after the initial purchase you only need to buy razors every so often (75 days for daily shavers, 1 year for me) for $2 and cream about once a year ($10)

been using a safety razor for many years. It really depends on how your hair grows (corse or fine) and what blades you end up getting. Some are by FAR alot shaper then others. A few good brands of blades are Feather, Astra Superior Premium, and Derby Extra.

I'd probably start with the Derby and go from there. Feather is probably the sharpest of the ones I listed.
