AOC G2590FX 1080p, TN panel, FreeSync but compatible with G-Sync

I've been using this for a solid 8 months now, it's quite nice.

What I find interesting is that they either didn't apply that shady move in France, not yet at least.

Guess when AMD told Freesync was free, nvidia took it too literally.

Check out the AOC C24G1. Frameless, 144hz, freesync, and a great price. Or the AOC G2590FX.

u/RedZaturn · 7 pointsr/FortNiteBR

Sure you can get an ultrawide low refresh rate high response and input lag monitor, but that isn't good enough to game on.

10 times out of 10 I would rater game on this 16:9 freesync/gsync 144hz 1ms response time monitor than this 60hz 21:9 5ms response time monitor.

I guarantee the OP at least has a monitor with a high refresh rate, and those cost double what a fully featured 1920 x 1080 gaming monitor costs.

u/TheGrizzlyIdiot · 5 pointsr/pcmasterrace

I got 2 144hz 1ms refresh 1080p monitors for $440

Edit: they’re even on sale now. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D377Q6D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_kWD2Cb7KACF01

Has some excellent reviews on the Best Buy USA site (for reference: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/reviews/hp-25x-24-5-led-fhd-monitor-gray-green/6280605).

Seems like a good buy to me but of course I haven't used it so would be nice if others could chime in more. There's the AOC G2590FX that's also currently on sale on Amazon/Canada Computers for $239.99 (https://www.amazon.ca/AOC-G2590FX-24-5-Screen-14700510/dp/B07D377Q6D?th=1).

This ends up being a little over $30 cheaper but not sure if the AOC monitor is worth the $30 price difference.

u/monstergeek · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

I went with this deal instead . From what I research, 27" on 1080P seemed to be to big, I heard 1440P is almost a must for a 27" monitor . Please post this deal on the Sub as well if not yet .

AOC G2590FX 25" Framless Gaming... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D377Q6D?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

It’s a good balance been FPS and resolution and is G-sync compatible. Idk about other monitors but I have a PC and a PS4 hooked up and it automatically turns on and changes display channels depending on which I turn on. If I turn on my PS4, The monitor turns on and goes go HDMI. If I turn on my Computer, it’ll turn on then go to display port. I’m new to PC gaming so perhaps all monitors do that?

No built in speakers so you’ll need to buy head set.

u/xXswaerXx · 2 pointsr/buildapc

the panel type is va, so you might experience ghosting. I would go for a tn or ips pannel. tn is faster cheaper but the colors arent as good (though they are fine) the ips pannels are more expensive, and its hard to get high refresh rate and low response time. I would recomend the aoc G2590FX because its around the same price and it supports freesync, as well as g-sync.

What are bezels

Agreed, it's of course just different tastes - I'd be looking for a setup I can have games on one monitor and internet or video on another

u/ICA_Agent47 · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

As far as I can tell based on specs its the same panel used in the AOC G2590FX, so at this price I'd say it's definitely worth it.

u/PalebloodSky · 2 pointsr/nvidia

Depends on your price range. $400-600 range gets you an incredible gaming monitor. Here are a couple 1080p, 144Hz, G-Sync supported that look decent for $200:

whilst nvidia now supports free sync it’s on a very few selected monitors. None o which you’ve picked. If you are looking for a free sync monitor compatible with Nvidia as you don’t want to pay premium for gsync then I’d recommend

Just got this monitor, it is a TN panel but it's been working great for me.

u/ntbcwr · 1 pointr/buildapc

What do you think about a AOC G2590FX for the monitor?

u/urmom8mydog · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

One question!

I see this other AOC monitor in a similar price range: https://www.amazon.com/AOC-G2590FX-Compatible-AdaptiveSync-DisplayPort/dp/B07D377Q6D?psc=1&SubscriptionId=AKIAJ76EIXAV3V6D6JEQ&tag=globalnetwork-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B07D377Q6D

It appears to have similar specs to the one you suggested for me. 25" screen, 1920x1080, 144hz, etc. What's the difference between the two that I may not be seeing? Other than cosmetic of course; I do like the look of this one more than the other.

Thanks again!

u/luctadeusz · 1 pointr/buildapc

I just purchased an RTX 2060, and am looking to replace my monitor to get a bit more out of it. I'm (ideally) hoping to find a 1080p monitor, 144hz refresh rate, g-sync/g-sync compatible, between 21" and 25" (ish), and with thin bezels, at or under $200.

