Does he have a beard? Beard oil is always cool. I'm getting some for my bro from here. I looked around on etsy and that seemed to be one of the more reasonably priced, but there was one featured on sharktank recently too that may have more brand recognition?

I got my bro this a few years ago, he loved it!

Got one of these for each of my brothers this year.

You'd have to get it filled with helium at like a party city or something, but this seems so awesome.

This shop has amaaaaazing prints of old presidents doing crazy shit. Got this Teddy one for my dad for xmas this year & got another for a random office gift exchange. Can't wait to see them fight over it haha.

Is your brother into the whole zombie thing? I got this for my bro's bday. Put it in a cool frame and shiz, it looks awesome.

Does he like grilling? I think these cedar plank things look awesome and would be well-received by most guys who like to grill. They have some other gift pack things too.

I got my bro Sriracha salt last year and he really liked it. There are tons of places on etsy that sell it. In fact, if he's really into sriracha (I have a friend who steals a bottle from every restaurant that has it) you could do a sriracha gift basket. Sriracha salt, sriracha peas, sriracha beef jerky, sriracha chocolate, sriracha chips, sriracha socks. All of those can be found on amazon or just a normal grocery store.

I love that you already listed the berries that change your tastebud thing, I'm planning on bringing a gift basket to an exchange with those and some lemons/limes/grapefruit. I've been suggesting that to a bunch of people on here too haha, it's pretty universal.

This looks so amazing.

Is he into camping or the outdoors? This would be cool. Supposedly you can drink straight from a river and not die.

I just think this is awesome.

Oh! Marc Johns books are amazing. This one always works as a great gift. Idk if you can preview any of the pages but it basically has weird/random pictures and weird/random/sometimes uplifting messages.

Welllp, that's all I can think of right now, hopefully something helped or gave you some ideas! :)

  • Science: You are here - it's just a fun poster, but actually really interesting the more you look at it. It seems silly, but you really get a sense of how big our galaxy is.

  • Gardens: Herb Savor - This thing is pretty awesome and helps keep herbs and such fresh.

  • Writing: Who doesn't want to learn Calligraphy

  • Film/Movies: I absolutely love Mel Brooks - I really really want it!

  • Fantasy: Leaf Clasp

  • Books/Authors: The Border Trilogy by Cormac McCarthy - These books are beautifully written. The most poetical version of prose I've ever read. Anything Richard Matheson - I had to put this as well because Richard Matheson is one of my favorite authors. He wrote many short stories (many became twilight zone episodes) and his novels are amazing. He wrote I Am Legend, which I would 100% recommend. However, the link is to one of his short story collections because they are just too amazing to pass up.
  • Nature/outdoors: Picnic Wine holder - There's nothing better than a nice glass of wine and these things are awesome.

  • Spirituality: Bamboo wind chime - I don't know why, but I have always felt there was something spiritual about wind chimes; especially wooden ones; and especially bamboo ones.

  • Art supplies - Sketching kit - I don't know much about art supplies, but this looks like a nice set.

  • Math - Pi Ice Cubes - They're just too cute and also math related

  • Travel: Universal Surge Protector - I wasn't sure if you travel a lot internationally, but if you do, get this.

  • Food - Citrus ginger dressing - This stuff is to die for!

  • Fun stuff: Lightsaber chopsticks - These are so fun to use. I'm taking a shot in the dark about whether you like sushi or star wars, but if I'm right, you'll want these.

  • Something not on this list, but that you absolutely have to link to or you'll explode: Dino Sandwich cutter - Do I even need to explain?

Mischief Managed!

The First

Since I don't drink, my experience with wine is limited, but as a mother I have quite a lot of experience with small creatures who like to whine. We all know the only way to keep these little creatures (otherwise known as children) from excessive whining is to keep them distracted and entertained.

The Second

How is it that muggles can keep their homes clean without magic or house elves? I can't even think about the hard work it must take to keep a tidy home without magic, using nothing but a basic broom! And did you know they only use brooms for cleaning? Imagine! If I couldn't lift off the ground on my broom, I don't know what I'd do! How would I travel?! Surely those large metal boxes they put up in the sky can't be safe! How do they stay in the air without magic?! I just don't know how I'd live if I were a muggle.

