Amazon sells an Ergotron arm that's branded as AmazonBasics Premium Single Monitor Stand. It's 100$, but is half the price of the Ergotron branded one.

And your sketch made me giggle, haha!

Edit: Added links to the Amazon & Ergotron models. If you look at the Amazon product in black, one of their images shows what's included in the box. If you view this image and look at the manual, at the top left is the Ergotron logo. I used to have two of these Erogtron branded arms from 2005-2017. They are AWESOME though spendy--the Amazon branded one is a great deal. Great articulation/adjustment options. I have junky monitor arms in my office and they work as far as holding your monitor, but you can't adjust on-the-fly, they require tools to tighten/loosen bolts and feel flimsy.

The monitor isn't super special, kinda got it for free through a random gift card, but it's been pretty good.

FYI, when you post Amazon links you can delete all the “ref” (reference) stuff. That’s just Amazon trying to track you/how you got to the link. Example URL:

At least some Amazon Basics monitor arms are rebranded Ergotron arms.

I use this one on my 38" UW and it's Rock solid:

It's a gas spring arm I found in my local electronics store. I can't see any mention of it on the internet so I assume it's a rebranded arm from somewhere else.

I kinda wanna switch it out for the Amazon Basics monitor arm as mine is a bit on the weak side for this monitor. Having problems with it tilting down all the time.

u/i_lack_imagination · 10 pointsr/Tools

I've seen a lot of products cheaper at Black Friday. Often when I look at price history sites for various products, the lowest price is right around Black Friday. For products I'm interested in and follow the pricing to watch for lower prices, I have seen lower prices around Black Friday.

Now do all of them get lower prices? No, so sometimes you can wait for BF and no sale ever happens for that product.

For example, I was looking at something like this last year
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MIBN16O/
If you look at price history on keepa or camelcamelcamel, that hasn't been sold for much less than $100 by amazon since last year around black friday (and it was sold for $85), with about one exception, a lightning deal on Amazon Prime Day where it was supposedly sold for $70.

And that's not the only one I've looked at semi-frequently, there's others that have roughly the same kind of pricing history.

I picked up the AW3418DW that's currently a Prime Day Deal for $719 (usually around $850). 34" ultrawide, 1900R, WQHD 3440 x 1440p Resolution, 4ms, 100Hz (120Hz OC), G-Sync, 21:9.

Also got an AmazonBasics Arm Mount for $70 (usually $100).

u/GrssHoppr · 6 pointsr/ultrawidemasterrace

It's 26lbs with the stand. That's important when looking into weight compatibility. The stand alone weighs 10lbs. I have the same AW3418DW mounted on the AmazonBasics single arm mount, works great!

u/bluebirdhaze · 6 pointsr/ultrawidemasterrace

Its a mix of these two.

and

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MIBN16O/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They both have the exact same pole diameters, so the arm for the UW fit over the standing desk mount.

The amazon basics is a really good arm. The other is great, just wish the clamp was as wide as the amazon arm (that I can't use for this combo) for extra support. No problems with the weight though.

Mind sharing what OS you will be using?

In my own experience using Windows 10, high-DPI displays are much better than lower DPI displays.

My main Windows machine at the moment is a 15" MacBook Pro Retina with a 24" ViewSonic VX2475SMHL-4K monitor mounted on an AmazonBasics (Ergotron) display mounting arm in portrait mode.

My second machine is a ThinkPad W520 FHD with a 20" NEC LCD2070NX 1600x1200 monitor.

The pixels per inch for these displays and your X1 Yoga WQHD are:

221 ppi - MacBook Pro Retina 15"
210 ppi - ThinkPad X1 Yoga WQHD
187 ppi - ViewSonic VX2475SMHL-4K
141 ppi - ThinkPad W520 FHD
100 ppi - NEC LCD2070NX

I have the Windows scaling set to 250% on the MBPR and 150% on the W520.

Text looks nice on all these displays except for the old NEC monitor where it is so-so. On the MBPR and the ViewSonic, the text quality is glorious. It's so much better than the lower-density displays that I will never go back when higher-density options are available.

One key is that I ran the ClearType tuner and adjusted the text rendering individually for each display. (And yes, even on the ViewSonic in portrait mode, ClearType helps after I tuned it.)

