you want a lot of the pigment from the concealer to remain on top of your undereye circle.
The other thing I would suggest is not a traditional makeup item, but it's cheap. Get sleep, lots and lots of sleep, and drink tons of water. It will help give you a bridal glow.
Edit: also beg your mom or someone else close for an early wedding gift. Have them treat you to a facial and brow mapping. You'll look so polished for your big day!
To help with the glow, I looked up an orgasm dupe and I found this never tried it but it looks gorgeous!
For me this community has been a never ending inspiration! From pushing my boundaries and skills. To making me feel cared for and comfortable in my own skin!
Best advice: don't wait for the perfect moment, take the moment and make it perfect!
Congrats on your upcoming nuptials KP! Good luck with your no buy!
I am trying so hard to learn from you guys, and then I looked on Amazon for this "Lorac Behind the Scenes Eye Primer" and found out it was $20 for half an ounce.
Seriously, everyone, do I really have to shell out that much cash to achieve these awesome results? I am all about paying the extra amount to have the super ultimate better thing that lasts and lasts, but I am hesitant to just throw that much money at something that I am not totally 100% sure is going to be better than the primer I am using for my whole face right now. Really, for real, is that Lorac stuff that much better?
And should I really give up this WalMart/drugstore bs and just go through Amazon or some of those lovely stores like Ulta and Sephora to get the super ultimate stuff you all are always praising? Is it really, truly that much better?
Sing me the song of your peoples, my loves, because I adore and envy all of your gorgeous faces and I sooooo desperately want to try to achieve the awesome results you all have.

This stuff takes off ALL my makeup with a gentle massage. Every ounce of waterproof eyeliner and mascara comes off in under 10 seconds. When it comes in contact with water it emulsifies, leaving your face clean and soft with no oily residue. Magical stuff.
Cleanser: CeraVe Foaming Cleanser
My skin has improved leaps and bounds after introducing CeraVe to my routine. Both the cleanser and moisturizer are gentle and have improved my skin texture greatly.
BB Cream: Lioele Triple Solution BB Cream
Amazing coverage, great tone-matching and leaves my skin looking fresh and flawless. With skin brightening ingredients and SPF30, this is my go-to skin product.
Mascara: Clump Crusher
'Nuff said.
Eyeliner: Cailyn Gel Liner
A great find from Ipsy! This stuff is totally smudge-proof and with the applicator brush (included in the packaging), it goes on smooth and crisp. Perfect cat-eye every time.
Everyday Lip Colour: TONYMOLY Petite Bunny Gloss Bar in Juicy Apple
Even not including the beyond adorable packaging, I adore this lip balm. It gives a gorgeous sheer pinky hue to my lips. The formula is SUPER moisturizing and creamy. It goes on like butter, no stickiness at all. And less than 4 bucks a pop? Amazing.
i am not really sure what you mean about the eyelid thing, maybe a picture would help?
i have never used costal scents, but ive seen a few girls here make some nice looks with it. no idea on the quality. i know you said ELF is too expensive, but this palette is only 10 pounds. i have it and i like it. they are pretty good quality for a cheaper eye shadow palette. if you can afford some eye primer, the colors will look even better. i use urban decay primer potion, but that sounds like its a little out of your budget, maybe someone can recommend a cheap one!
i have combination skin (oily and dry! ughhh) and I always use liquid foundation. Powder can make the dry spots look really flaky. Revlon Colorstay is a good drugstore brand, I like it, it has good coverage and staying power, and I hear a lot of people mention it on here.
[edit] i see you are a teen and have youthful skin. if you dont get many breakouts and dont have a lot of unevenness in your skin tone, you could probably get away with a tinted moisterizer or a BB cream instead of a full coverage foundation. i recently got a sample of loreals BB cream and I was a big fan!
i really like ecotools brushes. They are good quality and relatively cheap!
Good luck!
Oh my god, I think color correcting is my calling. I posted in MUA a few months ago about my color correcting B/A (link here) and I'm a huge advocate of drugstore makeup.
These are my lifesaving products- keep in mind that although I am a medium/deep (tan) skin tone, the following correctors can work wonders for darker and lighter skin tones.
These products may be cheap, but the amount of correction to the face is astounding.
The first product is something I use everyday. I take about half a pump onto the back of my hand and go around my undereye/eye area, my muzzle discoloration and my hyperpigmented birthmarks on my face. A light, targeted layer of this instantly brightens the skin, and often times it will be enough after foundation to cancel out discoloration.
For days where I have slept less, or woken up after being dehydrated, the orange pot concealer is my best friend. I will blend this orange with a lighter skin tone concealer from the palette to create a custom correcting shade for concealing. The palette also has some peach-y tones but I find they are too light for me. When mixed, the concealer becomes this beautiful smooth and creamy formula that can be layered (lightly!) to avoid creasing, but to create a flawless finish. That concealer palette is also incredibly helpful for contouring/highlighting.
My next color correcting investments will be these products:
Destiney Godley has a great video where she uses this and loves it, so I'm pretty stoked to get it.
If you have any questions please please please let me know! I'm by no means an expert, but I do this every single time I wear makeup, and I've only gotten better at it! :)
So your best best is to get stuff from Amazon Prime. Since you don’t typically wear makeup, I think a simple look will work best for you. I’d stay away from foundation since if you’re not used to wearing it, it can feel heavy and itchy. Concealer would be good to try though, a little bit under your eyes and on any blemishes will even out your complexion without it being too much—try this: L.A. Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer, Light Ivory, 0.28 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VKIJPNE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_CPxXAbWJPHCHC
For eyeshadow, I like to blend a matte brown in my crease and then put a shimmery skin-tone color on my lid to make my eyes pop. I’ve heard good things about this one: wet n wild Color Icon Eyeshadow 10 Pan Palette, Rose in the Air, 0.3 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077V5CTXN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_rWxXAb163N4AT
I use this mascara and it works well: L'Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Washable Mascara, Blackest Black, 0.28 fl. oz. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XF2TR11/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_63xXAb0DTNT87
I like to use a glowy blush to make my skin look healthy, something like this: Milani Baked Blush, Luminoso, 0.12 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00518N2JC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_f9xXAbC4MPGHM
And lastly, I like a tinted lip balm to tie everything together. These look really pretty and taste good too! Revlon Kiss Lip Balm, Juicy Peach https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KI40DHM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_4byXAbANQY65A
These can all also be bought at drug stores, so if Amazon isn’t an option, I’d see if you can get a grocery service to pick them up for you, like Instacart maybe. Good luck!
>i think i like androgynous looks best
For androgynous looks you should focus on complexion, brows, and nude/natural lips.
Complexion: Don't neglect a good skincare regimen. This is more important than makeup imo. Cleanse, moisturize, sunscreen, and stay hydrated! Your skin will thank you.
Next, go to your closest Sephora and ask for foundation matching. Ask them about both shade and undertones. A pale warm skin will look much different than a pale cool skin. This is because of those different tones and can be really frustrating when you are just starting out. Makeup is essentially just paint for your face. Another commenter left an awesome and thoughtful reply about experimenting with applying foundation--read her entire comment because it's golden. You won't know how to do it until you try. A lot of makeup application is trial and error.
