Intel doesnt make that cpu anymore, its not up to Intel, ask retailers.

And to answer it, because people pay for it for upgrades.

For most things the 3600 is a sidegrade from a 7700k, but yeah id get the 3600 instead.

Would you buy an fx8350 for $210?
Amazon is selling it at
the same price.169.99Edit: price went up :(
All of it: http://www.amazon.com/AMD-FD8350FRHKBOX-FX-8350-FX-Series-Edition/dp/B009O7YUF6
It is an AMD FX-8350, a CPU for computers, which I build.
That's the normal price at Amazon. No tax, and it's available with Prime shipping.
What are you going to do with your PC? If it's just gaming then an i7 is a bit overkill. I'd recommend the FX 8350 with this build and if you want to overclock, I'd recommend the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler. And you're right, it would be a great gift!
First off, I'd like to confirm that this is your motherboard.
http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4305#ov
If it is, you can see from the page there that the socket is AM3+, so you'll want to find a processor that fits this socket. If you look at pcpartpicker, you can easily find processors that fit these specification.
http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/cpu/#k=4
(hopefully that link works, it should processors that fit the AM3+ socket type, make sure that is checked on the right side of the screen)
Ok, so here comes the recommendation. I highly recommend the 8350, as it is one of the processors that rivals intel's chips most commonly used for gaming. You shouldn't have any problems playing any games on it, as your GPU will most likely be the bottleneck.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009O7YUF6/?tag=pcpapi-20
I'm also inclined to ask the wattage on your power supply, and who the manufacturer is. You wouldn't want to put a more intensive processor and risk everything because of a power supply that isn't adequate. You should be fine, seeing as you currently have a 660 installed, but please do a check to make sure you'll be ok installing a new CPU. I would recommend any power supply made by a well-known manufacturer, above 450-500 watts.
Eh, DDR3 is expensive for what it is, but that's if you buy it new which I wouldn't recommend for this kind of system. An Fx-8350 costs as much as a 2 Gen Ryzan 5 at this point, there really isn't much of a case for building one new. However you can usually find killer deals on second hand sites like shopgoodwill.com. Some of the machines will need repairs (most of the time a hard drives/ssd does the trick) but I've always had pretty good luck with them.
I don't know how much you are willing to spend but a good AM3+ processor is this http://www.amazon.com/AMD-FD8350FRHKBOX-FX-8350-8-Core-Processor/dp/B009O7YUF6/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1450884680&sr=1-1&keywords=fx+8350
Just wanted to point out that Amazon has price matched.
It sounds like it would be worth the upgrade. More games are being optimized for more cores and it really starts to make a difference with newer titles.

Amazon Reviews Search
Amazon only has 1 review for 975 to 8350. Newegg has 4. I really hope in the future these reviews would have a field for previous hardware to help gauge where they were coming from.
If you're looking to save as much money and pull it off as "playable" you're probably looking at replacing the fx6300 with an 8350 + hope you have a PCI-E slot for a USB 3.0 card.
If you have the expansion slot you can do this
https://www.amazon.co.uk/AMD-Black-Vishera-Clock-Turbo/dp/B009O7YUF6 - 75 Euros
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Inateck-Superspeed-Ports-PCI-Expansion/dp/B00B6ZCNGM/ - 20 Euros
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Zotac-NVIDIA-GeForce-GDDR5-Graphics/dp/B01IA9FEOO - 250 Euros.
I'd still recommend getting out of the AM3 CPUs and upgrading, but understand budget constraints suck!
Save the money? They're within 20 dollars if you get a 3570k
3570k
8350
And that's the K version, the normal version is even cheaper and still better.
Here's a list of the parts.