The Third

Of all the things that people have put on their heads throughout history, only the hat lived on as the one piece of attire universally accepted to protect the tops of heads. There was a short period of time between 1622 and 1624 in which wizards commonly wore ornamental bonsai trees atop their heads, but this fad inevitably led to a large increase in bee stings during the spring and summer months when bees became interested pollinating the head wear. And so, as most fads do, the bonsai look faded out of popularity. Only the hat as remained an actively appropriate way to address the need to cover the top of one's head. There have been many famous hats throughout time, including the bowling bowler that was often seen resting atop the head of the wizard known as Maginny McMulnery, when it was not bowling perfect games. Another was the incredibly well-known Lost Diadem of Ravenclaw, though many argue that the diadem is not qualified as a hat, but rather an item of jewelry. Others argue that it's stylistic qualities make no difference, as it's use is what is important, though most of those who argue are tuned out by others who don't much care about the semantics regarding long-lost treasures that will never be found again. The most famous of all hats, however, is inarguably the Hogwarts Sorting Hat which has sorted students into their Houses at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry since it's inception.

The Fourth

If you are in need of any book, there is only one place you need look. The Hogwarts Library will always have what you need.... Unless you are looking for information about horcruxes, in which case you should stop asking questions and get back to your studies.

The Fifth

When traveling, it is important to pack smartly. How many things can you fit in your trunk, and will there be room for everything you'll need? Sometimes, it is simply impossible to bring every item on your list in just one trunk, but two or three trunks is just too much to carry when passing through muggle areas where magic use is restricted. That's why some witches and wizards decide to use an Undetectable Extension charm. This charm allows your trunk or bag to extend within, so that you can fit a nearly infinite amount of items in a finite space. This charm leaves items bigger on the inside, allowing for a much easier and hassle-free travel experience.

The Bonus

Any superhero knows that a cape is not a complete disguise. Well, any hero besides superman. If you're going to wear a cape, you've also got to have a mask. It's probably best if the mask has eye holes, though...

Edit!!! Oh, I forgot to say why I will NEED these items! The first is self-explanatory, I'll need to keep the whining to a minimum in order to focus on the work I'm assigned, especially if I take potions. You know Snape is going to assign at least a dozen parchments worth of writing every week. The second is what I'll need to use in order to get across the Atlantic to attend Hogwarts! No matter how much I prefer traveling by broom, I can't risk such a long flight alone. The third is something all students will need, because without the sorting hat it would be impossible to be sorted into our houses! The fourth is, of course, incredibly important. I'm sure I'll be frequenting the Hogwarts Library throughout my time there. The fifth will be the very first thing I use, because without my trunk being bigger on the inside they'll never even let me onto the plane! I'd have way too many bags and trunks without that charm. And of course, as for the bonus, I'll need that mask in order to sleep, because my dorm mates are quite rowdy and I expect them to be using magic well into the evening most nights. Along with the eye mask, I'll also be packing several pairs of ear plugs!

There's a few ways you can go about making a mask. As far as the helmet goes, the best method I know is papercraft and resin. More on that later.
You can always take a thick plastic hockey mask and carve out the basic shape. Personally I use this particular mask. It's super cheap, but very rigid for such a cheap mask. I've made a similar, albeit sloppy, skull mask in my earlier days of prop and costume making. I would upload pictures right now, but can't seem to find any at the moment. (another result of amateur work before I realized I should document and properly file EVERYTHING I do.) That's a pro tip in itself. The only reason my piece turned out so sloppy is because I neglected to plan anything. I just went "Fuck it!" and zoomed my way through the process. ANYWAYS... take the hockey mask and hack off large pieces to get a basic shape. Also hack off that nose. Then sand everything to the shape that you want. No sugarcoating, this is a bitch to do by hand; it's infinitely easier with a sander or a rotary tool. Remember to wear a respirator when you do this so you don't breath in any plastic dust. I used a layer of paper mache to cover up all the holes, including the one left by cutting off the nose, let dry, primed and painted. You can also do what I do now, as I don't like how messy paper mache gets. I use a bit of Sculpey clay to fill in the holes. Then I bake them using a hair dryer/heat gun and keep them in place using epoxy. Then resin the whole thing tight, prime, paint, then finally re-resin if you want a shiny finish/extra protective layer.
The other method I know of is to form a mask out of plaster bandages (not the particular brand I use, I get mine at whatever local hobby store. Link to show in case you've never heard of this stuff.) I realize this is getting WAY too long, so I'll neglect to put a how to in this comment as there's a ton of great guides (with pictures) on the internet. However if you'd like me to break it down just let me know. I will say though, the best advice I can give about this method is even if it's a pain to wash out, if you apply this stuff directly to your face, MAKE SURE you put generous, GENEROUS! amounts of petroleum jelly in all your hair that might even consider getting near these bandages; your eyebrows included.
I realize this is getting really long. I do apologize. So as far as helmets go, it's not exactly what you want, but it's a very good start for a paper/resin helmet. If you want any further explanation on ANY of this, don't hesitate to ask. I'll try to upload the few pictures that I might have as well.
tl;dr: sorry even the tl;dr is too lengthy. Hope this helps though. Best of luck!
[edit]: I realized after I typed all this out you asked about foam crafting. Sorry about that... I don't have enough experience working with foam to make a mask like this and give advice.
[edit2]: I also forgot to mention, to attach the mask to the helmet and make it move you can always use a metal bracket placed stationary on the mask and on a tight hinge on the helmet.