Brows: You'll need a brow pencil in a color that closely matches your natural brows, a [spoolie] (https://www.target.com/p/e-l-f-eyelash-brow-wand/-/A-15247525?sid=1316S&ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&CPNG=PLA_Health+Beauty+Shopping_Local&adgroup=SC_Health+Beauty&LID=700000001170770pgs&network=g&device=m&location=9030209&gclid=CjwKCAjw85zdBRB6EiwAov3RihqEamqHG9SOuWxNapy8z81h3YFfKl9gkCsMlFspd5_jTQPVDHZBfhoC09wQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) and some good tweezers. Focus on the shape. Clean up hairs above and below the shape you are trying to achieve. Using the spoolie, brush your brows up and trim off long hairs. Fill in the brow with the pencil, lightly at first and then darkening as you get used to it. It's just like coloring with a crayon. Brush through with the spoolie to blend the drawn brow with your natural brow. If you can't find a shape you like on your own, they make stencils (just be careful with these--it can make them too boxy or unnatural really fast).
Lips: For an androgynous look you'll want a nude or natural lip, which is great because it will be hard to mess up and even if you do the mistakes are less noticeable. It will also give you practice for later if you decide to move a more bolder route. Peachy or taupe colors starting out will be easy-peasy. For tools, a lip brush is sometimes helpful, as is a lip liner. Both will help keep your lipstick from "bleeding" or traveling outside of the lines. Draw your lip liner as close to your natural line as possible. If you do overdraw, try to keep a natural shape and also remember it will have a different texture and shade from your natural lip.
Look at reviews of products before you buy. This can give you an idea of how the product will work before you invest in it. The sidebar of the sub has a list of favorites (sometimes called hg or "holy grail") in every price range for basic products for eyes, lips, and face.
As you get more comfortable with application, you can start adding contour, smokey eyes, and darker lips for a more editorial andro look. Lastly, don't be scared--we were all newbies at one point!!
If your skin tone is on the lighter side then Asian BB creams are your friend. They come in a limited color selection and mostly in light shades but they are totally awesome!
My HG is the Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream. It’s hella cheap but great coverage and glowy. I do set with powder to make it last though.
I used to use the Skin79 Beblesh Balm but it’s a little grey tinged. But I got compliments on my skin most times I wore this. Very moisturizing and you get a lot of bang for your buck. Took me forever to go through it.
IT Cosmetics CC cream has a better shade selection (not huge but better than Asian BBs) but it’s going to cost more. Same with Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer. Both formulas are very silky and easy to blend. The Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer comes in an oil free version as well.
Hey there girl! I don't see any makeup answers yet in the comments, so I'll tackle that question.
Makeup Starter Kit
You're going to want to make sure you get tones to go with your skin, but this should provide you with a pretty solid foundation (heh). You don't need to get all of it at once, as well. The complexion corrector is pretty optional, and the rest...well, it just depends on the look you want.
As for your other questions:
Good luck! Feel free to comment or PM me if you have any questions.
I am awesome and deserve my item because I've been doing super well lately with fixing problems in my life. Huge accomplishments (For example, signing up for full time classes again, and applying for jobs...and hopefully more things like that to come). For two days straight I've been feeling well enough to leave the house, eat full meals all day, get things around the house accomplished (like packing for my move)...And then, overall just feeling...well, kinda happy today. I feel like I deserve at least a ribbon saying "good job".
This item is amazing because it would help me feel extra pretty by enabling me to do my makeup properly. It would make everything a lot smoother and blend much better. :)
Omg I ABSOLUTELY loove makeup! I love experimenting with it, I love all the pretty colors and pretty products I can buy <3 and it makes me feel pretty :) haha
2: my Hammies <3 they're so cute
3: Netflix cuz I love watching movies lol
4: I like cooking, it's kinda like makeup but with food :p
5: I like the stars and moon (:
I wouldn't mind having this (:
Too Faced Cosmetics, Shadow Insurance, 0.35 Ounce
I don't care about winning, I just like to get involved in contests, they're fun!
Moon knight
Thanks for the contest, you're awesome! <3
I concur with the new mascara sentiment. Clump crusher is good and so is maybelline's full n soft.
Elf makes a popular brow kit that comes in a few different colors. Or you could get an eyebrow pencil.
I think getting some nice brushes would be a good idea. I absolutely love elf's studio line brushes, which are $3 a piece. It depends what type of brush you would need, but I think some eye brushes would be good. The eye shadow brush, maybe an angled eyeliner brush and a large blending brush or a contouring brush. Elf can be found at target, BTW.
Wet n wild eye shadows are great. But can definitely be found at the drugstore or grocery store much cheaper.
Wet n wild lipsticks are pretty nice too as well as their lipgloss both of which can be found very cheaply at the grocery store.
Eyeliner in stick form is best from NYX, but if you want cream eyeliner, I suggest elf.
And if you want blush, I would also check out elf.
If I HAD to choose only 3 products: Concealer or BB cream, brows, powder.
A 6 product face would add color (blush, MLBB) and thickened/longer lashes (mascara).

Anyone can use these products successfully for a quick natural look! They are foolproof :)
Lisa Eldridge is a great source for beginners!
Stalk her makeup collection to see what she already has, so you don't buy doubles.
If you want to go for fancy presentation, I think you should get a few types of product, like brushes, some lip things, and some eye things.
Real techniques brushes are great, and you can get them in stores or on Amazon; here's a couple [sets] (http://www.amazon.com/real-Techniques-Core-Collection-Set/dp/B004TSFBNK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1397668617&sr=8-3&keywords=real+techniques+brushes).
The Sleek palettes are well thought of and cheap, and I don't think she'd object to getting this.
Lipstick is based a lot on skin tone, so if you want to get anything like that you should try to figure out what her undertones are. Before you panic, an easy way to guess is if she wears
gold
yellows/oranges
warm, autumnal colors
She's probably got warm undertones. You can also take a peek at her foundation to see if it has anything on there like "warm" or "neutral" or "cool" - then you can maybe take a look at the lipstick labels and compare. If a red says "true red" it's may have some blue undertones.
Ideally, you'll be able to ask a sales rep somewhere, and maybe you can bring pictures taken in natural lighting for them to get a good idea.
If you don't want to do all that, a nice assortment of tinted lipbalms (people here seem to like the baby lips ones, and they're at basically all drugstores/makeup sections in stores that have makeup sections)
And you can't go wrong with a good primer. Go to Sephora or something and pick up one of the travel size Smashbox photo-finish face primers (the travel size is a better deal, ounce per ounce) and add a few things of chocolate for good measure.
Skinfood . Every now and then if I rush and use too much, then find myself in a really humid environment - it'll crease a little but it's easy to fix with a finger or q-tip. I'm curious to see how it would behave differently with eyeshadow base under it - it's occurred to me but I just haven't tried it because I'm generally pretty satisfied with it. I never set it with powder, either, but I probably would if I used any, hah. Anyways, I like how it doesn't look muddy or painty, but still covers really well. I find it looks better with time, too, like it settles itself out. As far as my skin/eyes go - I have thin Irish skin, so I get those creases a lot from smiling and having deep set eyes. The dark circles are bluey/purpley in some places and kind of green in others. Cute, right? It's also in between my eyes on the side of my nose, so I use it there too.
edit: plus it's cheap!
You have monolids and as stated by other redditors there's communities on reddit that specifically deal with that.
I find using Asian brands helps because likely they address such issues related to monolids. I keep peddling this product but Kiss Me Heroine Mascara is great for short Asian lashes. It's waterproof and really lengthens. I have cried, sweat, taken a shower, and even swam with this mascara and it does not budge. A waterproof eyeliner is also ideal and I like Dollywink eyeliner and Kiss Me Heroine eyeliner. When you're applying make sure it dries fully and you keep steady and try not to blink.