This is currently my benchmark. That monitor is everything I'm looking for, I'm just a little hesitant to buy it due to a lot of the reviews saying that the color calibration is garbage. I am willing to sacrifice the frameless design for a better quality picture, but if I don't have to do that I would be a very happy camper. Any pointers/recommendations would be appreciated!

u/NightKev · 1 pointr/PUBATTLEGROUNDS

Since you linked 24" 1080p monitors I'll assume that's what you want. In that case, this TN panel monitor is the one you want for adaptive sync/freesync (and it's cheaper than the non-freesync monitor you linked, even). If you want a VA panel instead of TN for better color (and are willing to sacrifice response times) this one is also an option.

Note that Nvidia GPUs from the 10 series and later now support freesync, so there's no reason to pay the ~$200 gsync module "tax" anymore.

Also, if your PC is good enough to get more than 144 fps you'll want to get RTSS (optionally with MSI Afterburner) and limit the framerate to 135-140 in order to keep freesync active (adaptive sync currently doesn't work if your FPS goes above your monitor's refresh rate).

Edit: Oops, fixed the links.

u/MrDinosaur666 · 1 pointr/buildapc

AOC G2590FX. It's $199.99 (on Amazon,) has a 1080P resolution, 144hz, 1ms response time, and comes with GSync. Link

u/clockdaddy · 1 pointr/peripherals

This is exactly what you're looking for. It was one of the original 12 to be gsync certified. I have one, and it's amazing. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D377Q6D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_4jxXCbAQT7A8F

E: I now realize that's what you posted. I'm a dumbass. But this is a good monitor.

u/lazypeon19 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Pay 20 more and you can get an AOC G2590FX which has FreeSync and is G-Sync compatible.

u/EnchiladaTiddies · 1 pointr/Warframe

It's not perfect but it's a happy medium between your two options. If you ever want to upgrade your monitor, I recommend taking a look at this one.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D377Q6D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_krfUDb9VAJ2W2

It's certified vsync compatible, 144hz, and it frequently goes on sale for under $180. I have it and it's been amazing, especially for the price.

u/apmauj · 1 pointr/uruguay

u/kidflashxve · 1 pointr/buildapc

Apparently it does I checked the Q and As and someone asked if it works with G-Sync and they said it does soooooo

Although there’s a different AOC that has the same specs but is advertised to work with gsync although it’s like $50 more

u/sammyjay_18 · 1 pointr/buildmeapc

Assuming you’re gaming, you should be fine with any 1080p monitor at 144hz

Not sure what your budget is but this is the cheapest I could find. Surprised it’s AOC since they usually make premium products imo.

u/Mimtos · 1 pointr/buildapc

This was on sale recently for $300. It's basically not what you asked for except the price range but its a really damn good deal for a quality 144hz 27 inch 1440p monitor. So do check it out! For what you'are actually looking for, this is one of the better budget 144hz monitors out there. Since your range seems large, I'd recommend you not do a budget monitor and get this. This would probably be the most expensive monitor you could get that fits your choice. But overall I gave you a suggestion choice, low end, mid end,and high end. As long as you're not getting a VA panel, you'll never experience ghosting.

u/adam336 · 1 pointr/Monitors

I am aware that adaptive sync and G-sync are essentially the same. Its not that I even have a preference of one or the other ...

To my knowledge, the caveat is that if you use an Nvidia GPU (like a RTX 2060) and buy a free-sync monitor (which are the better deal displays) then regarding adaptive frame rate its not compatible.

Thats not counting the 12 displays that nvidia said would be compatible with both after the new driver update. One of which is this

Or should I just say screw variable frame rates and get a free-sync, non g-sync compatible curved monitor of the same price ?

u/Shadowyuri · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Really liking your rec. of the G2460PF. Only thing that worries me is that its not on the compatible list for Nvidia supported Freesync. Currently looking into the AOC G2590FX since its on the supported list. You have been extremely helpful. Thank you a ton!

Edit.: This one is also on the list, but not sure if its worth it to go 1440p 144hz. My gpu cant support this AOC Agon AG241QX

not sure what on the cheap side is for you but take a look at this monitor. its a tn (but on a budget your not getting ips) . its free sync but one of the nvidia certified monitors so its going to be one of the better free sync implementations (not all are done well). and its sub 200

Are you in the US? This one has good reviews for $200 and has Freesync (G-Sync compatible). This Sceptre monitor also has good reviews for $180, is 144Hz, and is even curved, but some customers have said that they come with a few dead pixels. Amazon's return policy is pretty good, so you might want to try your luck. Here are a few others that you might also want to consider: Dell D2719HGF,Asus VG278Q, AOC G2590FX, and Acer ED273.

EDIT: These are all 1080p.
