Yeah but for me it was a blessing in disguise, the manager got them to pay for the 660ti fixed (when I told him I could) and the rest of the computer to get fixed by charging them $150 and getting a new PSU. He said if I can fix the card he will give me a bonus of $70. So I ordered a PCIe x16 riser and am going to solder the cards leads directly to it.

Here is an email I just sent to SMOS. Any help will be appreciated

Thank you for the software. I love it. I am currently building a farm and have a problem on one of my machines. I'm not sure if it's USB drive related but have been using a couple of different ones.

Here are the specs to my rig:
Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3
4GB Kingston Ram
4 - Sapphire R9 290 Tri-x (with 4 Risers-http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CWGPY9M/ref=oh_details_o03_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
Kingston USB 8GB Datatraveler 101 with SMOS 1.3 upgraded with the website's upgrades. I installed the image on a Macbook Pro.

The problem is it boots up fine but once it gets to the desktop screen it will freeze. I have tried also a Sandisk 4GB USB drive and it does not work. I have other machines with the same setup and it works fine. Not sure what is going on.

(And I'm keeping donations on because I can send you this email and hopefully get a reply)

Liquid nitrogen is a bit extreme for me, but I must say it gave me a good laugh.

Here is a 10cm cable extender and I've seen longer ones .I believe there are 20 and 30 cm ones. I just need to find them

Right now I stack two 980ti's and they at max reach 65C with 40% fan. I honestly can't imagine with a meter^3 box and two box fans going through it, that heat will be a severe issue.

I'm not running conv nets, where you can use 100% gpu cores 100% of the time. RNN's result in sinusoidal usage which drastically lowers the heat output. If they were conv nets, I can totally see where you're coming from.

Unfortunately I can't wait that long for a riser card since the return time on my card is running out.

I found this though: http://www.amazon.com/16X-PCIe-Riser-Controller-Motherboard/dp/B00CWGPY9M/ref=aag_m_pw_dp?ie=UTF8&m=A31PZHDAKM5BC7

Any tips on how to mount this thing if I go this route?