If you are willing to take a drastic step other people deal with their monolids by using eyelid tape or glue to create "double eyelids". I find it unnecessary because there are other makeup techniques that are specific to monolids. Good luck!
Absolutely. I would look these items up on Makeup Alley, or see if Tati on youtube has reviewed them to see if they are something you would be interested in...
Coty Airspun– I think you should ask for the unscented powder since the scented one sounds overwhelming.
Catrice Cosmetics – Now this has some cult following, and it looks like Shoppers Drug Mart is starting to ship this, so the brand may be available in Canada soon! Again, check out Tati, she mentions a few.
Sonia Kashuk Brushes and Make Up – A brand that’s usually found at Target, her brushes are pretty well loved and bargain priced! I recall Target had a few other hard to find brands but I can’t think of any specifically.
Expensive brands like Hourglass and Charlotte Tilbury and Kat Von D are kinda available in Canada, but not the full line. Tarte Shape Tape (exclusively at Ulta) is a must have! Morphe is also at Ulta, another dream of mine.
Try this link too - http://www.mtv.co.uk/beauty/news/cult-us-beauty-products-not-sold-in-uk
Off topic, but I find the selection of Nike shoes and cool colours of sneakers limited in Edmonton. It’s hard with shoe size, but some of my best gifts have been these unique pieces.
Got a sweet tooth? This looks like heaven in a dessert!
I am sorry I can’t be more specific about products since it depends on skin type, complexion etc. But I hope this may help a bit, or at least you’ll learn a thing or two :D
If you're fairly new to makeup I'd look into a tinted moisturizer, face powder, a natural blush, and mascara for starters. You definitely don't want to start off too strong, especially if you don't typically wear makeup.
I hope you have a very Happy Birthday :) You are incredibly nice for giving everyone here the opportunity to win a gift that they want in honor of your bday. I would love to receive the [Garden of Eden] (http://www.amazon.com/Sleek-Makeup-Garden-i-Divine-Palette/dp/B00HSJYQII) and [Sunset] (http://www.amazon.com/Sleek-i-Divine-Sunset-Palette-Mineral/dp/B008QYALFG/ref=sr_1_9?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1395807785&sr=1-9) palettes from sleek on my birthday.
It's my party!
Damn your skin looks perfect. /jealous. Are you excited for college? I'm almost done (ahhh I feel old >.<) and I wish I wasn't. I hope you have a wonderful experience and that you find great supportive people to make memories with. (Am I being sappy? My b.)
As for makeup, I would say NYX and e.l.f. are good places to start. Personally I prefer NYX but I know a lot of people like e.l.f. so try both out. If you start out with those two, you can figure out what you really love to wear and then save up for nicer versions of them. I would also suggest Wet n Wild (super cheap but surprisingly high quality - I like their lipsticks and the Comfort Zone palette is one of my favorites). and Milani, if you can find it. I get mine at CVS, but I know some people have trouble finding it. They have nice products and don't cost a fortune. I think most, if not all, of their products are less than $10.
Looking forward to seeing you around!

If you're just starting out the biggest advice I can give you is go with ELF products. They're cheap, good products that won't break the bank if you decide all this make up stuff isn't for you.
When doing my face (i'll leave lips and eyeshadow out) here are the steps I take:
***
And you're done!
***
I would suggest looking at ELF's actualy website, as some of the prices on Amazon were really high, plus they always have great coupons!
Eyebrow Cover - Elmer's Glue, Pros-aide Cream. Raven talking about Bianca recommending it to her.
Powder - Coty Airspun is the best on the market for the cost. You can literally get it at Walmart, and for Translucent Powder the only thing that matters is the texture. Ben Nye Luxury Powder is the other standard, but it's pricier. The "girl, look how orange you fucking look, girl" powder is Topaz. A ton of queens of color use the Banana powder, and even cis women use it now because Kim K's makeup artist uses it on her. Ben Nye also makes a Super White powder that gets used over their Clown White foundation for very stark highlights, like under the brow. I believe Super White is the powder Sharon Needles uses to look ghostly. Raven's preferred pressed white powder is Mac Studio Fix in Shivering White.
Foundations - Kryolan TV Paintstick has been the industry standard for about a decade now. It used to be MaxFactor Panstik, but they discontinued it in the US. Jackie Beat bought all of it that she could in bulk when that happened, but then I think eventually switched to Kryolan. Dermablend was originally formulated to cover burns, so it also gets used. I believe Katya used it on Drag Race, if she doesn't still use it. Ben Nye Clown White is the product that Nina accused everyone of stealing from her, and is an incredibly versatile product. Manila Luzon used it in her makeup tutorial to cover her black brows.
Eyeshadows - Sugarpill Pro Palette is pretty ubiquitous at this point, but they were founded in like 2010 so there are still old-school queens who are holdouts. Bulletproof and Tako are just about the best black and white eyeshadows on the market. Trixie and Farrah both use Dollypop constantly. On the other hand, they mostly concentrate on crayola colors and less on browns. La Femme and Mac are basically responsible for Raven's beige face. Miss Fame uses a lot of Cozzette Infinite Eyeshadow.
Lip Pencils - MAC are basically the standard. Nothing else comes to mind. I've used drug store pencils, but these are the only ones I've gone out of my way for. Sharon swears by Nightmoth lip liner.
Lip Color - OCC Lip Tar used to be everywhere, but Jeffree Star seems to have put them out of business. Traditional lipsticks are easy to make, so basically any drugstore brand does the job if you can find a color you like.
Highlighters - Jeffree Star Skin Frost, Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit. These didn't used to be a thing. In Manila's 2011 makeup tutorial she used dots of MAC loose pigment in Vanilla for this purpose, and that was kind of groundbreaking because it was how her face didn't look matte after being powdered to hell.
Thanks for the response! For brushes do you think just ordering something like this or this would be good? I have no idea what half of them are for but ~$1 per brush (+case on the one) seems like a pretty good deal. Like it looks like the case one has one of those little angle brushes which I think I've seen used with eyeliner goop stuff I think but the other doesn't. And for eye shadow do you think just getting a giant thing like this would be smart? It seems cheap and there are so many colors so I'd have no problem figuring out which ones I like hahaha.
I've been a professional makeup artist for over a decade and have worked with many male celebrities. When it comes to simple male grooming, I follow these steps:
First of all, yes to moisturizer. Yes, yes, yes. That alone will give life to and even out your skin. It will make every product you put on afterwards apply more evenly. Put it on directly out of the shower and let it sink into your skin while you get dressed. I prefer Clinique Dramatically Different or Cetaphil. Both are unscented and don't leave a residue. They absorb quite well.
http://m.sephora.com/product/P122900
For dark circles, make sure you are using a liquid concealer under your eyes, as opposed to a cream. Liquid is much more appropriate for under eye skin texture as its less cakey and less likely to form creases in fine lines. My favorite under eye concealer is MAKE UP FOR EVER's Lift Concealer. Easy to find online. A tube will last you a long time. It is the best under eye concealer I've found on the market, and I've tried many. http://m.sephora.com/product/P12661
Make sure you are aren't going with a color that is too light, as that will look obvious. Against popular opinion, do not use a shade lighter under your eyes. The key is to use a peachy shade. This will counteract the blue tone present in dark circles. It will cover much more effectively than a lighter shade. It will also look more natural. You can alternatively buy an ORANGE correcting concealer to mix with your current concealer. It should drastically enhance whatever coverage you are currently getting. http://www.amazon.com/NYX-Cosmetics-Concealer-Orange-0-25/dp/B004QQ1170
For enlarged pores, I suggest a pore refining primer. I love Dr. Brandt's Pores No More. Put it on at the very end of your routine. It will erase any visible pores. It's my favorite last step.
https://www.birchbox.com/shop/dr-brandt-pores-no-more-pore-refiner-0-5-oz?CAWELAID=120228020000003050&CAGPSPN=pla&gclid=CM-mjZPnqMsCFUiPfgod0psMVw
Also, make sure your eyebrows are tidy. Not overly groomed, but I always use a clear eyebrow gel to keep them in place.