This is a long explanation, but it's necessary to properly answer your question. The fifth wall connection are a way to bridge the airgap to infect us with a malware program called "Elliot". Stay with me here - another potential fourth wall connection is how Grace Gummer's mother was in The Manchurian Candidate but unless you believe what I believe about this story it seems meaningless and like a huge stretch. I think we've all been intentionally split in to theory tribes by season 2, like in our actual society. We're driven by the stories we believe, and we each believe different things about this story. I think season 2 was written with some intention to discredit Elliot and discredit the people looking deeper as is the case with conspiracy theorists as well as victims of government programs like MK Ultra or people obsessed with the singularity. I've been told several times by users like _whiter0se that I'm over thinking things -- which is what Sam reportedly tells his actors when they start prying. Season 2 made Elliot seem like a straight up crazy person, and many people in the audience wrote off everything Elliot said in season 1 while questioning why they previously ever agreed with him so by extension we question ourselves. Everything that happens to Elliot is in a way happening to the audience because the show is written to turn us in to f.society -- and by extension Rose's Dark Army as way to expose us to the exploits of our programmable nature, because Sam Esmail leads a team of social white hats.

This level of complexity and inter-connectivity is all possible because the show is written like a piece of software and possibly with the assistance of software. Everything is a fractal branching out from Elliot and Tyrell, [season 2 spoilers](#s "as we can see on Dom's Whiteboard with 31 chess pieces on it with the absence of Vera. There are 32 pieces in a game of chess "). It's a mandelbrot set ("find your monster"). Everything is connected but not every connection is necessarily meaningful, which is in a sense up to the observer until the conclusion, which I think may also be up to the audience to decide, though no one seems to believe me, so I can relate to lost_tsol. We should have been working together, and now I can't find him...

Anyhow, the reason it's hard to follow and the reason I wonder if the audience plays a bigger role than we realize right now is because there are two plots at war; [Season 2 Spoilers](#s "While Elliot sees god as a system of control that he despises Tyrell sees God as a path towards being granted total control. He truly believed Evil Corp was capable of managing the world and his God was Phillip Price, but Mr Robot made him see a greater God that he thinks he can get to with Elliot. Tyrell sees God as his path to greater power and control. Maybe while Elliot sees Evil Corp, Tyrell saw Enlightenment Corp. They're having the same battle that Elliot was having with Mr Robot but couldn't settle because they always found themselves in a stalemate. Tyrell and Elliot have completely separate wills, and between them they can make independent choices where Elliot and Mr Robot cannot. Whichever King is left standing in the end ushers in a new world of either total control under the god we've been trying to create for millennia possibly in the form of AI (coltan) or freedom from our constructs of control perhaps by way of a nuclear pinch that wipes out all electronic communications capabilities returning us to a wilder more tribal time. Tyrell and Elliot are Kings being moved by the hands of White Rose to battle each other to decide the future order while we stand on the precipice of irreversible change and watch. ")

"Master" of a human botnet."

