I hope people read and understand this...

A lot of the information surrounding this long conflict is very clouded and frankly inaccurate.

This is what I know.

There are 3 main political presences over there right now, we have 1) Mahmoud abbas - chairman of PLO (palestinian liberation statesman) 2) Hamas - has the main following 3) those they call "islamists" radicals, etc.

Now, you MUST keep an open mind and take everything with a grain of salt when watching the news - it is heavily influenced and based on bullshit facts. (You will recall a number of media outlets quoting reddit threads/users, and those users coming out and saying they were lying/joking/unsure to begin with. Think about this, then multiply it by many countries, media outlets and many many years. You'll understand why this situation is so F'd up)

To my knowledge, this following sentence is pretty damn accurate. may not have happened 100% of the time, but i believe it's safe to assume most of the time. The party that are firing rockets are #3, NOT #2. Has #2 ever fired rockets? yes, of course. However, #3 has fired them during ceasefire and hamas has actually had to police and go around the region and try to prevent them from firing those rockets.

Now here's the kicker, Israel doesn't really care to stop these rockets, because they have slowly been gaining land during every encounter. It is difficult to take more land from palestine when there is no war. Rockets being fired = perfect excuse. This is the bottom line and it is true. Especially after the war in the 70s, so many settlements were built on the land, effectively stealing the land from the palestinians.

In addition, a lot of farm being taken is farm land. How can a state be self governing/sustaining when there is no farm land? How will they eat? Right now, the borders to egypt are blocked, the coast is blocked. how are they supposed to feed themselves? there are Israeli checkpoints EVERYWHERE in palestine. You actually have to carry a permit to travel moderate distances. their land is slowly being encroached on and taken. You guys really need to understand this...how can people expect them to negotiate for peace when all of these things i've mentioned are happening? they're starving, scared, and are surrounded.

Now regarding Israel support and their manipulation of media...view this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_Internet_Defense_Force <----entire organization around ensuring their reputation and any comments/trends/threads are swayed in favor of Israel.

Now look at this video, former Israeli Minister speaking resounding words regarding "anti-semitic" comments: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0kWAqZxJVE

How's the US involved? well there's an entire book for that, and take a look at the reviews.: http://www.amazon.com/Against-Our-Better-Judgment-History/dp/149591092X/ref=cm_rdp_product

If you want an indepth, pretty damn accurate, origin history of palestine/israel, view this link: http://www.ifamericansknew.org/history/origin.html

Whoever thinks Israel forces are the best and do what they can to avoid civilian casualties are best to keep up to date on the news: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/israel-warns-gaza-strip-residents-evacuate-article-1.1868604 OR http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/worldviews/wp/2014/07/16/what-happened-when-palestinian-children-were-killed-in-front-of-a-hotel-full-of-journalists/?tid=trending_strip_1 <---palestinian kids were shot and killed because the ship thought they were "fleeing fighters" even though they were there for a while..and with journalists...

Please educate yourselves! I'm not saying I know everything, but at least don't be quick to parrot what you hear. Both sides are to blame, no one's perfect, but what is happening right now is terrible and it is so sad to see barely anyone gives a shit.

Both display hypocrisy. The College Fix (along with Minding the Campus) are good guides to some of the worst things happening on US campuses, including censorship of politically-incorrect views. Mondoweiss is a Jewish anti-Zionist website, and like most anti-Zionist projects, is steeped in left-wing ideology.

Mondoweiss complains about censorship by Zionists, but then supports refusing to have a debate with them, because they are 'oppressors', rejecting the American liberal way in favour of the leftist idea that words are violence.

The College Fix (which has frequent articles like this, along with Campus Reform) is pro-free-speech except for one issue. It exposes fake complaints about racism, except fake complaints by one ethnic group. When it comes to Jews and Zionism, it employs the hysterical language of the pc left - it even uses the word "problematic".

> "fearful about the safety of the Jewish community", "divisive and hateful rhetoric", "admiration of Adolf Hitler", "promoting violence against “Zionists”", "disrupting pro-Israel events, glorifying the work of terrorists and trying to silence their critics"

There's a word in Yiddish for breathtaking hypocrisy.

Students for Justice in Palestine is not only in favour of deplatforming Zionists, it also thought-polices Palestine solidarity. After Alison Weir of If Americans Knew published
Against Our Better Judgment: The Hidden History of How the U.S. Was Used to Create Israel, SJP's Stanford branch made the following statement on Facbook. It's a pack of lies.

> On Wednesday April 7, Stanford Students for Justice in Palestine decided to cancel our event “The Exiled Palestinians.” This was due to the presence of Alison Weir, who has openly expressed anti-Semitic sentiments. Although she was not invited, Ms. Weir came to our event with the purpose of selling copies of her book and distributing materials promoting her personal website. When asked to remove her materials, she eventually removed her books but left other materials advertising her website. We expressed our discomfort with her materials as well as her presence at our event given that she claimed to be associated with the event, but she refused to leave.

> Stanford SJP denounces anti-Semitism, as well as all forms of racism, homophobia, transphobia, classism, ableism, and identity-based oppression. Our group draws a clear distinction between Zionism and Judaism, and we do not conflate the two. Ms. Weir, however, has made a number of remarks that blatantly attack the Jewish people as whole. In addition, Ms. Weir has also made derogatory remarks about Arabs, endorsed speech by a former head of the KKK, denied the impact of South African Apartheid, and referred to communism as a Jewish conspiracy. We find such speech to be unacceptable, and it has no place in our movement.

> We are sorry that we could not host this event as an opportunity to hear Palestinian voices, however we remain committed to making sure that our spaces do not play host to individuals who advance white supremacist discourses.

\>not funding rather than investing

Man, the brazenness of this assertion.

Israel has been not only a financial drain but also a moral taint and a strategic liability to the US ever since the US mistakenly was bamboozled into recognizing it

It's called Zionism and it's the elephant in the room. A Zionist has one goal in life; to ensure the survival of that little terrorist organization called Israel.

These are highly educated people, and they're crazy as hell. They'll orchestrate the murder of a few thousand people in a microsecond. They'll then use their fellow Zionists in the media, finance, and government to make you believe it was some entity that had fuck all to do with it. And they'll get away with it... again.

The POTUS knows very well he has no control over these psychopaths. He's surrounded by them.

Do some homework on the topic. Put your training wheels on and check this book out. It may be at your local library.

There's a great book recently published about how and why the US decided to be so close to Israel

Against our Better Judgment: The Hidden History of How the U.S. Was Used to Create Israel
http://www.amazon.com/Against-Our-Better-Judgment-History/dp/149591092X

Summary: US politicians were bombarded by a massive pro-Israel lobbying effort that ranged from well-funded and very public Zionist organizations to an "elitist secret society" whose members included Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis.

Please read this book as it will lay the foundation for your understanding of what is happening.

See, there aren't too many people in the US who really caref, and a few who really did, and no Arab voices certainly to counter them.
Also
1-Holocast guilt

2- Evangelical zeal

3- Israeli PR efforts to portray themselves ad a Western-style democracy y in a sea of barbarians, and this resonated with Americans who also viewed themselves es as pioneers.

4- Good old fashioned Islamophobia, stirred up by pro Israeli agents like the Clarion Fund and Rabbi Boteach
