We have five kids, so things here have lasted at least that long:

Baby Bjourn Babysitter which goes by a new name now.
NoseFrida Snotsucker is the grossest name, but very handy and BIFL
Bumbo floor seat is a plastic seat kids sit on, on the floor
Boppy is a big U-shaped pillow for floor sitting or nursing
Wood stacking toys - either Ikea or Melissa & Doug
Saddleback leather/Love41 bucket bag for a diaper bag

We use this Baby Bjorn bouncer and the accompanying toy bar. It is pricey but we're using on our second child now and it still looks new.

I had something similar happen to me during the first few months although I didn't remember putting the baby back in his bassinet. I woke up after feeding him, searching for him and had no idea how he got there. Our son had similar problems with cough and congestion around that age and we put him in a bouncer in his crib. It worked pretty well, he was propped up enough to help with the congestion and he did not have any problems spitting up. We used it several times whenever he got sick and for the sleep it saved us it was worth every penny. I know you are breastfeeding (and so were we, but not exclusively) but when he would get really bad like that and had trouble swallowing our ped. would recommend "thinning" his milk with pedialyte, only temporarily of course. That helped some. I have also heard of people irrigating the baby's nose with breastmilk to get antibodies in there. I never did it, didn't have enough milk to spare!

This also sounds gross, but we have used a NoseFrida to suck mucous and phlegm out of the back of my son's throat when he was basically choking on it. It sounds like the suction at the dentist.

Could be colic?

This may or may not help but read the reviews: I bought one of these used, we don't use it to put her to sleep, but it's so easy to bounce with her with just your foot and she seems very content in it https://www.amazon.com/BABYBJORN-Bouncer-Balance-Soft-Cotton/dp/B00BQYVOKY?th=1

It is one product that seemed to make the first couple months a little easier for us
