For your budget an eGPU wouldn't be worth it, as it is not available with great enough specs, however, I would recommend this Acer vx configuration because it comes with everything you need , i5 quad core CPU which is one of the best in the market and great for your usage, 16GB of ram for smooth multitasking, Good SSD storage of 256 GB for faster boot up and loading, high build quality, very good heat management, decent battery life, 1050Ti GPU which is great for gaming in this range, and it is within your budget./

Or if you can push your budget a little more then I would recommend this Acer predator mainly because it comes with 1060 GPU instead of 1050Ti.

u/Michiganders · 4 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

For under $1000, this Acer Aspire VX15 would be a good option at $900. It's a good value options with good build quality, 15.6" 1080p IPS display, and a GTX 1050Ti dGPU. Inside, it has an Intel quad core i5-7500HQ processor, 16gb of ram, a 256gb SSD, and that GTX 1050 TI dGPU which will be more than enough to play the games you described. It weighs 5.5 lbs and gets an advertised 6 hour battery life.

Another very similar laptop you could look into would be the Lenovo Legion Y520 going for $850 with similar specs.

I have money saved up to buy a laptop if I needed to, I just didn't want to if I didn't have to. I already have this laptop picked out https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MR82G0W?ref=emc_b_5_t

I might upgrade to the i7 version for 100 more, but I'm thinking its probably not worth

u/WellOKDenz · 3 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

I have been happy with my Acer Aspire VX 15. It has a 1050ti, 16GB ram, 256GB ssd, and an i5-7300HQ for $900. I'm not sure how it would handle VR, but at that price point I don't think you'll get a better graphics card.

Also, black and red FTW.

u/The---Technician · 3 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

Within that budget, this Acer Aspire VX 15 Gaming Laptop is what I would go for and what actually ticks all your boxes..It has a powerful 7th gen i5 quad core processor, 16 GB RAM, fast SSD and a powerful gtx 1050 ti graphics card... In addition, it has a decent IPS display and build quality.

u/edit1754 · 3 pointsr/laptops

Clevo N855HJ w/ IPS panel - $844

u/elvinelmo · 3 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

Dell Insipiron 15 7000 is the best option in terms of battery life when comparing to the Acer Predator Helios 300 or the
Acer Aspire VX 15 Gaming Laptop. The Helios gives a better gaming experience but sadly Acer didn't give us a GTX 1060 graphics card and a long battery life for the price

u/RishC · 2 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

If you can increase your budget slightly go for this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01MR82G0W/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1496371384&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=acer+aspire+vx+15&dpPl=1&dpID=51LptbJAClL&ref=plSrch

And it's better to go for better performance, storage can be upgraded down the line

From your 3 choices I would pick Acer aspire vx

u/12k4567 · 2 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

It is another model of acer vx 15 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MR82G0W?ie=UTF8 it comes with i5-7300HQ processor instead of i7-7700HQ.... rest of the specifications are same as above laptop.... its available for $900...

u/sideflanker · 2 pointsr/PUBATTLEGROUNDS

Check out this website.

It's a fantastic place to compare laptops.

Personally I've been eyeing this ACER baby which should run the game well.

u/sniper344 · 2 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

Go for the Acer Aspire VX 15 Gaming Laptopperfect for CAD and gaming.

7th Gen Intel Core i5,

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050,

8GB DDR4 Ram,

256GB SSD

u/SaneBRZ · 2 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

If you want a 2-in-1, then yeah. Otherwise you could get something way more powerful.