Lip balm or chapstick is also great for a finishing touch.
I can understand that, you don't want to be work inappropriate. If you want a very heavy coverage, Tarte Amazonian Clay is great, though on the pricy side. I rarely wear that though, since it's quite heavy (I usually cut it with some lotion). And it might be a bit of a splurge for a college budget anyway.
I really like Missha Perfect Cover BB, which is cheaper and more of a medium coverage. It makes my skin look nicer, but doesn't give that flat look that a really heavy foundation can bring. I hope one of those BBs works for you! Are they the Skin79 samples?
Blush is a hard line for me to walk, I have to look overly pink when I first apply it, or it seems invisible in an hour. I really like CoverGirl blushes, actually. NYX has some nice ones too.
I love gel eyeliner, I use it a lot. I have trouble with pencils smudging and liquid coming off where my eye waters.
I use eyeshadow primer, eyeshadow, black gel eyeliner (Maybelline Eye Studio), mascara (benefit Bad Gal Lash), eyebrow stuff (currently a brow pencil), and undereye concealer and blush. If I put a BB or foundation on, I will try to contour too.
Whoo, this is so long, sorry! I have entered a few competitions, but not for awhile (laziness). I actually won one, it's really fun to test your skills!
Since I have re-asserted myself with eating better and exercise, and since I made it a solid goal to do my first walking 5k on Memorial Day, several of my friends have followed my inspiration and started working out, or eating better, or a few have even joined my Fierce Fatties team for Color Me Rad. I've also inspired others to quit smoking after I quit on March 13, 2012. :)

I tried my best to help! Good luck!
More than a specific brand, I'd say learning how to properly tightline has helped me the most. You don't want the liner to be over your lashes or on your waterline (more likely to cause smudging). The liner needs to be placed on the root of your lashes. Practice makes perfect!
If you're a fan of pencil, Rimmel Scandal Eyes is a popular choice.
Gel? Maybelline Eye Studio or Wet n Wild Mega Eyes.
I, personally, have yet to find a pencil or gel that didn't smudge on me (regardless of price), so I prefer liquid. Physician's Formula is a good drugstore option. I also love love LOVE Asian liners like Clio, Dolly Wink, and Kiss Me Heroine.
I had a long stretch of time to myself last night and plenty of time to do makeup without rushing, so I thought I would pull out the Shiros that I got last week for u/lecatprincess's All Aglow contest.
I'm new to glitter (thought before that my wrinkly ol' eyelids couldn't tolerate glitter or shimmer in any way), and haven't used loose pigments in a while, so I knew this could be a mess. And in fact, even pat-pat-patting the color on, I had to wipe off my first eyes because using I'll Move That For You over Wildflowers resulted in my looking like I had been punched in the eye by someone very glittery and fabulous.
Please ignore my messy eyelashes - I decided to go all-out and put on Ardell individual lashes and they don't play nicely with be-mascaraed eyes (at least not ones wearing They're Real) so my lashes look messier than usual (I need a good comb, mine does not do the trick; recommendations welcome!).
Here's mah face without the spotlighting: eyes open and eyes closed.
Face
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer
CoverGirl Clean Whips Foundation in 310
Benefit Fakeup
This concealer with the darkest shade for contour and the lightest not-white shade for highlight (this was my first time trying contour with creams instead of powders)
TheBalm Instain Blush in Argyle
Cindy Loumanizer
NYX Taupe for contour because I think I was too tentative with the cream contour
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
Eyes:
NYX HD lid primer
Shiro Wildflower on lid (I think despite the pic I got pretty even coverage, I think the sparse area in the pic is a lighting issue)
Shiro Elite Four in crease and outer lid
Shiro Twighlight Realm in outer corner of lid
TheBalm Mary Loumanizer on brow bone
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner on top lid (/u/Quixle, I LOVE THIS!)
CoverGirl eyeliner of indeterminate name and shade on lower lashline (I will look it up if you'd like, it's a pencil with a smudge sponge on the other end and I got it free with a CG coupon my daughter gave me)
They're Real on top lashes
Lash Discovery on bottom lashes
Lips:
NYX Tea Rose
Stila Color Me Pretty Convertible Color Palette in Kitten just in center of lips for a little sheen
Can see the freedom of happiness in your eyes. Keep going!
Also, would love to introduce you to my best friend I found for brows when I was 17. Set me right forever on my makeup practice: e.l.f. Cosmetics Eyebrow Stencil Kit for Perfectly Shaped Brows, Contains 4 Reusable Stencils https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00373FE76/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_uF.RCbCKQ8X8H
Happy early birthday!!!
The cheapest thing on my wishlist are these eyebrow stencils https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00373FE76/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_1SHXtb1H1TX38PSF?ie=UTF8
I have so many hobbies! Probably because i am literally interested in everything I always wanna learn more.
I do some beading and wire jewelry work, I like this one for one my anxiety is really bad because concentration helps me get over the feelings I get.
I am into cooking, specially after a long day at work, it helps me get my frustration with people out into something positive.
I am into automotive work, I love the feeling of having fixed something that was broken, because my life sometimes breaks and I can't fix it, plus its a great way to get out frustrations when you can't hit the person you're mad at, and there is a satisfaction when a guy says you cant cuz youre a girls and you show them.
I love photography, this mostly because I do it woth my SO and its something fun we do together, and we can pretty much do it where ever and when ever we want.
These are my main hobbies although there are a million other things I wanna do/try.
Oh woah! What the heck? lol I got mine from this retailer on Amazon. Hope it works out for you! :)
Thanks for your kind words, I love putting together these pictorials, it was a pleasure. Thanks for checking out the blog! <3
1. Cleanser -link - Remove dirt, really powerful. It has gotten rid of my blackheads, and I had a lot.
2. Exfoliator -link - Only whenever my skin can handle it. Will get rid of all of that flakey skin you have for a smooth finish. It'll make your skin 100% smooth without flakes after 1 use.
3. Essence -link - Skin treatment after exfoliator, replacement for toner. Repairs damaged skin as well and is good protection.
Finally, any Korean BB Cream that goes well with your skin tone. A good BB cream is protective tinted moisturizer to hide your imperfections. Asian BB Cream products are way superior than the American versions.
I would recommend this for you as good BB Creams if you're ever interested:
Choice One - Link - Whitening, Wrinkle Repair, Moisturizer, Tinted, Sunblock. This one is a bit stronger.
Choice Two - Link - Whitening, Wrinkle Repair, Moisturizer, Tinted, Sunblock. This one is more popular.
Happy up and coming birthday! How old will you be?
My fall colours this year is going to be metallic golds, bronze, and coppers! If I had to pick one I would pick gold. I don't have a huge degree of gold in my collection right now but last time I was at MAC I fell in love with [bronze shimmer] (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6NVXkyf7zaM/UHNOQODLeRI/AAAAAAAAEMU/ciHseN6D19w/s1600/DSC_6071.jpg)
If I were to win I would love [this] (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008QYALFG/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=14RYYEZAF8S22&coliid=I3VE9TBMGVEN6V&psc=1) sleek palette.