Total comes out to like 498 or 520$ after tax. If you plan to travel a lot etc... I would stick to a laptop though. Also it has a tiny HD as it's not exactly for someone who uses a whole lot of space.
Chances are the prices will have changed by whenever, but it gives an idea on budget ones.
So you have two choices.
You can buy an FX 8300 @ $114.99
And learn to overclock.
Or
Buy an FX 8350 @ $155.87
Your motherboard doesn't support something like the FX 9590, too much power.
Even with the the 4Ghz FX 8350, i highly recommend you overclock. These CPUs are 4 years old and they weren't lightning fast to begin with.
Good luck.
Your prices are a bit high. That 970 is $90 bnib http://www.amazon.com/MSI-970-GAMING-DDR3-Motherboard/dp/B00LUY72F6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1463468879&sr=8-3&keywords=motherboard+am3&refinements=p_72%3A2661618011 and that CPU is only $10 more for bnib http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009O7YUF6/ref=psdc_229189_t1_B009O7YU56 I realize you are including shipping but so does Amazon.
I have a heat issue. Build specs:
Idle temperatures were 44° C with the stock cooler so I replaced it with the T2. The case purchased didn't allow a T4 to fit in it - it was about half an inch too high.
With the T2 idle temperatures dropped to 26° C while the cores are running @ 1400 Mhz.
No overclocking has been left in place; it was accidentally enabled for a short period. However, when my son starts playing games he finds himself at 76° C and the thermal protection kicks in, locking the box up.
I made sure to remove the plastic on the bottom of the T2, where contact is made between the cooler pipes and the CPU. I made sure to evenly spread the thermal paste over the chip. I've ensured that the cooler is tightly clamped to the CPU.
Now this board has an "OC Genie" and he did activate it, however, I uninstalled the software overclocker (MSI Command Center) and turned off the OC Genie in the BIOS. I reset the power supply levels to default, as well as anything else I could find in the BIOS. (I don't do overclocking at this point in my life. If I want a 5% boost in speed, I pay for it.)
There are two fans on the case, one on the front and one on the back. The computer is currently in a corner area with little to no ventilation, so that's the next thing we're changing. However, I thought it might be useful to ask for advice from all of you.
Any advice on what I can do to help cool this thing? I know AMDs tend to run much hotter than Intels, but this seems ridiculous. In general I see acceptable ranges of 20° C to 60° C. Would you guys agree that's an acceptable range?
If necessary we can buy a new case and put the T4, or whatever recommended cooler is there, on the PC.
Thanks.
The M5A97 is an AMD AM3+ board, which is a completely different socket from AMD. You can either choose to change your mobo, and get the i7 (the i7 is a waste if you are only gaming, i5s are perfect for gaming on intel) OR pickup an FX-8350, so you save money by not buying a new board.
Get this instead: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B009O7YUF6/ref=psdc_430515031_t1_B00DGGW3MI
For cooling, this will be perfect: http://www.amazon.co.uk/quiet-BK018-Quiet-Dark-Cooler/dp/B00HPX7IKU/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1454094251&sr=1-2&keywords=bequiet+dark+rock
I`m saving up for this CPU for my computer I'm trying to slowly build up my computers power a bit and this is the next item to cross off my list.
I'm planning on recycling all my old parts so I can build a computer with my son and then give it to him for his birthday.
Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis When I was dead broke, man I couldn't picture this
8350 works pretty good for a good price.
http://www.amazon.com/AMD-FD8350FRHKBOX-FX-8350-FX-Series-Processor/dp/B009O7YUF6
Good to know! I might as well splurge a tiny bit more for an AMD 8350 at that price. We'll see.
You are asking $150 for a used and possibly damaged 8350 that goes for $170 brand new on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/AMD-FD8350FRHKBOX-FX-8350-8-Core-Black/dp/B009O7YUF6/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1415243836&sr=1-1&keywords=amd+fx+8350
You might want to consider going with the AMD FX-8350 instead. It'll save you about $70, and has a better Passmark score
THere's still 3 hours as of right now: AMD FX 8350 for $129.99
pretty solid price for this processer.
This?
Personally I'd stick with the case you have, because the case is nothing more than a shell that houses the components that make your PC a gaming PC :) If you want to browse for more cases, check here for some Mid-Tower cases (just make sure you read reviews because cases vary in quality):
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007583%20600006302&IsNodeId=1&name=ATX%20Mid%20Tower&cm_sp=CompCase9_-VisNav-_-ATXMidTower
As for removing the OS and the DVD drive, you end up having to add all the parts to the shopping cart of whatever site you plan to buy on. So if you're buying everything on Amazon, just add each part to Amazon. Just don't add the DVD drive of the OS when you add them to your cart.
The video card I chose follows your price-point, and will run most games at and around high quality. If you want to run all games at high and ultra I would recommend a GTX 770, but that is a $330+ card, so if you are willing to spend a little extra money, go ahead and buy that one instead.
Edit: This is the processor that I had previously added:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009O7YUF6/?tag=pcpapi-20
spain, huh?? amazon.es will be your best bet, trust me (I'm also from spain, and the best prices I've seen here are amazon's)
Also, that build is good, very good for a mid-term gaming PC, as long as you are sure you want to stick with intel. I mean, you have pretty good AMD CPU's out there, better than that intel and for less money, say, THIS is one of the best (affordable) CPU's out there... and is cheaper than the intel. sure there are better CPU's but cost at least twice!! (I'm thinking of unlocked i7's, which are the only that can offer 8 threads... ) 4 threads are good for right now, but may be not enough in a FEW years (I'm used to plan ahead and make my rigs useful for at least 4 years... last one lasted like 7 years with minor (GPU) upgrades.)
GPU-wise, the 270X is only like 10€ more, and could be worth it. just take a look at videocardbenchmark.net and compare the performance of both of them. (note: they also have CPU data, so take a look at it!! )
also, you need to think about the HDD. you'll want a big and fast one, probably a 2Tb WD caviar blue would be good enough (I'm using the caviar green and while EVERYBODY will tell you is slow as hell, since it's not even a 7200rpm drive... it works good enough for me). I don't recommend reusing an old HDD, for two reasons:
one, HDD's life is "limited", I wouldn't trust a drive for more tan, say, a few years (5 or so). I myself use them for way longer, but my old seagates are in a raid 1 (mirror). else I wouldn't be trusting them, and they would be gathering dust.
and two, HDD's are cheap enough... and for a gaming PC you'll wat a big one (at least 1 Tb, trust me, it seems much but it will get filled sooner than you think) WD caviar blue 1 Tb even a raid 0 of those would be good (note I can't find the 2 Tb caviar blue right now, not sure why.... a green could do, or else, a raid 0 of blues would be even faster.) Also, a system SSD would be nice, but not essential.
I may be wrong, but for that price the GPU doesn't look right. You may want to go for a cheaper motherboard, and definitely cheaper RAM. Heck, if you're just gaming, I'd go with 8gb of RAM.
Here's your CPU for $30 less:

Would you recommend this one?
Or more so what would you recommend?
so it would be unable to support http://www.amazon.com/AMD-FD8350FRHKBOX-FX-8350-8-Core-Processor/dp/B009O7YUF6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1462229826&sr=8-1&keywords=AMD+FX-8350+Black+Edition+Vishera+8-Core+4.0+GHz+%284.2+GHz+Turbo%29+Socket+AM3%2B+125W+FD8350FRHKBOX+Desktop+Processor+Series%3A+FX-Series?

p.p.s. just gonna leave this link for cpu here: http://www.amazon.in/AMD-FD8350FRHKBOX-FX-8350-Processor/dp/B009O7YUF6
you know so far its been great i guess, the improvement on arma 3 is through the roof but the improvement in fps in planetside isnt as high as i thought it might be, but i did some research and i feel that fps issues are just something that will forever plague a game with a possible 400 man battle going on, even with an intel cpu, i doubt theyre doing much better than 25-30 fps in huge battles. my new cpu has gotten down to 20 and below in massive battles but mostly its doing great and hitting my gpu (radeon 7770) alot at about 50-60. looking back i dont regret it, because i did it myself, and it was rather simple to swap just the cpu, where as a whole motherboard would be quite extensive i imagine and would probably need some help, and hopefully it would all be compatible. i doubled my score on 3dmark 11 to 6352 for cpu score, now i feel i need to upgrade my gpu :p,
also the 8350 just dropped 15 bucks to $179
BTW I was going to use this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009O7YUF6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
You should go for an intel core i5 6xxx or wait for amd zen, also that cpu at that price is a scam, Amazon has it for 149$ https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B009O7YUF6/ref=olp_f_new?ie=UTF8&f_new=true