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-Gaming-GeForce-VX5-591G-54VG/dp/B01MR82G0W/

Would perform far better in games. It's just a bit thicker and heavier. And a 1050 Ti wouldn't be bad if you want to play the new Total War: Warhammer on higher settings.

u/Exlce · 2 pointsr/laptops

The extra storage bay is just if you need more space, you have that option to add more. Idk anything about faster, the 1050ti model is just the choice next to the one you choose.

u/MasterBetti · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

How much more powerful do you think it is? It's the 3gb model. Most their specs are the same. 1060 3gb with i5 6300 with a TN panel or 1050ti i5 7300 with ips Acer Aspire VX 15 Gaming Laptop, 7th Gen Intel Core i5, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, 15.6 Full HD,16GB DDR4, 256GB SSD, VX5-591G-54VG https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MR82G0W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_YmpwzbT5X9S2W

u/Winterfate · 2 pointsr/LaptopDeals

It's awesome for its price! To put it into perspective, $900 on Amazon normally gets you this: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-Gaming-GeForce-VX5-591G-54VG/dp/B01MR82G0W

Which only has an i5 and a 1050ti.

u/bamboozler48 · 2 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

Acer vx15 there's two versions of this there cheapest on the acer website (model one 750-800$ 8gb ram gtx 1050.) Vs (The more expensive one 850-900$ 16 gb ram and a gtx 1050ti) both feature the I5 7300 cpu

I personally will be buying the more expensive one as the 1050ti performs 20% better than the 1050 plus a additional 8 gb of ram to me opting to spend 50-100 more is totally worth it

The reason why I left prices in a range format is this varies state to state I posted a easy Amazon link for you to find it tho. It will easily play over watch at max 60fps all day long. Just be weary as a budget gaming laptop it only have 3-4 hours of battery life well gaming.

u/MagicSlurpees · 2 pointsr/UltraBooks

I was personally thinking of getting a Acer Aspire VX 15 VX5-591G-54VG. It has the i5 so a little less powerful and I don't really think I need 250g more SSD space personally, but I'm saving $200. I'm wondering how good the battery would last on that Eluktronics laptop, since that's one of the biggest factors for me. If I can't reliably see 6 hours of non-gaming usage I'm not interested. Or if there's anything else I'm missing that would lead me to consider the laptop you recommend.

u/Elruflon22 · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

I recommend this for a cheaper and better (has IPS and a GTX 1050) specced laptop, or this for the same price as what you were thinking of buying but better than the other one (GTX 1050 Ti). The downside is the storage, only a 256GB SSD is with it, can always add an HDD though.

Specs:
Geforce GTX 1050 (Ti) GDDDR5 VRAM
Core i5 7300HQ
8/16 GB RAM DDR4
256 GB SSD
Dolby Audio
15.6 Full HD (1920 x 1080)
I think with the price of $899.99 in US, this would be a great deal.

u/assassinsid · 1 pointr/SuggestALaptop

I would like to recommend dell inspiron 7567 or acer vx-15 with an intel kaby lake i5 7500HQ.... As you mentioned that it'll be for gaming so a quad core i5 is pretty much overkill to crush any game with 4gb nvidia gtx 1050 with 8gb DDR4 ram ..... You cannot go anywhere wrong selecting between those two its your personal taste... Like if you prefer a beefier battery and a bit subdued look you can go for dell and if you'll go for Dell make sure you buy an ips display model cause the TN panel display sucks a lot... if you want a bit gamer look and usb type-c port then go for Acer..... My personal recommendation will be for acer vx 15
If you can increase your budget you can buy a gtx 1050 ti... Or even a gtx 1060 like in acer predator helios 300
Acer vx 15 gtx 1050 ti- https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01MR82G0W/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1500535536&sr=8-6&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=dell+7567&dpPl=1&dpID=51LptbJAClL&ref=plSrch
Acer helios 300- https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06Y4GZS9C/ref=sxbs_sxwds-rbp_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1494946610&sr=1&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=2962241022&pd_rd_wg=rlrBL&pf_rd_r=DGYJ2FCHQESC8HPBMW43&pf_rd_s=mobile-sx-bottom-slot&pf_rd_t=9701&pd_rd_i=B06Y4GZS9C&pd_rd_w=xmfX3&pf_rd_i=alienware+13+gtx+1060&pd_rd_r=JB8T2JNV21ZWX4Z1K830&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65
This helios is though higher than your budget but is the best you can get in market right now... It would give you a great performance and more gaming years....

u/kristaqs · 1 pointr/SuggestALaptop

You should go for this.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01MR82G0W/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1498640624&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=acer+vx+15&dpPl=1&dpID=51LptbJAClL&ref=plSrch

sadly for this budget you will only be able to run witcher 3 on medium settings for 60fps+ But games like overwatch, csgo will run maxed out on 60+fps.

