This is a strange question but I'll ask anyways.

I recently watched sasami-san@ganbaranai and I noticed that Yagami Tsurugi's headphone was drawn with great detail. I wondered if it was an actual model and sure enough it was. In the anime, she uses this $900 headphones to play eroge in front of other teachers at the school and tells the other teachers to get lost if they say anything about her hobby.

So the question is, would there be any benefit to using such a ridiculously high price/quality headphones for playing VNs? I would personally never even spend a fifth of that on headphones, but I's just curious as to if there is an actual tangible benefit to using such headphones or if this is just a joke/product placement.

I know exactly what I'll do, and I think about it often.

Long hard day at work, I'll come home and flip on my tube amp and let it warm up for 10 minutes. While I'm waiting I'll crack open the rest of my half eaten pomegranate and flip through my Cigar catalog and decide to buy a box of 25 Arturo Fuente cigars and realize that I need to check my humidor. I'll take out a Rocky Patel 1992 and smell it. It smells good. I'll sit down an put on my Tesla T1 heaphones and flip on my Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab copy of Fragile by YES and I'll smile and think about the times that I had to sleep in the back of my Suburban and would fall asleep listening to Fragile on a cheap MP3 player.

I'll probably remember them as good times.

Edit: LOL, I guess people don't like YES, quality audio gear, or Cigars.

For some good headphones:

First get a good headphone amp. Some headphones require it due to their impedance rating. Plus, it helps separate that signal path from the motherboard and speaker amps. Since cost is no object...http://www.headphone.com/headphone-amps/headroom-desktop-amp.php

For the cans themselves, its funny that you mention Tesla. The Beyerdynamic T1 "Tesla" headphones are one of the most versatile high-end headphones out there. There are others but I've always felt that they don't lend themselves well to desktop use (the Audio Technicas I had, for example, were amazing for Jazz and Classical but couldn't do much else).
