Haven't gotten presents from my GF yet, which may or may not be clothes. But I have been buying presents for myself all month;
Palladium boots

Alpha Industries N-2b Parka

Retrosuperfuture Tuttolente's in ivory

and a genuine Russian telnyashka
(I got a black striped long sleeve one)

I think that's about it for me. I also got a couple souvenir jackets for my girl, a cheap amazon one and then a much nicer one off japanloverme-store.com. Man I hope one of them fits her.

I’ve had excellent luck with this beater.
Columbia Men's Cypress Crossing Anorak Hooded Shell Jacket (Black/Khaki, XXL) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DT6M7MP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_sLWtDbXDDTY7C

This is the jacket I got. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DRMXZ6I/?coliid=IGF3SRB65GTA0&colid=1DSG4IQTFX64N&psc=1 Its not the highest quality in the world but it gets the job done. (I mean it's a $50 soft shell jacket on amazon.) Mine has held up alright, I've worn it almost daily. It'll keep the wind out, and is ok at keeping you warm. I'd probably wear something warmer if it got below 30 or maybe even 40 degrees. Of course it rarely gets below 30 here so I haven't exactly been able to test it yet.

Are the army-like fleece jackets such as Pentagon Perseus or Helikon-Tex STRATUS warm and durable as mid-layer, compared to common brands for outdoor activities (e.g. The North Face, Kuhl or Fjallraven, ...), even though they cost only half the price?

No shops locally and outdoor clothing reviews don't even mention those or give comparison. Just thought they might be worth trying because HAIX boots (Germany military boots) recommended by firemen here turned out to be excellent choices.

I used this Helikon Trooper Soft Shell

I find it very comfortable, it breathes well, and I can wear it with several layers underneath in winter on none in summer.

Check out the B-15 bomber. Had better selection the other day but still have some sizes and colors for $54. The MA-1 is the evolution of the B-15 and they are very similar apart from the collar. The N-2B has some colors for $59 if you would like a parka/bomber and live in a climate cold enough to wear it.

I would suggest the Condor Summit Jacket Condor Summit Soft Shell Tactical Jacket, Color Black, Size Large https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005XZY0BW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_mSJWDbNSA389M

I've had mine for about a year and it still looks brand new. The hood easily fits over helmets and it folds up into the collar when not in use. Lots of pockets and while not breathable it does have armpit zippers if get too warm. It is definitely a bit heavier and thicker material than the ones you posted, but that allows me to often wear just the softshell and stay warm.

At 6'3 275lbs 42w I love my Condor Summit Zero Lightweight Soft Shell Jacket, Tan, XXXL 609-003-XXXL https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AC5VG0G/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_M.vyub16X18X7

Not sure if you're still looking, but this one is pretty similar

I'm looking for a Business type fall/early winter coat. I like the look of the shells, and a lot of the people at my school (we have to dress up) have them.

Stuff like this: http://smile.amazon.com/Columbia-Ascender-Softshell-Jacket-Black/dp/B004XH5YXE/ref=sr_1_1?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=undefined&sr=1-1&keywords=columbia+shell

Hey there, sorry no one has helped you with this, I know you've posted before. I tried following the trail back but can't seem to find that jacket. Here are some similar ones that'll hopefully work for you:

I struggled with this same issue until I found this jacket:

Eddie Bauer Men's Sandstone Soft Shell Jacket, Black Regular S https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07V39YDQH/

It's been amazing. I also bought a lightweight Patagonia down sweater, but I find it to be too warm most of the time.

I was able to get the company name from one of the zipper pulls. Is this the jacket you're wearing?