I'm gonna tag my girl /u/ambskiii to enter!
It's my party! For my birthday, which is in a few months, I would love to receive this contour palette because I need to make myself look like I have a bone structure haha, and I would also love to receive this brush set because I am in desperate need of brushes! Thanks for the contest and happy birthday!
I'll start off : not exactly drugstore but cheaper than Sephora. I have my holy grail eyeliner and mascara so I'm never tempted to buy anything else at Sephora or drugstore. I'm at more than 15 repurchase for both of these are $10-11 per item
Kiss Me eyeliner
Kiss Me mascara
Look around Amazon for cheaper options (with slower shipping). I value no-smudge as most important for eye makeup. Staying power is second. With any other eye makeup, I have to constantly wipe under my eye from smudge/flake. With these two, I can confidently go all day without checking for smudge. Every time try new stuff, I end up coming back to these two. These are the only eyeliner/mascara that I've paid for for about 5-6 years. Others were obtained as samples/gifts only
Kat von D tattoo eyeliner has been comparable but didn't perform any better than kiss me eyeliner to justify paying more than double. Haven't tried stila eyeliner
I have yet to find mascara that will make me give up on kiss me (Marc Jacobs, UD, Nars, Bobbi Brown and countless others have failed). The only one I am interested in trying (and have no comparison for) would be better than sex
Edit: hyperlink fixed
I'm also assuming that you are still learning makeup basics, so here's a list of a few things that I think would make a solid set which you can find on amazon or, most likely, at your local drugstore and won't break the bank:
In total, all this will run you about $100. Not cheap and I'm sure others have better suggestions but I hope this helps a bit.
Here are a couple great wallet friendly drugstore items that she might like and I've included links so you can see what they look like - I didn't go into things like concealer or foundation because she needs to pick out the right color herself but if she wants recommendations for those just let me know :)

You can't go wrong with CoverGirl Clump Crusher. So good.
As for undereye - most people seem to favor NARS creamy radiant concealer or Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer. The former is thicker and more pigmented; the latter is thinner and has a dewier finish with slightly less coverage.
That said, to counteract the blues you have in your inner corner and undereye (which are honestly very slight! You're normal!), you could try careful application of a salmon corrector. I really love this one. Pretty sure NYX makes one too.
Love your hair!
I'm older too, and have a fistful of concealers for my genetic dark circles. One thing that worked for me (where nothing else ever had) was Onomie: I bought the $4 sample, and thought it was another not so great concealer. I used it up because I was too cheap to throw it out. But then I noticed my eyes looking ... better.
So, I use Onomie and then NYX yellow color corrector, or this product I found on /r/asianbeauty. Tarte, Shishedo, Amazing Concealer, Benefit, all settle into the wrinkles. Definitely agree that a very light dust of powder helps.
Happy birthday!! I turned 26 last month!
If it were my birthday again, I'd love to get the Sleek Vintage Romance palette! I got my first Sleek item earlier this year, and I love it!!
It's my party!
I haven't tried the Too Faced Mascara Melt Off but I use a similar product (KIss Me Heroine Make Mascara Remover) and it's the best remover I've ever had. Swipe it on like mascara and in less than a minute I can just blot off even the strongest waterproofs... and it's less than half the cost of the Too Faced one.
Happy birthday! Woot woot! I would like another Sleek palette if it's my birthday! It's my party! No, actually it's woolybooly's party :)
Yay! Hope I win, thanks for hosting. I'd love to try this out!
I actually played CAH yesterday with my friends. My favorite moment was probably putting down "Pedophiles" for "_____: kid-tested, mother-approved." I have a picture on my phone, but too lazy to upload.
Just getting started with some makeup. Need basics.
Thanks for the contest. I hope you have fun with your new CAH cards :)
I've convinced myself I NEED the Sleek Vintage Romance palette. So. Pretty. I've been wishing for it forever! Hope you feel better and thank you for hosting :)
Covergirl Clump Crusher is my recent go to mascara. It's clean, lengthening, water proof and dark!
Here is me wearing it and it is on my wishlist!
I love mascara, I don't go a day without it and this is perfect for every day! I also love St. Patty's Day! Happy St. Patty's!
My advice: go ham at home, assuming you live in a safe space and slooooowly ease into it outside. One piece of clothing at a time. A tiny bit more makeup than last time. You get the picture. It's very easy to get a look you're not intending to have by "overshooting" to the fem side immediately.
As for makeup, try starting with a BB cream and some super subtle blush.
I love how Milani Luminoso works for me. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00518N2JC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_e9YNDb17BYT43
Thanks for hosting!!
Here is my pup Lilly! She's a rat terrior mix. She's almost 3 years old and a huge cuddle bug.
Lilly is OBSESSED with my (mean) cat, who's name is Kitty. Kitty just kinda comes and goes as he pleases. He's old and grumpy!
BONUS picture of my sister's new puppy (I'm obsessed with him) [Teddy!!](http://i.imgur.com/zWlXLub.jpg} He's a maltipoo and sooo cute and fluffy.
Some funny pictures: my family was trying to get a "family photo" with Lilly, Teddy, and my brother's dog (Tucker) and this is what happened.....chaos.
Edit- from my wishlist I would take this Sigma brush and this milani blush.
I don't know if it's the coolest but it's definitely something that I need
Yes, it's an add-on item, but it is available from third party vendors for $3.71 with free shipping!
My go-to is this foundation mix-in by Manic Panic:
Manic Panic Virgin Dreamtone Gothic Foundation Vampire White (1 fl oz) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004SUGXWC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_VEWGDbBFC8388
Unfortunately it doesn't work all on its own and has to be mixed with ordinary foundation, but if used this way, it works wonders. If you can find a good mousse foundation in your skintone (or lighter if preferred), mix an equal amount of the white with that on a beauty blender and then apply to your skin.
Of course, if you want more white, you can use more of the white stuff than normal foundation in your mixture.
Looks divine if topped with a white powder. :)
I hope multiple ones are allowed! There are all under $18 :)
We have:
Too faced shadow insurance
Smashbox High definition concealer in fair
e.l.f mineral eyeshadow primer
NYX powder blush in Taupe
Ardell fashion lash starter kit
L'Oreal Voluminous butterfly mascara
and Lorac Skinny palette
Thanks so much for the contest! I hope its open internationally, I'm in Australia :) I'm sorry there's a few, I couldn't choose! :D
Yes! I got so excited when I saw this! You look great. The lip color and the brows are perfect. My only CC is to take this look one step further and use a highlighter on your cheekbones (or a more highlighting blush) and nose to capitalize on your beautiful skin and bone structure.
I've never used the Lora liner, but It looks like it may be really similar to this Maybelline Master Precise liner. I love this liner and it's pretty inexpensive.
Oh man! That is pretty pale. I'm on the "darker" end of "light" shades, so I don't know much about foundations for the very fair. But my friend who is very pale recommends mixing in a white foundation (she uses this one). Maybe try that? Sorry I can't help very much xD
I was going to suggest the other Vice palettes but I realize that's stupid given that you'd have to probably pay an obscene amount for those... lol. Sleek (I believe it's an AUS brand??) has some good options. They're a drugstore brand but I've read great reviews, esp. about the Sunset Palette (http://www.amazon.com/Sleek-i-Divine-Sunset-Palette-Mineral/dp/B008QYALFG/ref=pd_sim_bt_5?ie=UTF8&refRID=0WJSJS5XTAE4D7M1D6WY). Luckily, you can get Sleek palettes through Amazon and avoid international shipping if you're from the U.S.!