[Hypothesis with potential spoilers](#s "There is so much information that we infer meaning, sometimes it's the intended meaning and sometimes it's synchronicity for synchronicity sake. It's unprecedented because the plot is written like a piece of software to reflect how certain players in the story have written people's histories as drivers. The story has been written to drive us. "Elliot" isn't an actual person, "Elliot" is program inside of a brainwashed kid who's history was erased at WTP. "Elliot" is infecting society both in the show and across our reality. People are buying masks and hoodies and even reading his journal. Sam Esmail has a background in computer science and I believe it influenced how the plot is laid out. I believe that's important to the central theme because the characters are essentially programmed to infect society. "Elliot" is the master of a human botnet. Additionally I also wonder if psychometrics were used to design the characters by inputting the films the target audience has seen to generate the perfect characters for the audience to follow. ")

[
psychometrics](https://www.reddit.com/r/MrRobot/comments/6nyptk/spoilers_s02e12_our_democracy_has_been_hacked/?utm_content=title&utm_medium=user&utm_source=reddit&utm_name=frontpage)

In summary, I believe the fifth wall connections are by and large meant to bridge our world to Elliot's with the intention of putting us inside of his head while more importantly planting him inside of ours as a way to expose the audience to our programmable nature.

Mischief Managed!

So I decided to order my school supplies from a "reputable" magical supply store. I can not believe what happened. So you order by answering riddles and I thought that would ensure that everyone's orders are correct, I guess not....

Riddle the First-Wine or Wine Goblet

Either way, I wonder if this is even considered to be appropriate [drink wear] (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004HZR94O/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=25MSIGOHKX8AU&coliid=I1GX53XQYP0JML&psc=1) in the Great Hall of the RAOA school of magic, merriment and Mischief.

Riddle the Second- Broom

I don't know what they were thinking, I asked for a Firebolt, I will never be able to fly with these. I thought maybe they were just tiny for shipping purposes, but I've tried to use Engorgio to make them bigger, but nothing happens.

Riddle the Third- Hat

I swear I ordered a standard witch's hat. I am not sure how they heard wicker hat.

Riddle the Fourth- Book

They told me that this is one of the most important books of knowledge of our times and I wouldn't be able to pass my muggle studies with out it

Riddle the Fifth- Trunk

I don't even know what to say about this. How am I suppose to get all my supplies/clothes to school in these? I mean sure if I was a guy I am sure they would be pretty comfortable. Note to self, next time use the word Luggage Trunk.

Bonus Riddle- Cape

And last but not least, I just wanted a simple black cape. It's black alright, but unless I am going to be giving haircuts in my common room, I have no idea what to do with this.

That is the last time I order anything from Mundungus Fletcher's Magic Emporium.

https://www.amazon.com/Accoutrements-12283-Magical-Unicorn-Mask/dp/B0070QMUFA%3FSubscriptionId%3D04AM2B1D3BQXTFCTG702%26tag%3Dxgoogle-20%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB0070QMUFA

I bought this Unicorn Mask and thought it would be fun to wear to a Burning Man festival. Well, I was right....and so very wrong. It started when i ate 23 mushroom caps and started dancing to a def leopard and skrillex mashudp. I met a cute girl who said that she absolutely loved my mask, we started dancing and she licked my horn... RAD RIGHT? Well it turns out the LSD in her saliva caused a massive unicorn population spawning epidemic in the desert the next day. After running 38 miles into the desert, I have to say that the mask doesn't hold up very well to long distance running. I'm slightly disappointed in the quality as it completely melted off my face. Seriously...I don't have a face anymore.

On a side note this guilds great! I transferred from another server to partake in the festivities and I am really pleased with the community! I've been raiding and running mythic+ dungeons with the guild. Hope to see you there!

Congrats on 50 gifts! That's awesome!

The craziest thing on my wishlist is this magical unicorn mask!

As far as not wanting it to be a "mash up" of pieces, good luck. These are custom costumes and not readily available pieces. You'll have to buy separate pieces, do some constructing on your own, and hope they match up and look ok.

you can tell from this image that its a coat and pants.