In particular, I found I gravitated toward the heavier, darker choices that the ClearType tuner offered. It really made a difference. On the MBPR and ViewSonic, text of all sizes is a pleasure to read.

I prefer larger font sizes myself - I'm not a "cram as much tiny text on the screen as possible" guy - but whatever the font size it's more readable on the high-DPI displays.

u/ResQ_ · 5 pointsr/pcgaming

The best thing for that is buying an arm for your desk and monitor. Like this:

(There's cheaper ones but I personally use this one and can recommend it)

4k screens that are >60hz are ~2k$, so that's out of the question.

I'd recommend the Monoprice 32" 4k display and the Amazonbasics monitor stand for it

Ive had an Acer X34 on on an Amazon Basics Arm for several months now and going on the comments section I'm not alone in putting 34" on this arm or liking the quality of it.

I use the following arm -> https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00MIBN16O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This holds an X34P without issue, though you may have to crank the spring tension quite high (in order to hold the weight).

I have some experience with both the X34 (not P) and the AW3418DW.

Edit: I misread your post and thought you were comparing the X34 to the AW3418DW. So the below is a comparison to an older X34 model and the AW3418DW. Might not be as helpful in retrospect but still might have some good detail. My overall impression of the AW3418DW is quite strong, and I have no issues with it. I'm not sure if they've improved the UI on the X34P, but if not, then that could be one thing that the AW3418DW might have over it.

Original Post: I'd been using the X34 for a couple years now. Best monitor I've ever had, really stellar. Then I moved into a new house. I set down my monitor quickly on my desk and thought it was stable. Then I as I was moving something else in the room, I guess something else bumped the table. The monitor fell straight down onto my new hardwood floors. Really hard crash. I knew it couldn't have survived. Booted it up to check, and sure enough, the panel had shattered. RIP. I was so pissed at myself for being careless. I guess I've just always had the feeling that "that wouldn't happen to me."~~

So I went to buy another X34 and was glad to see the price had dropped (I paid $1200 USD for it in 2016). But I decided to look at other options. I'd considered the Omen X which was even cheaper, but it seemed to have some spotty reviews here and there. But this post and it got me to start considering the AW3418DW. After doing a bit of research on the monitor, and just kind of wanting to try something different, I went with it.

It think it's noticeably better than the X34. First, the X34 had some very slight ghosting that I'd gotten used to. But seeing this monitor, god damn. It's perfect. Animations look so smooth on it. With my X34, when I overclocked it to 100 hz, but I honestly never noticed it looking much different. Looking into it, I don't think I was the only one with the issue overclocking the X34. Seems there may be some luck or tinkering involved to get it right.

The AW3418DW out of the box looked better than my X34 even without the overclock. But at 100 and 120hz, I notice even more of an improvement. The frames are so smooth. I think I notice it because I'd been using the X34 for so long. I'm sort of savoring it because it looks extra awesome right now. Eventually I'll probably get used to it and this will be my new "normal" and it won't be as awesome.

I think the colors look about equal on the two monitors. However, the AW3418DW has a way better UI, so it was much easier to get the colors set to the way I wanted. The UI is so much better on the AW3418DW, no comparison. The buttons just make sense and they are simple to use. With the X34 I constantly found myself hitting the wrong thing and needing to start over.

Finally, this might be a QC thing, but I had some very slight backlight bleed on my X34. It was more noticeable when the image was mostly dark, but it was there along most of the edges. The AW3418DW also has some slight backlight bleed, but this is isolated to the bottom two corners of the screen and it's really small. Like the X34, I only really notice it when the image on the screen is black or extremely dark. So about equal there.

Anyway, I think they are both great monitors. Perhaps over time I'll find some faults with the AW3418DW. But right now I think the AW3418DW is an improvement. That being said, I never would have simply discarded my (working) X34 to buy the AW3418DW. It wasn't that much better. If I could do it all over again, I'd probably switch out the AW3418DW to get my money back and not have a broken X34. ~~

I dunno if it'll work with your desk, and it adds some more $ to the purchase, but I recommend getting a monitor arm. I got this Amazon one for my new monitor and it seems to support the weight well. Don't mess up like I did and trust these big wobbly monitors on these shitty stands they come on. Get your investment secured either with a wall mount or a desk clamp like this one.~~

u/Pomerilly · 3 pointsr/ultrawidemasterrace

For the same price, why not consider the AmazonBasics Single Premium Monitor Stand (made by Ergotron)? It holds up my bulky 22 pound monitor with ease, even at a loose tension level -- had to actually lower the tension considerably because the tilt and arm would not budge on stock with the monitor on.