I'm definitely a neutral shadow lover so I don't have any great suggestions for you. I just purchased the LORAC Mega Pro (large neutral+color selection), but that might be hard for you to get... Ah, sorry!
Heroine has their own mascara remover. It works pretty well but... if you wear Heroine everyday, you'll run out of it quickly.
What I do now is wearing a lash primer (Etude House dr. mascara fixer) before applying Heroine. By the end of the night, I use an oil cleanser and slather it all over my lashes. I wait 5 minutes then it removes completely. No rubbing needed.
Happy birthday Woolybooly23! I hope you have a great birthday tomorrow.
I'm still fairly new to makeup, but one of the things on my list I would really like to try out is this
http://www.amazon.com/Sleek-i-Divine-Sunset-Palette-Mineral/dp/B008QYALFG/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=2JDVUMWANO951&coliid=I2LECQDZJPL3RA
Thank you for hosting this, it's very nice of you :D
Top 5:
$5 Item from my WL This particular one is an add-on item, but other vendors have it for sale with free shipping.
I got 5 on it
WOOHOO 5k!!!
I share your woes as a pale girl. I just bought the Manic Panic Foundation/Corrector in Virgin White off of Amazon and am very happy with it:
http://www.amazon.com/Manic-Panic-Virgin-Dreamtone-Foundation/dp/B004SUGXWC/ref=sr_1_14?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1407865966&sr=1-14
I mix it with my liquid foundation through, so if you're looking for something a little more pigmented that would blend better with a mousse, it looks like the Life's Entropy Foundation Elixir in white would do the trick. (Disclaimer: I haven't tried it yet):
http://shop.lifesentropy.com/collections/764502-face/products/8198466-foundation-elixir-white
Hope that helps! :)
Yep! For Adalab- this would be nice because biking is a good way to stay fit. And for LTTM, this to help her stay looking good!
I learned with this one on amazon. Super cheap and worked great! I liked the price because I was practicing all the time so I didn't feel bad or like it was a waste when I would redo it a million times.

Something that makes me self conscious is that I have self injury scars all over my lets and stomach and upper arms. However, I've grown to not be ashamed of my past and I totally flaunt booty shorts, swimsuits, and sleeveless tops now!
Awesome idea, thanks so much!

I've never had a primer, I hear they're useful.
Happy you're alive, Tara!
If I win, I would like this from my Makeup list.
I am really really glad you daughter is ok. Traffic accidents can be scary.
Thank you! You're lovely. I've posted to /r/skincareaddiction. I've really been trying to look a bit more put together!
So something like this for eyes? I totally almost bought the lip butter before too! Darn it. (By the way, you were right about my eyebrows. Part of the reason I picked these glasses was to get away with not plucking them. heh)
I've honestly got no clue what kind of colors to buy though. Those are right in my price range, though. Thanks~ Sorry, by the way. I thought I looked at the side bar okay!
Can we do multiple? :) I've been in a real rut lately so maybe doing all the princess looks will get me back into make up again
Here's Meg from Hercules!!!!! :) Hope you guys like it!!

I go back and forth between using a primer and not, but I always use setting powder.
For reference, my skin type is Dehydrated/Combo leaning a little more towards oily. I use Skin79 Green BB Creme, Nivea After Shave Balm For Men (Non-AB) as a Primer, and Coty Air Spun Original (Non-AB) as a setting powder.
I have a desk job where I don't do much and generally wear lighter makeup, so usually I'll skip my primer. However, if I'm going out or planning to wear heavy makeup, I always do a primer, setting spray, and setting spray (just in case because of how oily my skin can get).
I'm planning on ditching my primer eventually and looking into Innisfree No Sebum Powder as my setting powder because of how highly recommended it is for oily people! I'll be eyeing this thread for primer recommendations :)
I suggest at least getting a setting powder and seeing if that does the trick. If not, try finding a primer that works for your skin and see if that help. If that doesn't work, add a setting spray and hopefully that should do the trick!
Kiss me heroine liquid eyeliner! It's a japanese brand that make super water-proof mascara. I went through probably 10 of those eyeliners. It's my holy-grail eyeliner. It's about 14$ on Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/Kiss-Me-Heroine-Smooth-Liquid/dp/B005F751WK
I adore matte eyeshadows, and the colors on this just look so gorgeous! Thanks for hosting this awesome contest, and congrats in your win!
What makes me beautiful!
This ELF studio face primer or minty nails. Both are on my beauty wishlist. :)
I have Petal Pusher and it's pretty nice. Comfort Zone is good, too, though probably not what you're looking for :)
I love the manic panic one! People don't think much of manic panic when it comes to makeup but I found out about it from some pale girl blog and a lot of pale girls swear by it. It allows us to buy the correct undertone and then just lightening it instead of having to wear something yellow to get the Right shade or pink etc. it also make expensive makeup last longer and doesn't really mess with the formula at all. I just mix a little on the back of my hand or on a glass ashtray I bought as a mixing palette. here's the best link to it
Yes! Their shadows are VERY pigmented. I have this and DO NOT REGRET IT. Some of the smoothest stuff I have. Some make up swells my face red, this is nice dry/wet. Their glosses and blushes set well on me too. I haven't tried the primer yet, and none of the brushes yet, but for a lower tier make up it's amazing! I will be getting this set too ASAP. Also, I usually get clumps when using wet 'shadows, and I have not come to that with this brand at all. :)
This looks so different from the photos of it on amazon! Thanks for posting this photo so we can see what it really looks like =). I think I want one now I can see the colors properly! Have fun with it!
Here's the online photo for comparison
Gotcha.
I see amazon does have mac, and it looks like its sold by mac but I am leaning toward the lorac & stila. Do you have an opinion on the quality of stila's eye shadow pallets? The in the garden seems to have pretty favorable review.
I decided to throw in one of those all day lipsticks that you mentioned, too!
Well my favorite palettes are this one (I didn't buy it for quite that much. Haha! I got it for about a fifth of that price.) and this one. Looks like the In the Garden is on sale again!
I agree with /u/OneGreatSham. I have the "Let them Eat Cake" palette and find it dry, chalky and barely pigmented. In addition to the advice other people have given, I would try buying eye shadows that are more pigmented. Something like the Sleek I-divine sunset palette is pretty reasonably priced and rated really high by temptalia. You can find it on amazon for around $11.50 shipped. Hope this helps!
A thinner brush may do the trick. A liquid liner also makes for more even lines. My favorite is actually a Japanese brand, KissMe Heroine Make Eyeliner. The bristles are flat and tapered so that you can make very fine, precise lines. Stila Stay All Day is also very popular on this sub. It has a felt tip applicator.
Maybe try out the Sleek Vintage Romance palette. It's got a shade like the one you're looking for (there's a picture of a swatch in the customer photos). I have two Sleek palettes and they're not expensive ($10-$15 on average) and the quality is great!
https://www.amazon.com/Sleek-Makeup-i-Divine-Palette-Vintage/dp/B00F4TUSJ0
That's the one. :) If I use a primer, it stays pretty well.
