USPS fucked up my order. Dude knocked on my door. I yelled "Coming!", and heard him shout something back. I live in a small apartment, didn't take more than 10 seconds to get from my bedroom to the door. He was gone. I had 3 choices of which direction to try to find the dude, but didn't even think of trying 1, I was so confused at the absence of someone who I thought would be there.

But he left a little piece of paper saying that he left it at my apt's office. The office was right across from my door, so I tried to pick it up there. It was closed.

Fuck. That. Shit.

I called customer service and they tried to tell me that due to his route, he wouldn't be able to return to me that same day. I didn't take that answer. He had responded to my call of "I'm coming" so I knew he heard me, he left a note about leaving my package in the office which was false, he needed to come back. CS agent said that she'd try to talk to her supervisors about getting my package delivered the same day, I reluctantly accepted what she said and we both ended the call.

The package came later that day, thank God.

That reminds me of why I'm really wary about buying from Amazon; everything I've received through them has an instruction (on the delivery sticker) for the deliverer, something like "leave package if no response." The ONLY time that's happened was when I ordered a ~$300 [Electronic Wind Instrument], NO ONE knocked or rang the doorbell, I just saw the box when I left for work...

These guys gave great answers and i personally wouldn't drop 1k on a gift especially on something that may get little to no use, or collect dust as i often see people try to pick up or get back on insteuments and lose interest.

A saxophone has diminishing skill and it sucks to go back after 3+ days and build up again. And it's a bitch to sell one.

I honestly think this would be better check it out and tell me what you think, send him a text like "i just saw this crazy thing, what do you think of these?"

•cheaper
•has no diminishing skill
•you can change voices
•dont have to buy so much tech (logs, mpcs, reeds, files, rags, grease, padsavers, etc.)

Of course i'm just going off assumptions as i've never played one but just something to think about.

That’s a rough deal, but don’t give up!

If you can play trumpet to be got the hard bits of music down:

reading pitch

reading rhythm.

Pick up some mallets and figure out how to play marimba!

You could also pick up a midi controller like this:

I bet your band director will work with you to keep you engaged with the group making music and challenging you to be a greater musician (source: I am a band director)

Check out an EWI, they are a bit more expensive, but they are a blast to play. Link to one on amazon!

Basically, some of them can't make any sound, they can just act as a controller for a program on a computer that does.

Others have a small computer or 'synth' onboard which makes the sounds. Those ones are more expensive. The one I know of doesn't have a speaker, just a headphone output, which is easy enough to get to a speaker. Here it is on amazon but it's twice as costly as the one that hooks up to USB and uses your computer do the heavy lifting