It also has quite a bit of reviews mentioning the stand in tandem with the AW3418DW.

u/achikochi · 3 pointsr/japanlife

I don't have a chair recommendation, but other general ergonomic suggestions (which you may have already tried but just in case):

-Do you have a footrest?

-If you're tall, have you tried elevating your display?

A footrest* makes a world of difference for me and I just got an adjustable arm* to mount my main display on. I'm a graphic designer and inclined to hunch forward when I'm focused on work, these things are helping my neck/shoulder pain a lot.

u/MoogleMan3 · 2 pointsr/ultrawidemasterrace

I have mine wall mounted and use an omnimount play25x. Pricey, but it really is worth every penny. Zeos did a video mounting his portrait NEC ultrawide on one and that video is what sold it for me. Extremely well built, great instructions, incredibly smooth motion.

If I needed a clamp on desk mount, I'd get the amazonbasics mount. 25lb limit, IIRC made by ergotron. Ergotron also owns the omnimount brand.

u/GTR128 · 2 pointsr/Monitors

Does anyone know if the AmazonBasics one is good? I am in the market for a stand

u/melete · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Can't help there, I'm just a junk monitor right now myself. I've been looking at the AmazonBasics for when I buy a new monitor, but I am sure there are some good monitors stands that cost a little less. These VESA mounts work with any monitor that has the VESA mounting holes on the back. Bigger monitors will need a heftier stand, though.

u/Violander · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Even size wise though, it's too small.

My AOC is "35, and most gaming ultrawides (X34/Z35 and acers) are "34+

The cheapest one I've seen that's okay quality is https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Single-Monitor-Display-Mounting/dp/B00MIBN16O/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1505381144&sr=1-1&keywords=amazon+basics+monitor+arm

u/cobyatch · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Yup, here you go! The only pet peeve I would say is that the base doesn't line up with the monitor exactly center when pushed back, but I think that's how all monitor arms are gonna end up being unless you go with one of the static mounts.

u/navajofox · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Right, I have a mount for my widescreen but use the regular mount for the secondary. It's not terrible and still saved me tons of desk space.

Also, the mount that I have does have a hair of a lean to it after mounting the monitor on it. You may see it in the photo its slightly to the right. I believe if I add a block of wood like this guy it will reduce the lean.
either way I am happy with the mount and stock stand setup, but still looking for a mount for both. I probably will just give in and get two mounts.

u/carb0nxl · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Thank you kindly!
It's not actually a triple monitor stand. Only the side monitors are on desk clamp mounts and the middle one is too heavy for the cheap mounts I'm using.

This is what I'm currently using.

However, I've already seen this particular mount in person and I really do want to invest in this for the future when I can afford it. It was amazing how well it articulates and holds its position (it's on gas springs) despite my friend using a heavy monitor on it.

But yeah if you're on a budget like I originally was, the $15 mounts will suit you well (within reason).

u/kunami987 · 2 pointsr/gamingpc

I have a very similar setup to yours with 2 24" outside monitors flanking an ultrawide in the middle.

I use 2 of the AmazonBasics mounts for the outside monitors and an Ergotron MX mount arm for the ultrawide. I chose the MX because it was one of the few arms I found that could support the weight of the PG348Q and had adjustable clamps to fit the size of my desk.

u/foreveracubone · 2 pointsr/ultrawidemasterrace

Just mounted mine on this.

Very stable once everything was tightened. Any mount that advertises 32” monitor support and that can hold up the weight of the monitor without the stand should be fine.

To actually mount it, if you lay it face down, you’ll see that the stand attaches to the monitor under 2 panels. I used the curved foam that was in the box to lay it down on + a cloth to avoid damaging it.

There’s a small hole in between where both panels meet. Just use a screw driver or something else to wedge into that hole and pop one of the panels out. The other will pop out effortlessly after.

Once the panels are gone, you’ll be able to easily unscrew the stand and attach the monitor to the arm of w/e mount you use. It’s standard VESA but there’s an additional mounting bracket included with the monitor if needed.

