The reason you say that is likely because you've never experienced the difference. Most of us went through the same realization, and that's why people are pushing you towards that.
Here is both an 240GB SSD and 4TB of storage at $102. $9 more than the drive you are looking at but hopefully that's close enough to your budget. Speed + Mass storage = best of both worlds. Obviously whenever you have money to upgrade, you can get a much bigger SSD if you want. But for now, you can put just your OS and any frequently used programs on the SSD, 240GB should be more than enough for that. Any truly massive game you might still want to just keep on your normal HD though to conserve some space.
Trust us when we say, a SDD will make a much bigger difference in your daily life, more than you even realize right now.

This will run those games listed very easily.
This, this, and this.
Drop less than $30 on a 240 then: link super worth it, and you can fit your OS + 3-4 games on it

Can you squeeze your budget a bit more?
You can double the size of that drive for another $9
Windows alone could take up most of that 60GB you're planning, and honestly depending on what you're doing with it, you could potentially live with less storage on the Linux side.

If you shop around you might find one even cheaper. If you have 8GB of RAM then you should be fine.
A good gaming setup for 582 leaving you with a little less than a thousand for the i9, motherboard, ram and maybe another fan.