It just says “stock fan”, so I’m not sure if it’s just an AMD heatsink or what. Sorry, I’m new to computer parts.
You can YouTube how to upgrade a pre-built one enough to play games at 60FPS a Medium graphics for fairly cheap. Maybe 500-600 dollars for everything (which isn't bad considering consoles sell for that at launch)
I am in the process of upgrading my Lenovo H50 (AMD) enough to play Siege at a decent pace. I bought my PC about 2 years ago so I already had the computer and just bought a new Motherboard and Processor for about $300 for both of those with 1 day shipping on each of them (I'm impatient) lol but really that isn't all too bad considering the set-up could last me the next 5-7 years and just would upgrade the processor again for another 200 and that's another 5-10 years. Look, just spend some time on YouTube, eBay, and Amazon and check out what you want to get from it and see what you can get done. You'd be amazed really. Good luck, bro.
I would of course recommend the FX-8350. It has 8 cores and with a very good cooling solution it can go up to 5.0 ghz. Its $155, need a cheaper replacement let me know. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009O7YUF6/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B009O7YUF6&linkCode=as2&tag=quan9883-20&linkId=8328ec1de36d5d3ac111906edefd94a6

This octo core processor is on sale. Just curious. Would that last me longer? Would I be held back by my video card. Would I need to upgrade mobo and PSU to even get it to work? Trying to understand all this. Appreciate it.

Okay so CPU's are the things I have trouble with, but that looks pretty cool. What are the benefits of this over an i7?
Also I like the price.
I wouldn't recommend selling it, as no one would pay more than €500 if they knew what they were doing. If you can't return it, your best option is to upgrade the CPU, then RAM.
This is the best CPU you can get for your PC, but even getting this would be a big upgrade. Maybe getting another 8gb of RAM on the future would be good too, but just getting a better cpu will make a difference.
The price on Amazon is now $149.00

The FX 6300 is an AM3+ socket chip, not FM. Boo AMDs naming.
I'd definitely recommend waiting for Ryzen, AMDs new CPU architecture to come out, they should have some really interestingly valued options.
However, I'd you're wanting to stay on AM3+, probably the best CPU for AM3+ is the 8370, an 8-core 4GHz CPU for $184, but if you want to budget a little you could go for the 8350 for $30 cheaper. which is essentially the same chip but more refined.
I'd you're a madman you could go with the 220w TDP 4.7-5GHz FX 9590 for $200, but that's... Don't do that.
Would you declare this graphics card to be better than: Sapphire Radeon RX 480 8GB NITRO+ Video Card?
Regarding the keyboard, as stated, would like one of better quality and no mouse. Thanks for the ssd/hdd suggestions.

Hey guys, I just want to know what would be the best processor for ksp after the unity 5 upgrade. I am not sure about the limitations of unity 5 engines, but now that ksp will support multiple cores after the upgrade, doe more cores mean more performance.
Here are 3 examples for comparison from amazon.
Intel processors such as anything in the i7 line aren't compatible with the socket/motherboard used by AMD chips.
That being said you could upgrade to another AMD chip that uses the AM3+ socket. The FX8350 might be a good place to start.
There's many AMD options! This one is great and only $19 out of your range.
can I use this cooler on an AMD Fx-8350? I am using the stock cooler for now, but it is too loud and I have the effizio lying around. I used it for another AMD processor.
dont get an msi a55-p33 fm1 mobo... you cant controll the fan speeds

