Nice! Merry Christmas. That is a dope present. I had one and my friend has one, they are solid devices.
When you calibrate them, ideally you want to use the blue lab solutions like this
You will want the 7.0 and the 4.0. They give you the instructions on calibrating the pens so follow those and you'll be golden.
As for storage, the best would most likely be this.
You can also just store it in water. I just don't think that is as good?
Overall its a top quality device that is waterproof and should last you at least a year. I think if you make the effort to calibrate it regularly and store/clean it properly then you can be using it for quite a long time. I'm using a blue lab guardian meter which is great and has lasted me over a year now.
It comes factory calibrated, so you can get by without the 4.0 and 7.0 calibration solutions for a while. You should definitely pick up some storage solution to protect the pH probe. A bottle lasts forever
PH pens go out quickly if not stored properly and are allowed to dry. You need to rinse off your probe after use and store in a KCl solution such as this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CJIDH7Y/ref=sr_ph_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1484154555&sr=sr-1&keywords=bluelab+storage+solution
