It's pretty good if you take a telescope with you. Here's a composite with my phone and (shitty) telescope I took at the eclipse in April: http://i.imgur.com/SXak1LG.jpg
Relative newb here (I do know which end of the camera to look through when taking a photo, but anything beyond that and I start babbling and crying.)
I'm planning to get some hopefully epic pictures of the upcoming total solar eclipse in August. I have a Sony DSC-H5 digital camera with a non-removable (but threaded for a filter) 58mm lens, and I have a Barska Starwatcher 400 x 70 mm spotting telescope (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BY2DJQ/ref=em_si_text). I also have a tripod and solar filter for the camera and the telescope.
My question is, without using duct tape, baling wire or chewing gum, what do I need to acquire to attach this camera to the telescope? The camera already has a 16x optical zoom, but I would like to zoom in even further, and a telescope would help make that happen. I've Googled the hell out of this question but get overwhelmed by talk of I filters, A frames, T-mount adapters and a bit or piece that corresponds with virtually every letter in the alphabet. Can you help a brother out?