I think wearing this jacket (remove the pocket buttons for a cleaner look. Hell, remove ALL the buttons and add some Velcro or snaps inside the "fly" to seal up more cleanly) will work best for your purposes. I can't find a stand-collar style jacket or even just zipper-down bomber in two-tone, and I can't find any in white in dyeable materials. Your best bet is probably this jacket.

there are lots of patterns for shoulder pads online that you can follow with foam and cover with a fabric of your choosing so that the size/color matches the costumes (you can see the shoulder pads are a shinier material than the jacket). Attach with craft spikes

For the pants, wear a split-color jean

this mask

these boots

You could always go with this instead and remove the head so as to form a collar (you would then need to buy a different morph hood for the head, in black) and then do the shoulder pad thing. Much easier. You'll likely run into issues with the amount of lycra/spandex in that suit in terms of adding shoulder pads, etc. Its unlikely they'll sit where you want them to. You're much better off using something that won't stretch, like the cotton jacket above.

Unless you're going to a poppy-themed party, no one is going to know what your costume is, so its not like anyone will be scrutinizing the verisimilitude of it. You might have to settle for "the best I can get on short notice".

Pretty much all the respectable ready-to-buy starfleet uniforms on the web are by Rubie's Costume Co. The ones pictured here are almost certainly this Rubie's top. They're sold by various web stores, including Newegg, BuyCostumes, and Amazon. Other uniforms (usually lower quality, but YMMV) can be purchased on Ebay.

Alternatively, if you're a crazed sewing nut, you can buy a pattern on Roddenberry.com.

The Rubie's costumes are alright. Not perfect, but passable. And rather inexpensive. They're definitely worth the money, as far as that goes. My favoured uniform is just based around a Rubie's top which I got custom tailored after purchase.

The pips and combadge that come with a Rubie's costume are like the uniform - passable, not great. Roddenberry.com also sells a combadge and rank pips which are much better than Rubie's pips for screen accuracy, so there's an alternative there.

ok, took a little longer to come post this, but here it is.

Obviously you need a mask. Any hockey mask will do as long as you have an imagination, but this is the one I used here.

First you want to sand it down until the whole surface is rough. Sandpaper or a sanding sponge are fine.

Next you can use a drill to drill out movie accurate holes.

Take a sharp object and slash the fuck out of the mask. Or just cut specific lines that you want for scratches.

Sand it a little bit to smooth out the cuts and wipe it clean to remove the plastic dust.

Use Krylon Almond spray paint for the base coat. Let it dry and cut it a bit more and sand it a little in places for texture.

Spray paint it again with the almond for the final spray coat and let it dry.

Hand paint the chevrons or use tape to do it like someone else suggested.

Then the rest of the colors are up to your preference. I like dark browns, black, forest green, yellow, bright red, dark red, light brown, etc...

You'll want to use a damp cloth and slightly dip it in whatever paint you want to shade the mask with. Lightly wipe the paint on the mask and spread it using the wet cloth.

After getting the mask to what you want it to look like, let it dry and then use the krylon clear coat spray paint to finish it off.

Here's the paints and techniques from the last time i did this:

Krylon Cover Maxx Almond spray paint for the base and second coat.

Krylon Cover Maxx Crystal Clear Acrylic spray paint for the last coat once everything else is done.

Apple Barrel paints:

Jet Black

Chocolate Sprinkle

Brown Oxide

Bright Red

Lime Tree

Yellow Flame

Too Blue

White

For the dirty look I mixed the browns and black and sometimes added small amounts of green.

The blood is a mix of browns and red with some light amount of black. After it dried i smudged on black with my fingers to give it some texture.

See if you can give the mask a more matte/opaque appearance so your face isn't clearly visible (without blinding yourself of course); I recall Tali's face was at best sort of foggy behind the mask, in the photo I can see your face a bit too well which can distract from the intended character.

Also three fingered gloves of course would help give the alien appearance~

Otherwise, your costume looks pretty awesome so far, nice work!

Edit: found a mask like this, so there are at least options; I wonder if something like this could be integrated into your current helm

i'm making a simple non-lace shawl, and since i'm using the motivation of buying myself this when i'm finished. it's thin so it's good for this type of weather (hopefully it won't get too warm for me to wear once i finish), but also no lace so it can keep you pretty warm too. when i get more popular shawl-needle sizes and yarns, i think i'm gonna make a lot more and wear them with my incentive brooch. also, if you spend so much time and yarn on something that you never wear, then you frog it and save the yarn for something else, or give it to someone who wears shawls.

hello! I’m the girl who posted the cosplay photos, and here’s I got almost everything from Amazon!