I also likethis one for drug store felt tip liner. And right now I'm using Stila stay all day liner which is a felt tip. But it's $20. Haha
Some colors are better than others, but the blendability of this palette (their Spring palette) seems to be much worse than their other 100 color palette which I find most of the colors highly pigmented, blendable and just generally pretty.
Some of the colors in the Spring palette are highly pigmented, but very difficult to blend. Some of them are great. I find the ones with lots of shimmer tend to be pigmented, but difficult to blend.
I also don't really like the color choices, too many brights, not enough natural, but I guess that's the point.
I really recommend the other palette over the Spring one.
And it's always $10 on Amazon, free shipping if you have Prime.
Brace Face
Pink and Aqua because it is spring, they are really fashionable colours right now, and they go really well together. Also, I should mention, they are my two favourite colours, so a bit biased, but hope you enjoy my little dark pinks at the ends just for a bit of snazzing and highlighting!
I had never heard of tight lining!
Will definitely try that once I get a better eyeliner - I have a cheap old liquid one that I tried to demonstrate with but the stupid picture wouldn't upload.
On the E.L.F. front - I didn't realise they did palettes too! This one is incredibly good value...it's just the brushes that were a litte hefty for me!
Should I go for subtle, neutral palettes or just colourful ones? The colourful ones look wonderful but I'll have to amp up my clothing so I can wear them everyday (another thing I'm working on...)!
Ok, first, take a deep breath! This is a very emotionally taxing time.
Next, get yourself some eyebrow stencils like this and use a brightly colored eyeliner (I use teal blue or white) to trace the shape that you want. Pluck everything outside of the shape you traced. Then fill in any gaps with a matching eyebrow pencil. Hope this helps!
I use Japanese liquid eyeliners; a lot of them go on smooth and have fine brush tips.
Here's one very popular in Asia that I have been using for two years because I have monolids and my eyeliner tends to smudge at the outer corners but this one doesn't: KissMe Smooth Liquid Eyeliner Plus, it's very similar to the KVD tattoo eyeliner but costs waaay less.
And this is a list of recommended Japanese eyeliners I found online:https://tokyobeautybook.com/2016/09/09/5-of-the-best-japanese-drugstore-liquid-liners/ All of the listed eyeliners sell well in Japan, and my mom uses the Mote eyeliner and she likes it very much.

What makes me beautiful!
This looks interesting!
Great contest idea!
I'll definitely let you know! Actually, I was recently glammed this fantastic palette and it's GREAT to help with redness and when I'm having bumpy skin days, but I can't seem to get it to work as well with the bags under my eyes.
And someone else over there just rec'd their dedicated Mascara Remover which I have not personally tried but I have generally heard is a good product :)
The Skinfood Dark Circle Corrector is my holy grail and I've tried every corrector in Sephora! I love it for what it does and the price! You have to warm it up a bit in your fingers before you place it under your eye and I usually put another brightening concealer over it but it's truly magic for me.

It's always awesome when things come out a lot cheaper than you expected.
I love these
Fly away home!
Does anyone know if this Isehan heroine make mascara remover in tube form is the same as this formula in the bottle? I love the wand applicator to directly apply it on my lashes and if it's the same I'll just decant into the tube :D
I really like this one, which is sometimes sold in a set with Kiss Me Heroine mascaras.
I'm pale too, and these are what I'd recommend:
For dry/normal/combination skin
If you have super oily skin like me
Or you can try both since each are only ~$12!
Here's a better link. OP's link came out pretty funny for me.
Sleek has a simple one
This one is a generic one that several brands sell
Bh cosmetics has this one
I don't have any of these but I've been considering them- I don't know much about their quality, but I would guess Sleek has a good one. Hope someone else can give you more feedback!
1.)I enjoy watching things on netflix. My current obsession is Bobs Burgers or Death Note. I recommend something more kid friendly. A cartoon maybe.
2.)My favorite subreddit is /r/nosleep because there are so many stories to read and I love the thrill of a scary story.
3.)I want my mommy.
This is my item, for when I need to hide my eye bags from staying up all night.
Ima cheapskate
For youuu there's Too Faced Shadow Insurance if yo don't have it already. I love it as a primer. For an addon...elf high def loose powder! I've been eyeing it for quite awhile and I think it would be awesome to try instead of the tinted powder that I have!
I made a post a couple of days ago talking about this $10 Frola Cosmetics powder Contour palette (which has since become a $6.50 add on item... Amazon, you so silly), and promised a more high quality post of how I use it, so here we are! I tried my best to give breakdowns of exactly how I use each color in the description of the imgur album, but if I've left anything unclear or you have any specific questions feel free to ask! I also did My contouring and highlighting slightly more heavily than usual so hopefully you can see what I'm talking about more easily.
Here's a product list of everything I used:
[thats what makes me beautiful] (http://www.amazon.com/l-f-Studio-Mineral-Infused-Primer/dp/B004DIXYWG/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1377024420&sr=8-6&keywords=makeup+setting+spray)
this is my moms favorite and i need to get her a b day gift :) ( i dont have money :P)
I just got this. It's pretty good! I like it a lot.
I use a clean mascara wand I salvaged from an old mascara to comb through my lashes :)
This product gets rave reviews and has a really good price/quality/quantity ratio.
Ooh, that looks nice! Definitely not my eye shape, though. =/ Mine's pretty much like this. Part of the problem is I'm not sure what I want to do with my eyes - I guess I just want to emphasize them, since I like the color, but I'm not sure how one would go about doing that, and I'd imagine there are lots of different ways!
I actually have a ton of other eyeshadow sets/palettes, but they mostly go unused because I have no idea what to do with them, and I don't want to waste them on my terrible experiments! (Which I know is counterproductive, sigh.) The one I use for playing around is the Shany Bold and Bright palette. I also have a couple of these from ELF in purple and grey/black, but they don't have the greatest pigmentation, and unfortunately I don't think the colors look too great on me. :( About a year ago I ordered Shiro's Hobbit collection, which is so gorgeous, but I've barely used it because I don't want to waste it - and also because I don't think I can handle loose minerals yet, lol. Finally, I just ordered a few palettes from ELF (Studio Prism Eyeshadow in Naked and Sunset, and Studio Baked Eyeshadow in California and Texas), as well as Sleek Makeup's i-Divine Eye Shadow Palette in Vintage Romance, and I'm planning on ordering Coastal Scents' Revealed Palette... so I really need to get my shit together before these all arrive.
So basically I think I gravitate towards browns/bronzes, which do go well with my eyes, but I would love to get some golds, pinks, and blues (preferably of the turquoise variety) in there. I'll check out some of the color combos on the Makeup Geek website!
I bought this contour palette after it was suggested by another user on here. I love it! It's soo cheap and HUGE! It's really only for lighter skinned gals, though.
It's my party!
What I want most is actually a Sleek palette too! Vintage Romance or Garden of Eden
Happy birthday!
Is it this it?
I have been lusting after the NARS Radiant Creamy concealer and the Copacabana multiple stick to use as a highlighter. However, spending $70+ on these two is kinda outta my range right now, especially when there are such inexpensive palettes on the market such as this one. I've heard such great things about the NARS concealer though so I might save for a couple weeks just for that..
Moisturizer, Orange NYX Concealer, Dermablend Cover Cream, Mousse Foundation, then a Powder = no shadow. It takes work, but it's effective :)
Great contest. Thanks for hosting! hopscotch
I am in serious need for a new liquid eyeliner so I am gonna go with this:
http://www.amazon.com/Maybelline-Studio-Master-Precise-Eyeliner/dp/B006UET4XE/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=1DKXWYBXXGK56&coliid=I2VJ1DIBON257G
Here is my when my little brother (12) tried doing my makeup!
