Congratulations, I also recently got engaged. There are literally manuals about this, and if you read r/weddingplanning or under 10k or wedding blogs or honestly if you just google these questions, there are SO MANY resources for you. That's for sure why you got downvoted when you posted on wedding planning--your questions have been answered in like 9,000,000 places, which is both great! and awful because there are so many responses.

I am using the book "a practical wedding planner" because I read a shit ton and just wanted to have everything in one place. It is literally a manual for this. There are like 15 other wedding planning manuals if you don't like this one. Sorry to be raining on your parade, but this just isn't the right sub to ask about buffet cost cutting.
