I use this lamp and love it. The bottom part even comes off so you can use it for pedicures!
I use this top and base coat and I use this brand of gel polishes normally, too. Mostly because they have a huge variety of colors and you can buy them in sets of 9 or more. This top coat does require a wipe off. I use plain old rubbing alcohol. I don't mind the wipe off ones at all.
As for tips, make sure you wipe off any polish you get on your skin before curing it. Otherwise, it's really difficult to remove and you also run a risk of the gel mani lifting easily. Run a cotton ball of alcohol or acetone over your nails and let dry before you put down your base coat. If you still have lotion on your nails, your mani will probably peel right up after a day or so. Last, you will probably have to do at least 2 coats of color (cure in between each coat) to get your desired finish.
