As others have already stated... Your tires will truly do the majority of the work. Be smart! Leave yourself extra time and space. Don't think that you've "got the hang of this" and start pushing it too much because it takes but one patch of black ice to ruin your day. This will be my first winter with my cvpi as well. I'm near Philly and while the snow may not hit us quite as hard, we get our share of it all. Be smooth and avoid any abrupt input into the pedals and steering.
I bought these all-season tires and keep too much crap in my trunk already. As a year-round motorcyclist till not long ago, winter can be managed if you be smart and plan accordingly.
