Never used Clubman, can't offer any insight on that. If you want to try an alum block, just search for "Alum Block" on Amazon. They're all the same. Works great for me as a post-shave. Just wet your face and the bar, rub the bar across your face and neck. Let it sit for about 2 mins, then splash off with cold water.
I follow up with this zinc lotion. Just a warning, this stuff is super thick and goes on white, so you need to really rub it in. It's like sunblock, basically, but it moisturizes and does a very noticeable job reducing redness, bumps, irritation and even seems to heal acne faster. My wife and I both use it and it's the best stuff I've ever found.
I shave at night, not in the morning. It saves me 20 mins in the morning and also allows any irritation some extra time overnight to heal. Also, by the morning, any whiteness from the zinc cream has faded away, so I wake up fresh faced!