As far as adjustability goes, any VESA mountable monitor can be attached to a wall or table mount [like this.]
(https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Single-Monitor-Display-Mounting/dp/B00MIBN16O/) This will give you far more viewing options than a regular stand and is a great tool for comfort and readability.

I can't recommend a specific model of monitor to you (no idea what mine are aside from ASUS brand, and they don't have speakers) but any modern monitor from a reputable brand should be suitable for zoomtext use. Personally I suggest buying two matching monitors if possible (even if you have to buy somewhat smaller to afford it) because for zoomtext, horizontal space is worth WAY more than vertical space so the second monitor really helps.

If the monitor has mounting holes on the back, you could screw 2 big L-profiles onto that.

I've used an Amazon brand arm with some success. It served me pretty well, though I felt the monitor might have been too heavy for it at times. It required a lot of tightening to keep it from drooping. Great arm though overall!

Recently I switched to the much more expensive Ergotron DX which has been overall much sturdier for me.

Both have about the same range of motion and articulation.

As for desks, I currently use an IKEA Bekant (motorized sit/stand version) which is not small. However they sell it in a smaller size. The legs are quite sturdy and the tabletop I use is pretty thick so I have no safety concerns there as far as weight goes. You can always get a custom top if you want to go thicker. On the site it's not rated very highly and I think perhaps there were flaws in the electrical components early on. In my personal experience, I've had the desk for the last six months and experienced no difficulties yet. I love it so far.

Good luck on your hunt.

u/nicking44 · 2 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

acourding to this on /r/ultrawidemasterrace says he's using one that's up to "27" for a 34' just makes sure it dosn't go over the weight pretty much.

but the highest rated post (3 points) was one recomending these

but this is getting off topic for this sub, so you can always head over to the subtreddit and ask, and see if you get other answers.

I have a 34UC88 desk-mounted using the AmazonBasics arm; it'll work with the 34UC98 too as I was deciding between those 2 monitors when I purchased mine.

I had the same issue in that it was taking up a little too much space depth-wise on the desk and the arm has definitely helped with that.

Hope that helps.

I'm buying the Ikea Malm desk for my apartment;I currently have two of these 24 in G-Sync monitors, and I was thinking of VESA mounting them onto the desk.

Does anyone have experience with using a VESA mount on this particular desk? I was considering using the Amazon Basics dual VESA mount arm, but then I saw some people online who have had their VESA mounts smash through Ikea desks. However, each arm supports 20lbs, and the monitors themselves only weigh 8.3lb each, so I'm inclined to think that the arms wouldn't be too stressed?

As an alternative, I also considered getting two of the single arm mounts, because those might distribute the weight more evenly across the desk.

Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated!

u/e60deluxe · 2 pointsr/buildapc

i dont think the UW being fixed where it is going to work out well. atleast if you could mount to the wall, you can do something like this. it will end up bringing the monitor about 8 inches plus the thickness of the monitor in front of the other one. this is not ideal, but it atleast works IF you can mount the arm high enough on the wall.

in my original idea, i thought you could simply push the UW inward, close to the wall (either by sliding the base or by having it on another arm) and then pull the upper monitor down. it would be very simple, two step process. push inward, slide down.

But you would still need to push the UW inward, because the upper monitor would require about an 8 inch gap to clear the monitor. so unless you were ok with the gaming monitor coming down about 8 inches (plus its own thickness, so probably 9.5-10 inches) in front, the UW would HAVE to move.

https://imgur.com/a/oZLS2fW

to be clear, it doesnt matter how far off the back wall the two monitors are, the difference between the two monitors would have to remain about 8 inches minimum. so if you pushed the UW inward 8 inches, the gaming monitor could come straight down.

some Samsung monitors (but none of the gaming monitors) have the VESA mounts toward the top of the monitor. in that case, you can reduce that 8 inches, to probably more like 4 inches, But like i said, its only samsung ive seen, and not their gaming monitors. but then, you would need to mount even HIGHER to the wall.

|=========================================|

that all being said, thats for mounting one to the wall. without being able to mount to the wall I can think of another way, but you pretty much need two arms.

and both monitors would have to move. so you would move one completely out of the way, then bring the other one in, and Visa Versa.

for example. have the UW centered in front of you with the gaming monitor either flipped up or to the right (or left) of you. move the UW to the left (or right) via the arm and then flip the gaming monitor down or move it from the right (or from the left) to centered

i tried drawing that one in paint, but in 2D and my poor skills it doesnt really make sense.