A friend gave me this processor because he had no use for it:
https://www.amazon.com/AMD-FD8350FRHKBOX-FX-8350-8-Core-Processor/dp/B009O7YUF6
Any thoughts on it? I'm looking to make a gaming build with a budget of around $800. Is this processor worth putting into a computer? Because I'm hearing mixed reviews online.
Searching for your CPU it is telling me that there is a new model. The new model also seems cheaper so I'm wondering if it would be a better purchase. Here's the link - http://www.amazon.co.uk/FX8350-Edition-Processor-4-2GHz-Socket/dp/B009O7YUF6/ref=dp_ob_title_ce and thanks for your help
Another thing you should probably post is your motherboard model, as that can determine what you can do with the CPU upgrade.
I use a CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO for my FX-6300, which works really well. You might want to consider upgrading to the FX-8350 if your motherboard can handle it. You'll also want to get some good thermal paste for your CPU/Heatsink, here's what I use.
I don't know enough about laptops to suggest one, I've been looking for a good midrange laptop I can use at school as well but doesn't exceed about £400 (~725 Canadian Dollars).
AMD's FX 8350. http://www.amazon.com/AMD-FX8350-Edition-Processor-4-2GHz/dp/B009O7YUF6
I've been eying this AMD FX-8350 FX Octa-core processor for a while now. Would that be a better investment against the i5-3570k purely from a performance standpoint?
Would this be adequate for an AMD FX-8350 with some overclocking down the line? I don't mind the noise levelsEdit: I'm an idiot
Sorry about the lack of info, haha. I just assumed you would be able to read my mind!
Erm, I'd love it if I could spend £200 but if say spending £300-350 will make a massive difference (which I assume it will), I don't mind doing that.
I enjoy all games really, I'll be most happy if it can run Total War games decently enough and PUBG because I've just bought that and it's emotional having a low FPS in gun fights.
I've been looking myself and just kind of going off what I've seen popping up most because I'm not gonna lie, the actual technical jargon is like Egyptian hieroglyphics to me :-)

Other than that everything is fine, try not to get bottle necked by your CPU.
From what I heard the only difference between the two is the frequency, so apart from that they are basically the same chip and their turbo frequencies differ only by 200mhz.
Also 8350 is for $140 at amazon right now.
And lastly probably have a look at 8370e for $136 and it's supposed to drop another $4 in price one last time.

Total: $430 - A lot of these products are on sale right now so it could be more or less come buying the parts.
Like I said this is a build on the higher price point but it will work well for you for another 7-10 years.
I am looking at CPU and GPU upgrades.
I currently play and stream (to Twitch mainly) strategy/simulation games (Cities:Skylines, Civ, occasionally CS:GO) (Not making any cash to pay for upgrades yet tho)
I currently have:
AMD Phenom II X4 Black Edition @3.2
ASUS M5A78L-USB 3 (AM3+) Mobo
12GB RAM (two pairs)
MSI 750Ti 2GB
XSplit reports CPU maxing out and frames dropping, but the Graphics struggle to handle games like cities anyway and even on mod-less play occasionally hangs.
Trying to fiddle the payday numbers and I might be able to afford:
AMD FX8350 Black Edition at 4Ghz (https://www.amazon.co.uk/AMD-Black-Vishera-Clock-Turbo-x/dp/B009O7YUF6/ )
(Keep Mobo & RAM)
ASUS GeForce DUAL-GTX1060--O6G 6 GB Graphics Card ( https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01IPFN7UQ )
Question is, looking at tables like Tom' hardware Hierarchy, it is a big jump to the next step in the hierarchy... Am I just deluded at updating old hardware to old hardware?
Also, would swapping both out at the same time trigger Windows 10's 'You must buy a new licence' process from the free upgrades?
EDIT: removed errant letter in one link
It's difficult to justify because currently you can get a 2600 for $160 and it's miles ahead.
Add to that, it's not actually 8 cores (it's 4 core), an ungodly power consumption, additional cooling necessary it's just not great. The only difference between 9590 and 8350 is clock speed and voltage, which is a clear indication all they did was take binned chips and overclock the ever living crap out of them. Same architecture, same everything.
If you want something temporary, 8350 is decently cheaper. It's $78 on Amazon.
You don't have to tell me twice.
Is this one shit?:https://www.amazon.com/AMD-FD8350FRHKBOX-FX-8350-8-Core-Processor/dp/B009O7YUF6/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1497650829&sr=1-1&keywords=amd+fx+8350
The FX series wasn't AMD's best showing, notoriously power-hungry/hot and just lackluster performance (compared to it's competetor at the time) overall. If you really don't have the money to upgrade to the new platform (Ryzen/DDR4 RAM), you may consider trying to find a higher-rated FX chip to get a performance boost while being budget-conscious, like the FX-8350