If you can somehow manage to get 1050$ it would be worth every cent to get this one. Will run you everything and last for a long time for upcoming new games.

u/TrannaMontana · 1 pointr/SuggestALaptop

Yeah, Macs are undeniably beautiful but I can't deal with the OS and it's just a little too pricy.

The Acer Aspire VX is a top contender. I was looking at this model:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MR82G0W/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Only difference I see being i5 v i7 unless I'm missing something, right?

u/PirateHunter_Zoro · 1 pointr/buildapc

I already have a g502 and I have already made my deicision. I will buy an
acer aspire vx5 592g 54vg

And for the keyboard I think it will be good for me. If I dont like it my friend will give me his razor keyboard

u/jdb12 · 1 pointr/SuggestALaptop

I like that Dell, how do you think it compares in terms of performance to the higher end Aspire VX 15?

u/RangerTech · 1 pointr/laptops

Sorry for the late reply, its the best for what you said but if you can stretch your budget I'd recommend these

Dell inspiron 7567 (i5-7300HQ/8GB RAM/256SSD/GTX 1050ti) which offers great preformance for the money but its a bit more than your budget, however the screen isnt the best but thats what you get for having a 1050ti at that price point

Acer Aspire VX 15 (i5-7300HQ/16GB RAM/256SSD/GTX 1050ti) the diffrence is a usb c and 16gb rather than 8gb of ram

The 1050ti will get you way better performance than any of the laptops you linked, also these look kinda gamer ish which some people don't like but they offer great preformance in games, battery life is good, they both have M.2 SSD and 2.5 drive space so if you want to add a HDD its easy and ram is also upgradable. Watch some reviews about these on Youtube and gameplay in games you want to play and if you need anything feel free to ask.

Edit: Here's a review comparing these 2 laptops

You can order this from Amazon.com for $(899.99+297.29) = Rs.76955.77.

How's the compromise model? VX5-591G-54VG seems to also have the 1050Ti
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MR82G0W?ref=emc_b_5_t

u/harbenm · 1 pointr/SJSU

At that price point the [Acer Aspire VX 15](http://www.Acer.com/ Aspire VX 15 Gaming Laptop, 7th Gen Intel Core i5, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, 15.6 Full HD,16GB DDR4, 256GB SSD, VX5-591G-54VG https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MR82G0W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_QxvzzbAEC1YYJ) and Lenovo Legion Y520 are some of your best bets. The Dell Inspiron 7560 might also be good. I know they're gaming laptops and you might not play games but a quad core CPU and dedicated GPU are definitely helpful if you need to run any intensive programs. You should also check out r/hardwareswap if you don't mind buying used, r/buildapcsales and r/laptopdeals for sales, and r/suggestalaptop for more ideas. The Thinkpad option isn't bad neither, and there's r/thinkpad for that.

You could also look at other threads there with similar requirements to yours; then check the suggestions.

I found this for example

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-Gaming-GeForce-VX5-591G-5652/dp/B01MR82G0W/

u/thatantidote · 1 pointr/SuggestALaptop

Acer Aspire VX5-591G-54VG 15.6" HD Notebook (Core i5-7300HQ, 16GB, 256GB SSD) Windows 10 Home (French Bilingual Keyboard) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01MR82G0W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_nxsxzbG8AZE13

Good laptop with decent battery life, was going to recommend you the Dell 7567 but it seems like they don't offer the IPS screen in Canada so vx 15 is my second recommendation.

u/hipipop · 1 pointr/SuggestALaptop

so the Acer Aspire VX5 it is.

As for what u/RishC said, would you recommend the Acer Aspire VX15 for the extra $100?

u/Shiiiv · 1 pointr/SuggestALaptop

I see. I am looking taking but this but people commented that I don't need an i7. They said I can make it with this pc or this or this pc which one would you say would best for the games I want play and the thin and weight?