I dont know. i feel like some of these things depend on the depth of your desk, and how far away or close you are willing to sit in front of either monitor (and whether it has to be the same) but this is just my guess.

one thing is, it seems as though amazon makes their own version which is cheaper.

I painted the Ergotron arm black, and it looks really nice IMO.

u/illucere · 2 pointsr/wacom

Hey!
As long as you have the Cintiq 24, and a VESA compatible monitor arm system, the adapter plate includes everything you will need to attach the two together.

EDIT: Anything with a VESA 100x100 pattern would work. Theoretically I could make it for VESA 75x75, but that's pretty uncommon.

Most people are using the Ergotron LX or something similar:

I'm personally using the AmazonBasics version. It's actually made by Ergotron in the same factory. The labels on the box openly say so, and its 40 bucks less.

I've also got some vision impairment in one eye from a detached retina years ago. There is an amazon basics branded arm which I use and I believe would fit your needs. It will extend about 24 inches and you can move it just about anyway you can imagine. Also has a clamp that will work as long as your desk is at least half an inch thick.

I'm using a Cintiq Pro 24 on an Amazon Basics monitor arm.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MIBN16O/

(I also have an Ergotron arm and the two are virtually identical in function. The Amazon one is just $50 less.)

In my case, I drilled a hole through my table for the arm to mount through. Personally, I think this is a much more stable mounting solution as opposed to clamping it to the edge of the desk.

There is a dual monitor version of this arm available from Amazon as well. Though I cannot personally comment on how well it would work with a Cintiq. I use a dual arm at work just fine, but that's just a pair of 10 pound monitors, way less than the ~30 of a Cinitq.

The key thing is the weight the stand can support. In the case of the one you linked, it can handle up to 10Kg/22lb; if your monitor weighs that much or less, it will work with that stand. If not, you'll need to find a stand rated for larger weights.

You can probably find something cheaper, but I've used this desk-mounted stand to mount a 32" 4K monitor, so it should be sufficient to handle a 29" Ultrawide.

Looking for a new monitor arm with hidden cable management

Hey,

I'm looking for a new monitor arm, specifically one that hides/manages cables really well. I have a USB-C monitor, however, I'm on my work laptop at home a few days a week, which requires a couple extra cables and looks a mess when not in use.

Currently it's between the Jarvis Monitor Arm or the AmazonBasics Premium

Does anyone have experience with either of these or something possibly better? Doesn't have to be ergonomic as long as it hides cables really well. Also, black is preferred.

Thanks!

I've got these, the cable grommet holes in my desk are way oversized, these were the best fit (still had to fab plates for the underside, but that was just drilling holes in wide pieces of steel)

http://smile.amazon.com/Ergotron-45-248-026-Stacking/dp/B0036RDOT8

They're expensive, but built like tanks. Amazon Basics has the single arm and the side by side version in all black, for a bit cheaper. http://smile.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Single-Monitor-Display-Mounting/dp/B00MIBN16O/ You could buy two of the singles, and just slide the second one's arm onto the same pole as the other one. Spare base if needed.

I'd go with something cheaper from monoprice if you can, and most of the monoprice stuff is cheaper shipped from Amazon (monoprice charges a bunch for shipping, kills their lower prices).

EDIT: Or you could use a dual monitor stand, and use both arms united as one with a kind of rail connecting them together, but still, even then you'd be having a 40-45 LBS maximum weight

My only concern is monitor arms mounting onto the Vivistand Quattro - worried that they won't be able to clamp onto the back with the track system.

I'm using the Amazon Basics Ergotron rebrand for my 34U100. It has held up so far, the gas struts are adjustable.

You can get a stationery monitor mount, which allows you to pull the screen closer, tilt, and rotate, but doesn't allow individual height adjustment for each monitor such as this.

Or you can get three individual mounts, which allow full mobility (up, down, closer, farther, & rotate) such as this.

There's double/triple versions of these as well. Double. Or Triple.

Good brands include: Ergotron, Ergrotech, VIVO, & Amazon's version. Mount-It and Cable Matters both make some as well, but I haven't used these ever.

