I use these. They have magnets that keep them attached when you’re not using them. When I am listening to something, I only put one in and tuck the cord around my opposite bra strap. They have the range for me to leave my phone rink-side without any trouble, and can connect to Siri if I need to change something. I have never had a problem paying attention, and have never seen an accident caused by someone listening with one earbud in since most who do are competent skaters who are on the ice all the time. The people I do see falling/bumping into each other are the public skaters who bring their phones on the ice to take videos, selfies, and text.

Had these for a couple months now. They've been great. Single button on the remote triggers the Assistant. https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Headphones-VAVA-Splashproof-Cancelling/dp/B071JDP15H

Apple airpods. I'd been using the Vava Moov bluetooth earbuds, which worked great, but were more of an in-ear design that blocked out noise. For running safely I prefer earbuds that allow in ambient noise.

The airpods didn't fit my ears securely until I added these cheapo foam covers. The nice thing is you can still fit the airpods in their case for charging while the foam pieces are on. I have to admit that truly wireless earbuds are pretty cool!

I haven't used those but if you like that style I can't recommend these enough.

It's not an affiliate link and I'm not a shill of any kind, just always struggled to find headphones that worked for me and I've been obsessed with these for a few years now.

I must not be the only one that likes them because they keep going up in price but I like them so much that I have a pair, two backups and bought one for my partner and they've become her main headphones too.

The in-ear style took some getting used to for me (usually prefer pricey over-ear headphones, hated every apple earbud I've ever tried—airbuds are better but not worth it IMHO) but I right away noticed I would keep my volume so much lower because I didn't need it as loud with these. I've used them many times for calls but wouldn't recommend them for that in particular, but they're my absolute favorite commuting/running/walking headphones.

Idk what those are priced at but these are always under $35 and like I said, I like them so much I bought backups. I lost a pair once and was so happy to just open up another pair of these babies. My longest pair lasted me a year and a half (from losing them) and while YMMV I've never had defects or issues with anything breaking—but I always have them either around my neck or stuck to the side of my tv (they're magnetic) but they've also survived being stuffed into a pocket in a pinch a few times.

I have AirPods and two different Bose Bluetooth earbuds but I also have these:

Inexpensive and surprisingly good.

I got these for Christmas and I freaking love them. I have tiny elf sized ears, plus a tragus and daith piercing, and they DO NOT move. Of course, wearing for long periods of time does bother my ears a bit, but usually they're fine. I wear glasses too and the little doodad on top of them actually stays within your ear. One thing, they create a kind of seal when in my ears, and are practically noise-cancelling at that point.

I've been using the Vava Moov 28's for about 2 years now and they've been perfect. They're IPX6 splash/sweat-proof. Here's a pic of them for reference, they're super non-invasive to your ear and have a natural feel after a minute or two of putting them in. It's easy to forget that I have them in when I wear them commuting, and the ear hooks are perfect for keeping them snug even for hours of rumbly trail biking, in my case. They too have AptX stereo drivers like your Taos, which is a huge plus for the bargain you get these for. They support A2DP, AVRCP, HSP, & HFP profiles. They're Bluetooth 4.2 rather than 4.1, which is just a power consumption upgrade. It's more noticeable in charging than actual use where you can get 9-10 hours of use on 2-2.5 hours for a full charge.

I mentioned that I had them for two years which is to emphasize their dependability. Bluetooth buds wouldn't last me more than 6-8 months before they degrade from use to the point where connecting them is a total drag, and lags/skips were an expectation, but seriously in the two years I've been using these I haven't had one issue connecting them to any device iOS or Android or track skipping in any situation. Their bluetooth range is like 60ft which itself is awesome. Built-in noise cancelling mic, volume control & track skipping/replaying buttons that are actually responsive, 3 sets of silicone tips & 2 pairs of ear hooks all sized accordingly, and a carrying pouch for it all. It was like your typical IEM box set, but for a pair of sub-$30 workout buds. lol

I've seen them listed for $26-$34 in the past few months; I've liked them so much I wanted to get a second pair as backup.

Another pair I've heard good things about are the Advanced Evo X sport IEMs. They aren't my type of bud as I prefer something with a more natural feel, but they have beryllium drivers so their sound quality will be better than most at this price range. Driving those nice BDDs takes a bit more power thus giving them a 5-hour max battery life which was another dealbreaker for me, but if you're the type that's willing to top out your budget for better sound quality, then these may be the choice :)

The google store has some assistant compatible wireless headphones, if your budget allows it.

I'm not too versed in wireless headphones so I can't recommend good ones. I do have these headphones that are cheap and sound pretty good, albeit a little bass heavy. Battery is around 8 hours and charging it takes less than 90 minutes. They do go on sale once in a while so check camelcamelcamel and websites for promo codes.

I bought Vava Moov 28 (amazon link) after watching a review on Unbox Therapy and I'm perfectly satisfied. Worth a shot at their price.

They’re pretty damn great though. I almost bought them but ended up with these instead

I have used these for about 6 months now. Not sure how sweaty you get, but I currently am running about 6 miles, 4 times per week and they are fine.

These are $34 on Amazon, and I'm loving them...

Am I missing anything?

u/LoaferDan · 1 pointr/BuyItForLife

Unfortunately I only have experience with the Jabras, so I couldn't really recommend anything else. I would probably start by finding some Youtube videos maybe by searching "top budget wireless headphones". I watch Jim's Review Room and he mentioned these as being pretty good and very affordable

Vava Moov 28. Easily hits into the low 30Hz range (I listen to lot of Rap n B, EDM, that kind of thing), long battery life, I use them walking to school and at the gym mostly. Good seal, stay in your ears very well even when running and sweaty. Battery life is normally 8-12 hours depending on volume in my experience. Like $30 on Amazon. Great budget option.

Amazon link if you're curious.