Hat-https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001FARML4/ref=sspa_mw_detail_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=APCG45FOXJN54

Jacket-https://www.amazon.com/Legendary-Whitetails-Journeyman-Rugged-Tobacco/dp/B00EUHCUIO/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1549686904&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=mr+robot+jacket&dpPl=1&dpID=413WlcHyQSL&ref=plSrch

Patch-I printed a photo out and attached it to a cardboard backing, but I know they have patches on amazon!

Shirts-I wore a black t-shirt and layered an old flannel on top of it!

Scarf-Again, old scarf, so I’m unsure of where I got it. Any pattern would do well, though, as long as it was brown/tan!

Glasses-My own glasses lol. I did the same cosplay back when I had hipster-esque glasses; it doesn’t impact anything too much unless you’re a stickler for the details.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, let me know!

check this out, and this. I hope it explains things. Basically white people have historically used dressing up as minorities to ridicule and disempower them. "poking fun at stereotypes" is in line with "it's just a joke!". also the "poking fun" is always done by white people toward PoC/minority people (aka GSMs and women and classism.) The only thing I can think of right now where poking fun at stereotypes works is dave chappelles humor and the boondocks where black people analyze black culture through humor and satire.

This shirt is actually pretty good quality. The communicator is part of the shirt, but raised to look like it's not, and the rank pips need to be ironed on, but still looks good. The material is very good quality for a "premade costume".

Check out the reviews. There are multiple colors too.

  1. This because F drinking out of a fancy glass. I would be able to walk around in public getting sloshed and no one would be the wiser...Until I fell or flashed my boobs.

  2. Because animals eat this stuff for reals. I think that is how the scarecrow in Wizard of Oz lost his brains. Those evil evil rabbits and birds.

  3. I don't need no stinking "hold all the heat in, til my head feels like a sauna" hat thing. I prefer cute bandanas and these for keeping cooler and my hair out of my nose and eyes. Sexy I know.

  4. Books are paper filled with smart stuff, money is paper filled with power and importance.

  5. I put these on my car to decorate the trunk of my car where indecently trunks could go.

  6. I would use this to perfectly fasten my cape so I it would look awesome and hopefully not catch on anything and potentially kill me.

Thanks so much for all you and your co-magical people are doing. This is awesome.

I know it's not what you are looking for but I love this hat for gardening. http://www.amazon.com/Jacobson-Hat-Company-Coolie/dp/B001UK7U2A

u/overstable · 2 pointsr/festivals

A coolie hat can save the day. The wide brim keeps that blazing festival sun off your face and neck (and maybe a shoulder or two), plus the internal headband support means there's a good flow of air around your dome.

The style stands out in the crowd too. It also draws looks from the neighbors while I'm mowing the lawn.

Rubie's Adult Official Jurassic World Inflatable Dinosaur Costume, T-Rex, Standard https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TO6E0T8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_v-hVDb1VN1GJ1

Looks to be $53 for the T-Rex right now (yes, there are others). I bought mine on sale for less than $40, I think. I've worn it for two Halloweens and many random get togethers. It's hilarious for most occasions. It's even better when you bring it to family functions and convince older relatives to try it on. It's the most amazing thing I've ever purchased. Memories of giggling grandma as a dinosaur cannot be beat.

u/wheysan · 3 pointsr/JUSTNOMIL
  • Get one of those cheap locker mirrors. When she starts staring, try and line it up to wherever she's looking (probably your face). (Or just start wearing this around her.)
  • Pretend like you are speaking to her in sign language. Or even better, learn some phrases, like:

    • "Stop being rude."
    • "Your hair looks very muddy today." (I'm sorry, I thought I was saying your hair is brown.)
    • "What time is your funeral?" (I was asking what time is the march?) (I looked that one up under signs that are close but not the same.)
  • Treat her like one of those weird paintings whose eyes follow you wherever you go.
  • See how many of these you can get away with. Bonus: Never actually look at her while doing it. You can always pretend like you were joking with that person that just left the room -- sorry you missed them, MIL!