For Canadians. Thanks, Amazon.
I'm looking to put together an inexpensive build using some components I already have. I was looking at the AMD FX-8350 with this ASUS motherboard. I'll be using 8 GB of DDR3 ram I already have, as well as a GTX 750ti, with an eye towards upgrading that to something like an RX 470 in the fall. I'll mostly be using this PC for gaming (Overwatch and GTAV) and video editing. Is there a better motherboard/CPU combo for around $200?
I forgot to say this in the post, but is it worth it to upgrade my cpu to this:
https://www.amazon.com/AMD-FD8350FRHKBOX-FX-8350-8-Core-Processor/dp/B009O7YUF6
Its twice the price but its on a sale from $230 to 120, thanks
Hey guys, I have tried for the last week to do everything I can to get temps under control, to no avail.
Important parts:
I have tried using my cpu rad as an intake, and saw substantial spikes in all other temps, and was actually triggering my pc to shut off because of 120*c and higher motherboard temps. I have two 140s coming in, and two 120s going out, all running 100% speed.
Why are the BIOS updates unreliable? They may not be available immediately, but perhaps now is not the time for you to upgrade that machine. 2-3 years from now, when these are 'last-gen/old socket' chips, you might be able to extend the lifecycle of your investment in RAM, mobo, PSU, case, etc for a couple of years.
Ryzen 3xxx should work fine on most non A series boards. Within the same TDP, the 3600 offers 30% more single core perf, and 3700x has 30% single + 67% multi. A 3950x will be better still, obviously. When a 3950x eventually drops to $150, it might be a seriously way of delaying a new build.
edit: added 3700X, 3950X etc.

Well, $150 doesn't really lend itself well into getting you very far.
You could go the AMD route, and get yourself a FX-8350 for, well exactly $150. It's on sale right now, so that price might not last.
If you want to go the Intel route, things become a little more complicated. I'd recommend personally getting a Skylake CPU, as that allows you a great deal of upgradeability down the road. But, at $150 you can't really afford a Skylake i5, short of the i5-6400T, which while viable, I guess, isn't something I'd recommend. You'd want to enter Skylake in around atleast the 6500 or 6600k area.
The choice is yours, AMD is certainly a viable solution, and will continue to be. But going Intel will require you put down some more money. You'd also have to get DDR4 RAM, which honestly, these days isn't that expensive anymore.
EDIT: There is also the i3 route, which is once again, a viable solution. But for the purpose of gaming, and such I would recommend an i5.
You are not getting good value for your money, like at all... GTX 960 and AMD 7970 are going for C$200 on ebay from reputable sellers including shipping, a dual core 6100 is not going to cut it current games (its really just a single core, since your OS will be eating 25% of a core for background tasks). You would be better off trying to get a used 2500k ( they are going for ~C$150 ) with a Z68 or an x7x series that supports overclocking with a K-series processor.
Buying used when you are on a budget is the way to go, since a lot of people upgrading to the latest and greatest are willing to part with their used hardware on the cheap. As an example, I will be selling my 2nd rig: 8350, Asus m5a99x evo r2.0 and 8GB of RAM for ~$195 (2/3rds of the store price) once the NVIDIA (1070+1080 ) and AMD (Polaris) paper launches are over.
If you want to learn how to buy used, I can recommend a few channels: Oafah, Tech YES City and Linus Tech Tips Scrapyard Wars series
>The most demanding games are not dual threaded, so that point is mute.
The amount of "most demanding games out there" can pretty much be counted on two hands. And those most demanding games can only use up to 5-6 threads as the others are required for OS and background processes. The rest of the "slightly lesser" demanding games out there are either single/dual threaded, or at maximum quad threaded. Most applications out there aren't highly threaded and require much better per core performance as they only have 1-3 threads to honestly operate on.
Its not a moot point at all. And its funny because even in those multi-threaded applications/games, the 4c/4thread i5-3570k STILL beats out a 8c/8THREAD FX-8350.
>And the 3570 is stll a good bit more
No. Not at ALL.
FX-8350 Stock Speed: 4.0Ghz.
i5-3570k. Stock Speed: 3.4Ghz.
To achieve a 1Ghz overclock over stock on a FX-8350 is going to require a damn good chip and quite a good cooler for how hot it runs.
To achieve a 1Ghz overclock over stock on a FX-8350 is going to require pretty much any damn chip out there (barring really shitty ones) and a $30 Hyper 212 Evo (Hell, even the $20 Xigmatek Gaia is capable too).
And in terms of motherboards, the average 990FX board (since the 970-UD3 was destroyed with shitty mosfets in a revision) is around $120, and so are Intel boards. So price-wise, the Intel option is CHEAPER than AMD.
So ask yourself. Why would you go with a CPU that is subpar in 95% of the situations, and good in 5% of situations. When you can get a CPU that is good in 95% of situations, and barely any subpar in 5%? Its a damn no-brainer.
Would this be a good deal/idea or a bad one?
Hey man, I upgraded from the 4100 about a week ago, I upgraded to a fx-8350 as I was short on cash and didn't have enough to change my board.
So far I have had incredible frame rates changes and haven't even overclocked, this may not be the best CPU out there but damn it sure beats the FX-4100.
The FX-8350 with my 2GB HD7850, 4GB ram and just a HDD give me around 40-60 in multiplayer on very high settings which for me is more than I could ever ask for.
Hope this helps, let me know if you want details :)

