UPDATE: Just looked at Amazon to check out the reviews and found the following information...

Question: Verified with acer - the xr382cqk resolution is actually 3840 x 1600 ?

Answer: The supported resolutions depending on connection are:
HDMI: 3840 x 1600 @75Hz
DP: 3840 x 1600 @75Hz
MHL: 1920 x 1080 @60Hz

Not impressed. The size is nice, but it's just wider 1920x1080. Piss poor dpi/ppi.

The LG 38UC99 or the Acer XR382CQK bmijqphuzx (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N6S1P2D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_dcXIzbD7Q4W4J) is what has me excited. Ultrawide at 3840x1600. Micro center had the Acers on sale for 999 last week.

Close as you'll get...

3840 x 1600, IPS, 75hz with freesync and $800

Why the Dell 38" with 60 hz over the Acer 38"? Dell is only 60 hz and Acer is 75 hz native.... plus it's like $100 cheaper.

the AOC Agon is priced similarly to that one but has GSync, so depending on whether you have amd or nvidia could be better option.

also this 37.5" 3440x1600 beast, the Acer XR382CQK
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N6S1P2D

the HP Omen X fits that, https://www.amazon.com/OMEN-HP-35-Curved-Display/dp/B01N0TFAW6

also the Asus PG348Q and Acer Predator, the 2 that were some of the first in this space i believe. i have the pg348q and am quite happy with it. if the Agon would have been out i would have gone that route though, as it is about $500 cheaper than what i paid.

several options around those specs now. some slightly larger than 34", but same resolution for the most part. other than the Acer XR382CQK.

I have the Acer XR382CQK which is slightly larger both in size and resolution, but it's a bit sleeker looking than the PG348Q and X34. It's still an IPS monitor and runs natively at 75Hz. Another option in that size would be the LG 38UC99 which also has the look you're looking for too.

Comes close enough for me

Edit: Ha, went up 100$ after I ordered it. At 1,100 it was probably closer to your range, not sure about 1200$

I purchased it from a local retailer named Microcenter. They have a couple dozen or stores around the country. This monitor is also available on Amazon.

It was released recently and Acer has been awfully quiet regarding this monitor. Their official product page actually has the wrong resolution. I was worried about being an early adopter considering the reputation of the X34 predators and the ritual of monitor swapping until a good build is received. Luckily the first XR382CQK I got was near perfect. Great build quality, excellent screen with no issues and very minimal backlight bleed (only at the very corners).

mm, technically they do exist at 37.5" https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XR382CQK-bmijqphuzx-UltraWide-FreeSync/dp/B01N6S1P2D
but they are too mainstream.