This looks like it's molded plastic, not latex.. It sounds like it needs a bit of work to make it comfortable (one guy trimmed a cheap ski mask to cushion it, and others said they touched up the paint. But one of the users is clear that it's not latex.

u/UdongeinNoodles · 1 pointr/cosplay

Hello! Terribly sorry that, I'm five days late for this.
Anyway the mask that's used in that reference photo you linked is likely a modified version of this mask right here, or at least something similar: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00EO8TSCU/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8

I'm actually in the progress of a Jacket cosplay as so I'm not too sure what the best method for the mask would be. What I'd suggest doing is painting the eyes on the mask black, and highlighting some of the other facial features on the mask so it stands out more. A few people have recommended using an airbrush to give it a dirty appearance too. Hopefully this helped a bit. Good luck on your cosplay!

Rubie's does make a good product once in a while, like this great Boba Fett helmet. Unfortunately, when they first start selling it for $30 back in 2015, it was quickly discontinued and they brought it back this year, only for around $50 it seems (none of the other helmets from the same line have increased in price, though).

u/TrippTocino · 2 pointsr/Borderlands

I wish I took more pictures of the process :-/ but I'll try to put that together with some Internet pics.

Basically I got cheap goalie mask as the base and cannibalized an old paintball mask. That's not the actual one, one I had came free with gear, really cheapy. Last thing I got were these steam punk goggles. I know there were cheaper ones; I think I only paid $12 for 'em.

SO I got all my pieces and held them in place with duct tape. Then paper mache, paint, and lacquer to keep everything on. Goggles were the most expensive part because I happened to have the pb mask laying around. Could have done it cheaper but I felt the green lenses REALLY pulled it together.

u/nondece · 1 pointr/nintendo

There are some pretty cool squid hats on Amazon, too. I'll see if I can find them and link them.

Hey Evil Ted (the guy on YouTube who makes awesome cosplay stuff, check him out) recommended this mask for projects like what you're describing! He mentioned using it for a Cobra Commander costume or a Destiny costume, but I'm sure it has a variety of applications. And it is said to be see-through on the inside. I haven't had a project to use it in yet but I am itching for an excuse to buy it and mess around with it myself lol.

My idea for a more form fitting version was to get a mask like the first one and then paint it, cut it into pieces, and mount it to a hood like this.

You're Canadian, so obviously you had to skin your first moose at the age of 6, as is tradition. When you turned seven, you were officially inducted into The Holy Order or Bryan Adams, in which all Canadians must slay a rapid beaver while drenched in purple maple syrup, as is tradition.

From there you wandered the country till you found shelter in an abandoned Tim Hortons. Living off stale doughnuts and spoiled coffee, you were near starvation till you met your husband, The King of all Mounties. Hypnotized by his bright red uniform and his Kids in the Hall VHS collection, you married him on your eighteenth birthday and then sealed the marriage by punching a moose in the dick, as is tradition.

Then you and The King of All Mounties opened up a 24/7 poutine shop, where people just dive into a giant swimming pool full of the potato and gravy abomination and gorge themselves, as is tradition. The Queen of England even stops by, because apparently, she's a not-ruler of Canada or something.

On your days off, you like to wander The Hall of Canadian Heroes, where giant statues of people like Jim Carrey, Pam Anderson and Tommy Chong are made of piles of fossilized steamers, as is tradition. You currently live in a log cabin where it's freezing cold winter for 350 days of the year.

Oh and I need this so I can bring Gotham to it's knees, eh?

Any ideas where to buy a Star Trek uniform for a tall skinnyish guy? (6"4')

I was looking at this on Amazon but a lot of the reviews said it's not something you want if you're tall. I'm unsure of where to look to find Halloween costumes that would be long enough. I already have black dress pants and shoes that I'll wear so I'd like to spend around $50ish if possible but will go higher if needed.

Or any ideas of where to look for costumes that'd fit me?

u/katismyrealname · 1 pointr/cosplay

So my mask was probably the biggest nightmare of the costume. Because I don't have access to a vacuum former I was having a hard time getting the shape right. I ended up buying a plastic mask off Amazon and airbrushing it with purple glass paint. I then inserted the mask into the helmet I had built out of EVA foam and cut it down to the right size and shape. I also tried colored tinting for automobile windows and had pretty good luck but they just don't make them in the right color of purple for Tali so I went the air brush route instead. Here is the link to the plastic mask (Disguise Costumes No Face Chrome Mask, Adult https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007S016WQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_YeZPzbWKG3469) let me know if you have any other questions!
