Given you already have some mathematical experience, I would strongly recommend Applied Linear Statistical Models from Kutner and friends. I have purchased a number of textbooks for my own personal reading, but still nothing trumps this one. I refer back to it on a weekly basis.

Also, I have made some videos that you can find here that aim to explain statistical concepts that sometimes aren't explained well in classes.
