guilty.. but then the question leads to how many of you buy sleeves, chuck the jewel case, and store all the discs in a bin? LOL i actually alphabetized them too, with cardboard letter section dividers.

like you, i too believe in things tangible. I will admit though, i recently started looking into buying digital, however NOT A SINGLE SERVICE EXISTS in where you can legally buy DRM-FREE digital downloads.. tisk tisk.. guess it's back to bargin bins LOL.. oh and to your remark about losing the digital copies, i make backups of everything.

Another option, instead of a binder, is using these plastic holders: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014Q8XTZE?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
You can put them in these storage boxes: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005XXGT7C?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

I have easily 200 movies per box and it also lets me save the artwork and inserts from the DVD case. I also have a binder, but I like being able to save the original covers easily.

Yeah I transfer them myself.

I buy these:

If you have a 3/4 disc set, two inserts and cover art will fit in one sleeve.

The initial transfer will take you a long time but after that it's not too bad to do as you go.

Pros: the space saving and ease of accessing your movies is immeasurably easier. I live in a small apartment and didn't want to have this hobby take over the space or to have to stop collecting so this was my only option and I've been happy.

Cons: They look fine but don't display well on a shelf so I would recommend switching to a box system where they are stored away. If you like displaying your collection, I don't think you'll be happy with this method.