Usually drugstores carry it- my local Walgreens and CVS do. I've seen it at target, too. If you still cant find it, I'd say that here would be your best bet. :)
I really love In the Garden, but I don't know if I could pull off those bright colors!
FYI, that palette is currently $21 on Amazon, and ships for free if you have Amazon Prime!
Also!! Whenever I use a higher coverage foundation that doesn't quite match, I mix the foundation with manic panic's white foundation. This makes pretty much any foundation workable :)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004SUGXWC/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1453692096&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=manic+panic+white+foundation&dpPl=1&dpID=31nTKQJvUtL&ref=plSrch
Use eyebrow stencils!
Sephora sells them but they're pretty pricey:
m.sephora.com/classic-stencils-P69600
There's a much cheaper version on amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00373FE76/ref=redir_mdp_mobile
I like using Maybelline liquid eyeliners. This one is great, and affordable.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006UET4XE
I'm looking for brands like Tarte, UD, Lorac, NARS, Stila, and Benefit. For example,
There's a seller on amazon that has it with free shipping
Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Collection 738 Comfort Zone https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007L51ET8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_oY2lyb2B5GRTT

Thank you for the wonderful review! Would this be the same product?
3.I would like to win because I love getting stuff in the mail but who doesnt :)
4.Moon Knight
5.I can do that
There are three things on my list like that too...
Did anyone gift me this lipstick or this eyeshadow or this marinade?
And for the most waterproof mascara I've ever encountered, I recommend Heroine Make Kiss Me mascara which is actually so waterproof that you need their special mascara remover. You could swim across the Pacific and it wouldn't come off.
[Also, as a female almost-MS2 currently doing an IM preceptorship, this makes me feel less ridiculous for putting on makeup every day so I don't scare off people.]
pretty please with a cherry on top :)
my fave mascara
my fave liner
I am WISHING for you to feel better sooner rather than later, lady! Arthritis is a bitch and a half, especially when it's cold out.
Too Faced's Better Than Sex has been on for a while. Also Clump Crusher and this sunscreen!
Manic Panic Dreamtone is a nice white mixer that is affordable. I get it from Amazon. Works great! Link
I've used Manic Panic's white foundation (here on Amazon for $9) to lighten a few different foundations and I really like it. It looks naturally lighter and mixes in well. I didn't notice a change to the consistency or finish.
That's an interesting applicator. I use Shadow Insurance and just pat it on with my fingertip. Have you used the applicator kind? I'd be squeamish about the plastic stick near my eyeball, lol.
I have always wanted to try eyeshadow primer.
I hear it is a must have for eyeshadow enthusiasts!
"Killer Queen" is a great Queen song and the 678 part is random. :)
I really love this Skinfood in Bloom Skinfood ($7) for a creamy concealer, and for a thicker one for sleepless days, I use the Pixi Correction Concentrate in peach Pixi ($12).
Manic panic white foundation! I bought mine on Amazon [try this! ](Manic Panic Virgin Dreamtone Gothic Foundation Vampire White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004SUGXWC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_5Vv7xb3CNP9EE) you could mix it with your current foundation to make it a lot paler or just go for the white foundation look to get a more original Harley look! Have fun!!
A lot of people seem to like this. I've never tried it though so I can't really say if it's good or not.
I don’t have any overdue library books!
I've been wanting to try this face powder! The reviews look really solid and with summer coming up any efforts to keep things matte is good.
I use aha cream for wrinkles and a good concealer makeup as well.
Cream
Concealer
The concealer I use is a lot like erase paste by benefit but much cheaper.
Eye shadow primer: the greatest thing in existence
Let's take a look at the colour wheel: http://student.iamchaka.com/design_img/color_colorwheel.png
Beard hair tends to be blueish. Notice what's across from blue? Orange!
As /u/DoubleSurreal said, you could use orange lipstick for this, but orange concealer will probably work eve better. Here's an example: http://www.amazon.com/NYX-Cosmetics-Concealer-Orange-0-24/dp/B004QQ1170
Here's a white mixer you can use to lighten foundations that are too dark. You said you're on a tight budget so this is the most ideal for you. It's $10.
Another one from Make Up For Ever- $14
White MAC Face and Body foundation
White Illamasqua foundation
Kryolan has a white concealer stick and white foundation
I think it's okay. Do it if you want to. Applied well, most people won't even notice you're wearing any.
ProTip: If your bags are really bad, go for concealer with an Orange or salmon-y undertone. It's opposite blue/purple on the color wheel, so it cancels out and better conceals the color of your under-eye circles. Something like this mixed with or underneath your regular concealer, or this which is concealer with a salmon undertone.
I checked a few YouTube videos of the flextip, and it seems very similar to the KissMe Heroine eyeliner. I wear this every day, and it's both waterproof and long-lasting.
Lucky duck! Very kind of your to pass it on. <3
This because those purples! swoon
Edit: because I changed my mind...haha
I tend to avoid eye makeup when I have lash extensions. But if I do use eyeliner, I buy an eyeliner that can be removed with hot/warm water. This is the one I've used previously: https://www.amazon.com/KissMe-Smooth-Liquid-Eyeliner-Black/dp/B005F751WK/ref=pd_sim_194_6?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B005F751WK&pd_rd_r=Y4007VTBW8HW57CTTM2X&pd_rd_w=QRayT&pd_rd_wg=Cm0Ez&psc=1&refRID=Y4007VTBW8HW57CTTM2X
I've never heard of microbrushes! But I'm assuming the large size is best in order to mimic the same effect as a q-tip more or less
It's a contour palette! :)
I just add a tiny bit of this to whatever foundation I am using and it lightens it up nicely. I'm very pale, and the undertones in most foundations never match my skin quite right.

Maybelline Eye Studio Liquid Precise Liner. I've tried lots of brands of all price ranges and this one is my go to. The application style is very easy to work with, and it lasts all day.
Sorry no video. Makeup is incredibly confusing, and time consuming! You just have to go for it, and create your own style, and routines.
If you're applying eyeliner to your waterline, which is that tiny ridge between your lashes and your eyeball (upper and lower) it needs to be dry, and oil free.
If you are using liquid, or gel eyeliner, it will smudge until it sets. The fan lets you blow air on your lashes/brows without messing up your hair.
The powder puts a very fine translucent layer over the eyeliner, and or eyeshadow to keep it from smudging, and to set it. 💕E

I broke my ankle on a trampoline so I feel you on the pity party. (The percocet helped though.) I drive a stick shift so I had to wait a week before I could put any weight on my foot to drive it because OF COURSE I broke my left ankle.
Here is an album of pretty pictures from Manito Park in Spokane, WA. It's my favorite place to go for all seasons because they keep it so nice.
This is ridiculously pretty to me.
I use micellar water too, and I would do a second cleansing with an oil cleanser which took off the remaining mascara without any harsh rubbing!
They also make a specific remover if you want to try that out!
I bought Too Faced Shadow Insurance from Amazon for around $14.00. Back when I got it, it was Prime Shipping...but $3+/- isn't bad.
Absolutely! Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0027A7CLG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I don't know how other user's do the clicky thing and make the link all pretty through one word, but this is how I did it
I've used this in the past to lighten drugstore foundation that was too dark for me, and once I tried it on myself straight-up. It's basically white-out for your face, and it didn't aggravate my acne, so maybe it will work for you?