If you want something that allows you to pull the screen forward maybe this is waht you're looking for. It gives you full range of motion basically; height/swivel/tilt/depth/etc. There's also gas spring arms that are wall mountable as well.

I just got my PG348Q a few days ago and quickly realized I needed a monitor arm as it takes up most of the space on my desk. I spent hours searching and looking for a mount the other day and finally settled on this one:

  • Vivo Single LCD Monitor Desk Mount -- Video Review

The primary reason I purchased this one was because it was the only one that offered 2-day shipping via Amazon Prime. I didn't want to wait 1-2 weeks to get it. I'm somewhat impatient. :)

But that said, I was ready to purchase the Freedom Arm if I could find it anywhere that offered better shipping options:

  • Ergotech Freedom Arm Mount -- Video Review -- Some have suggested the HD version, but most have said it's overkill for this monitor, so the non-HD version is likely to work just fine.

  • AmazonBasics Single Monitor Display Mounting Arm -- Video Review

  • AC Z1 3D MONITOR ARM

Mind you I am in Canada, so the shipping options to the US will be better.

These recommendations are based off research that indicates they all support the PG348Q, or a 34" monitor of similar weight without any issue.

Also, I have a very solid desk, so I cannot comment on what would work for you, but as others have already suggested, you'll most likely need to replace your desk to support your monitor.

    Hope this helps!

I have one of these AmazonBasics jobs for the monitor on the right, and the name brand two monitor equivalent for the two center ones.

The AmazonBasics one is 99.99% identical to the Ergotron arms, except for the paint and price.

The dual arms for the center monitors aren't necessary, I could've gone with a much cheaper stand that wasn't as flexible. The monitors are too big to really maneuver even with the arms.

u/tabletnostradamus · 1 pointr/wacom

Amazon makes their own version of an Ergotron arm for $100US. Should work with a 22HD if it has a VESA mount. Warning: it does jiggle a bit when you draw on the tablet in mid-air, unless you have a really light touch, same goes for all the monitor arms of this design.

I have two Amazon Basics Monitor arms for my Fredde. I can send pictures later. What you do is fit them into the back cupholders.

The monitors actually sit in front of the Hutch in the air, and not in the "pocket."

What you could do is remove the shelf that you measured, put your middle monitor standing normally in the middle, then use arms for the side monitors. Or something like that.

Here are the arms I got.

u/Samoas2 · 1 pointr/battlestations

u/thelatestmodel · 1 pointr/retrogaming

How much do you want to spend? How big is your display? These are very common for desks to allow PC monitors to reposition and rotate, but you might struggle if the display is over 30".

u/hodlhodl33 · 1 pointr/AskBattlestations

I have had all three of those desks actually for different purposes. You must go with the ikea one and maybe consider having chair legs on every corner.

I can tell you if you buy an Origami you will regret it. The footspace under neath is too high up, it will feel like sitting in a first graders desk. It is really lightweight, easy to move, and good value though.

I'd be worried about the Coavas because the wood looks really thin.

What I did was bought your traditional pick your own parts Ikea desk. Put a leg on every corner. I used amazon basics monitor arm and put it on the corner of the desk. I'm not sure I trust putting it in the direct center. If you have multiple heavy monitors you may consider getting multiple monitor arms to balance the weight.

In the picture you showed it looks like an ikea desk. You can tell the monitor arm is not designed well as all the weight seems to really be centered and towards the front of the desk. The base is also really small which makes a small pressure point. So look for a monitor arm with a larger base.

u/symbolsix · 1 pointr/buildapc

Several people have already said that a chair is good to have, so I'll suggest one of these for each monitor:

https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Premium-Single-Monitor-Stand/dp/B00MIBN16O/

Lets you switch from sit to stand quickly & easily, and lets you adjust your screens' positions individual to accommodate monitors of different models or sizes. Highly recommended.

u/drawkin · 1 pointr/wacom

I did this for my citiq companion, which should work for the intuous 3 (that's the 8" tall one, right?)

I'm using a really old, shitty desk purchased from Walmart like ~10 years ago and have 0 problems with stability. I was worried for a little while that it was going to just tip one day or even just break the desk but it's been going strong for about ~1.5 years now.

Here's the mount I'm using...

