That's a decent power supply.

What case do you have at the moment?

For £45 the Antec One is a FANTASTIC case, that has amazing build quality for the price. It's good good cable management, tool-less drive bays, a painted interior -- everything you want from a case really. I can personally vouch for it having owned one myself.

Here's how to use 'Upgrade' media to perform a clean install:

You could stick with a cheaper SSD or forego one altogether to keep within your original budget. Also, I've not used my DVD drive in over two years, so that probably says something about needing one or not.

The antec 300 was and still is a good case. However it is kind of old now and is lacking the cable management options that newer cases have.

The antec one is pretty much an updated version of the antec 300 wih plenty of space to put cables behind the motherboard tray. It's only $5 more on amazon.

Title: [BG] [H] PayPal [W] 3.5" HDD Rail for Antec One Case
Username: /u/WhereisKevinn
Original Post:
Hello HardwareSwapUK,

I want to buy:

  • one 3.5" hard drive rail for the Antec One Case; I have the case, but cannot mount another hard drive until I have the rail to do so. This case features "tool-less" installation, the rail mounts enable a slide to install function.

  • Seeking just one rail, but will consider purchasing two additional rails if you have them for sale.

  • Link to the case for your reference/confirmation of compatability: Office Site, Amazon: US/UK.

  • Image of the HDD rail mount.

These rails seem impossible to find online (much to my dismay)... seems silly to have to post here for something so minor, but I'm hopeful that someone has extras out there.

Do you not think I'd need a more powerful PSU? Something more like 600watts+? I've read repeatedly that the PSU is the most important part of your system and I wouldn't mind paying extra to ensure I have enough.

Thanks for taking the time to put this together by the way, the build you've recommended (plus my other parts) looks like this:

But I don't know if this is overkill or not? I'm not sure how much wattage on a PSU I'd actually need as many sites say use a calculator and then add 100-150watts so you have some breathing room. Do you think this'll make a viable gaming (high settings)/video editing PC?

Once again, thanks for all your help, and sorry for how obviously difficult this is for me, I've spent a lot of time doing research but it really seems like most of this stuff just flies over my head...
