Someone correct me if I am wrong, but there's a chip inside the dongle specific to the Pixel that does the audio. Thus hard to find a third party adapter. I would highly recommend Bluetooth OP. Recently bought some TaoTronics from Amazon and I am extremely happy with them.

TaoTronics Bluetooth Headphones, Sweatproof Wireless In Ear Earbuds, Sports Magnetic Earphones with Built in Mic (IPX5 Splash Proof Rating, aptX Stereo, Up to 7 Hours of Talk Time, Ceramic Antenna) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y686X78/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_YDAJzb5W46V9P

I use these daily, since december. They work perfectly.

If you want a relatively inexpensive option, I've had good luck with TaoTronics bluetooth headphones.

B06Y686X78 is what I have:

I use these because I love the bass on them. Make sure you get this model, there are similar/cheaper ones where the bass isn't as good.

I run 30ish miles a week (not a lot, but enough they get used pretty often) and I love these headphones. They hold a charge for almost the whole week. Only problem I've ever had with them was when I took them running in the rain once. It was a pretty heavy downpour though. But they bounced back and seem to be doing fine.

You can get a pair of really good bluetooth earbuds for the same price as the wired Apple earbuds you referenced. They work great for phone calls, and are literally just as good as any wired headset. In fact, they sound WAY better than those apple earbuds. Granted, they last about 4 hours before needing a recharge, but does anyone want earbuds in their ears for longer than 4 hours at a stretch anyway?

Alternatively, you could give in and officially join your aging luddite brethren in the "Halt All Advances, They Scare Me©" club, and stick with an iPhone 4 for the remainder of your bitter, wired days ;)

I specifically bought these but it looks like a newer one is out already. They sound decent but I'm no audiofile. No worse than any other ~30 headset. I love how light and portable they are and the magnets they keep them together when not in use. I can throw on a podcast while gardening or taking a walk and not worry about snagging a cord. The ear wings keep them in my ears when I move around and aren't too uncomfortable though after a few hours I have to take a break. I have very sensitive ears though.

I'd also recommend checking out what Anker has to offer. They have similar products, maybe even from the same Chinese OEM, but their service is top notch if something goes wrong. Tautronics hasn't given me any reason to dislike them, the buds are working great so far. I keep them in my bag or pocket whenever I head out nowadays.

Went to go read about the new ones. They have symmetrical pods on each side now which is good. Mine tend to slowly sag to the volume and charge control box side over time. A counterweight would solve that. They also last about an hour longer and can connect to multiple devices simulatenously, something my 10x more expensive Sony WH-1000MX2's can't.

Can vouch for Taotronics; specifically this model. SQ is honestly as good as it gets for bluetooth. No reason to spend more than $35 for wireless earbuds.

I got these just after I got my phone, and I'm blown away at how reliable they are.

TaoTronics BT earbuds, $36, aptX support and sweatproof. These have worked great for me. Until there are some nice true wireless earbuds at a reasonable price I don't see a point in spending > $40 for something I eventually break or lose.

Get something like this for your car, and a pair of BT headphones.

I agree that manufacturers should include 3.5 mm jacks since it should be up to customers to decide what they want to use, but at the same time I much prefer to not have cords connected to my phone. And if you use it in your car your phone can connect automatically, which is convenient.

I had a pair of TaoTronics BH-07 which I really liked and used every day. Unfortunately they just quit working last week after 9 months. They were cheap and I was really rough with them so I'm not too upset.

I just got the TaoTronics BH-16 which I like even more because they seal into my ears better and the wire is thinner so it doesn't snag when I turn my head.

The ones I use are $30 from Amazon and are sweatproof. And they stay in place no matter what. And they ship with multiple earbud tips and ear lobe hooks so you can customize the fit. I doubt they'll match the sound quality of a $200 product, but keeping in mind that I do want to hear traffic, I feel it is a good compromise between sound quality and situational awareness.

I use these.

They just barely touch my conch, but only because I'm wearing a pretty big moonstone end in it. They don't mess with my Industrial at all. Taotronics makes pretty solid low-end headphones, and they sound okay for the price.

Hey, I am looking for new fitness/running headphones and I came across two appearently good products and I cant decide.

I was wondering which one would you pick? (the price difference is no issue)

Budget: $50 (Amazon only)

Source: Moto Z

Type of Headphone: IEM. Already Bluetooth or can be converted.

Music: Most everything. I listen to a lot. I do like bass though.

What I need are some Bluetooth IEMs. I have some already picked out but figured I'd ask here to help narrow it down. Here is what I have so far:

Already Bluetooth

  • soundPEATS Q12

  • Anker Curve

  • TaoTronics BH16

    Can be converted

  • KZ ZST

  • KZ ZS3

  • KZ ZS5

  • Tannmak Pro

Would be converted with one of these cable, although I don't know which is best

  • KZ Cable

  • Braided Cable

  • Sport Cable

I guess overall my questions are:

Should I go with some that are already Bluetooth, or some iems that I can swap out the cable for a Bluetooth one?

If I go for one where I can convert it, which should I choose? I like good all around sound quality with an emphasis on bass that is clear but you can feel.

Which Bluetooth cable do I choose? There's about 3 different ones and they are all different.

I'm confused about your price points. You say $30 for wired headphones and then say Bluetooth costs $150/250. What wired headphones are you talking about that cost $30? Surely not anything of superb quality.

And if you're not doing elite level, there are bluetooth headphones that cost just about the same price and regular wired headphones. Bluetooth doesn't add that much unless the company you're buying them from is ripping you off.