I have a 27" QNIX and a 22" Asus mounted to it and it's been nothing short of perfect. The arms can be titled and move horizontally but the height isn't very adjustable, at least not easily. You basically set it to the height based on pre-drilled holes on the vertical standing arm (the part that mounts to the desk) and just stick a screw in to hold it there. If you want to adjust height you'll have to remove the screw and likely take the monitors off before sliding it up/down. If you want something that's easily adjustable in height, you'll be spending more in the ~75-100$ range as opposed to ~40$ for a less-dynamic model.

It sounds like you may just have a single monitor though... If you have no plans to add another then I'd just get something like the Amazon Basics for 99$ or the Mount-It! for 39$.

The Amazon model gives you pretty much the maximum adjust-ability but it's a bit pricey (not really, other mounts are just cheap). The single arm Mount-It! I linked is a little more adjustable on-the-fly than my personal mount I posted earlier but costs about the same as the dual-mount.

Also, I use a sit-to-stand desk at work and love it. I get pain in my lower back from my terrible posture and generally can't sit still too long without getting up to walk around a bit. Being able to stand and work whenever really helped limit my back pain and I love being able to move about. The downside is that they're pretty damn expensive... For a reference, we have Ergotrons where I work.

If I had to guess I'd say it was this model specifically. That whole 'desk' mounts on your actual computer desk and can be raised/lowered and adjusted in all sorts of positions.

edit and now that you've got me looking into all of this again, I'm thinking of upgrading to something more adjustable like the Amazon Basics mount but a dual-monitor version. IMO just skip the cheaper model and get something more dynamic like the Amazon mount.

u/Silverjerk · 1 pointr/ultrawidemasterrace

Looks like the CF791. I have the same display and used the Amazon Basics mount here: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Premium-Single-Monitor-Stand/dp/B00MIBN16O/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1549426699&sr=8-4&keywords=ergotron+arm

The way these are mounted, using the included bracket, is a little awkward, but it works for my needs.

u/martindm03 · 1 pointr/buildapc

If the back of the display is vesa mount compatible, you could get one of those arms that mounts to your desk, since you can't wall mount it due to the window.

u/qazme · 1 pointr/ultrawidemasterrace

I bought the amazon basics arm, looks similar to that one, and it was perfect for my Alienware AW3418DW.

The biggest difference is the arms that I can see is the one you linked hold ~19lbs where the amazon advertise 26lbs.

The x34 is 22lbs and the DW34 is 25lbs. I think you'll probably be fine - but you might want to take into consideration the weight rating of the arm you buy. I think the weights listed might include the stands though.

u/mellovibes75 · 1 pointr/battlestations

I have the Amazon Basics version of the Ergotron gas arm and I can say it is really really nice. The tension is adjustable so it can support almost any monitor. Has no problem with the 34" ultrawide I put on it.

WALI Premium Dual LCD Monitor Desk Mount

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DM7N5BH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_WVAhDb3XXSXM0

The WALI dual lists that it supports up to 17.6lbs per display so with my 16lb alienware I figured it wouldn’t be an issue. To my displeasure the 34” curved ended up falling even with the gas spring being fully tightened. So I used the arm from the Amazon Basics (which supports up to 25lbs) and sure enough it fit onto the base of the WALI no problem. Not the most ideal or cost effective solution but it works for me.

For me it is. When I look up at a screen it makes me dizzy.

I have 3, but to the left and right, and It takes up about 4.5 feet of desk.

If you have enough width in the room, but the desk isn't wide enough you can get flex arms and float the monitors in the air over the edge of the desk.

How about another way of gaining table top space? I have explored the idea of using that same worktable as a desk and 24" depth is a bit shallow for a tradition computer gear on it. I'm assuming you have a keyboard, monitor and mouse on the desktop, but what about attaching the monitors to a flexible arm the attaches to the back edge of the desk.

https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Premium-Single-Monitor-Stand/dp/B00MIBN16O/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=monitor+arm&qid=1563223059&s=electronics&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&sr=1-3

That way you gain all the space the the monitor stand takes up and can slide the keyboard back a bit for forearm resting space.

Or attach a forearm rest to the front of the desk, https://www.amazon.com/Pauner-Forearm-Support-Better-Keyboard/dp/B01CD4K0OQ

Basically the tabletop is heavy duty and great to use, and without enough tools, there aren't a lot of great solutions to fabricate new or additional space.
