I think you are being impatient. The visions and other cool stuff like auric sight may come eventually. Just let this stuff unfold. It may be sooner than later, but who knows. We are all different, there are too many factors at play here. I really don't think the throat has much to do with it, but I'm no expert. All I know is that the throat and third eye may be linked, but I had many experiences way before the throat ever came in to play. What about the crown area? any sensation there? I had those too before the throat.

Keep up the meditation, keep up the awareness of the third eye area. For me, eventually I felt the throat have a similar energetic sensation like the third eye. When the two are both energized they seem to have a strong energetic effect when they are both meditated on. But that all comes later. Also, one time in a deep trance attempting to have an astral projection; I drew up energy and in to the throat area: suddenly my whole face was sort of vibrating (similar to a mild vibration that occurs during an astral projection) and my eyes started twitching. So there is definitely a connection between them but let them unfold on their own.