Also how do I write over the link like what u did with the GPU spec
Motherboard
Graphics card
RAM
Processor
And my SSD that I have DayZ installed on.
Note that both my Graphics card and my Processor are overclocked, but they never reach temperatures past 60 deg C while gaming.
Not really unfortunately. You didn't specify what 7700 you have, that's a series not a model. If it is the 7750 then the new card will use double the power.
The biggest problem is that your PSU is not a good one, and could fail, destroying your system. It also likely doesn't have enough power to run the 1070 at all.
You second problem, is that your CPU is going to be a huge bottleneck. I'm not sure exactly how much, but it will be quite severe.
My suggestion to you, would be to instead get a 1060 3GB or RX 480 and use some of that money to get a decent PSU that has at least an 80+ Bronze certificate. this one would be significantly better than your current one
You could also consider upgrading your CPU, but this will be fairly costly. this cpu would be considerably better than your current one. amazon link
TL:DR You could get that processor and PSU, along with the RX 480 for about the same price as a 1070. This would get you solid 1080P gaming without your PSU exploding.
Probably not the answer you were hoping for, sorry.
Edit: link to PCMR article warning about the FX series processors and how underpowered they are He has the same CPU I suggested, and even that is bottlenecking the GTX 1080 (and may likely bottleneck something like a RX 480)
I have a gtx 960 and an AMD Athlon II X4 630.
There's a lot of bottlenecking going on.
I was looking at the (AMD FX-8350)[AMD FD8350FRHKBOX FX-8350 FX-Series 8-Core Black Edition Processor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009O7YUF6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_P7T5xbGKEHD4C]

Thanks!
The cheapest haswell-e cpu is looking to be over twice the price of AMD's highest end 'mainstream' chip, the fx 8350.

I would suggest getting a better CPU. That i3 is really gonna bottleneck your system. I suggest getting at least an i5.
I am a fan of the AMD FX processors because they are cheaper, like this one. That one is not only cheaper than your current one, but it's also faster. However, make sure to get an AMD processor with 8 cores. Anything below 8 isn't really that good imo. I do think Intel is more favorited however.
A 1060 is a great card to use. Not top of the line, but still really kicks ass.
However, I suggest getting a powersupply that is at least 700w. That 450w is pretty low, and you really don't want your power supply to go. $85 for a 450w power supply seems kind of high, not sure if I'm missing something. 80 bucks is about the price a 700w would be.
