My seb derm is stubborn and a mofo to treat, especially in certain circumstances. If I were to be sweating, as you mention you exercise, it is absolutely worse. I appreciate your troubles. The link above is what I use, it's a higher strength Tgel and doesn't stink like Tgel. I found Tgel ineffective, it simply didn't do anything.

Everyone is different, obviously, which makes treating seb derm tough. But, there are some general helpful 'rules' which you may already be doing or not be aware of. Wash your hair daily, while you're dealing with a flair up. Make sure your hair is throughly dried after washing your hair and use the medicated shampoo of your choice according to instructions. If you wear makeup, try removing makeup before working out and wash face after working out. Sweat will make seb derm worse, makeup can aggravate seb derm as can moisturisers, sunscreens. Be sure you're using products that won't aggravate but rather calm your condition, here's a https://simpleskincarescience.com/?s=Malassezia that has assisted me throughout my journey to talk the beast of seb derm.
Maybe try applying the fluocinonide to your scalp at night, on the areas affected. It is a steroid, so please be aware that there are side effects to using it.
I hope you're able to find a suitable solution, it's really tough to find something that works and works well consistently.
I have this and this shampoo https://www.amazon.co.uk/Alphosyl-798627860168-2-in-1-Medicated-Shampoo/dp/B006EHYRK2 is by far the best. I use it a few times a week to keep it at bay. Nizorol does not compare to this IMO!
Also just to add I'm using this with minoxidil and derma rolling. Only a month in, but it seems to be making a difference!
