8 oz mineral oil, which is half a bottle of the cheap stuff from Walgreens, heated in a 1 pint mason jar. Add 2 one oz sticks of beeswax (Amazon sells in 6 oz packs). Heat and stir periodically. When it's all combined, remove from heat and let cool.

Makes a good paste that makes all your wood cooking utensils and boards look fantastic.

Edit:

Mineral oil 16 oz, $7

Beeswax 6oz, $7

Thanks for that tip. Would this work or do you recommend pellets? I like the idea of making my own using beeswax and inexpensive pharmacy mineral oil instead of paying a lot for Boos or Howard goop. I have a big butcher block and cutting board that like to be fed often.

I go to a health food store and it's in the aisle with all the lotion making stuff. Amazon or a hobby store might also be a good choice and maybe even a grocery store. You only need a tiny amount like an 1/8th the size of a pea. Heres an Amazon link of some: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LWX2IO1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_oLHhDbTB2PBBG
