Hi there! I know you mentioned you had a standing mic, so a microphone isn't a must for you, but I've had my Hyper X Clouds for about 6 months and I've really, really enjoyed them.

The mic is detachable so if you don't need it, you don't have to use it. The sounds are very distinguishable, (footsteps, both light and heavy) and I can definitely hear the direction they're coming from. Another plus is that they are indeed very comfortable and light like advertised. I wear glasses, and they don't press into my ears like other headsets.

From a less 'gamer headset' standpoint, I would recommend Bose. Either something like this or this (since you said you'd like to spend $100 or less)

I've had a pair (the one in the first link) of Bose headphones for about 5 years and they've been wonderful. They're comfy, and have good sound. I used them to game with in between the time my Turtle Beaches broke and I was pleased with them.

I hope this helps some! Please feel free to ask me any questions :)

The reviews should speak for themselves. I love my AE2's :)

These are my everyday headphones and they are absolutely perfect. They dont work while your on your side but for ASMR they are the best.

Sennheisers are great, but i swear by my Bose AE2's. I use rokkit 5's as monitors and find the flattness and sound distribution carry over very well. I use my headphones mainly for panning and as a reference but i also find them very nice for just listening to music.

I often wear these Bose AE2 headphones with glasses. My glasses have fairly solid arms and I've never had any notable discomfort. Best Buy currently has them for about 140. They are comfortable and sound great, I'd recommend them pretty highly.

These are fantastic headphones for gaming. They do not have a microphone attached to them, which can be good or bad. It depends on what type of gamer your boyfriend is. But these are the headphones my brother and I swear by when playing any game where sound clarity matters (I.E. first person shooters).

Ok so the Bose sound quality is not good enough for audiophiles, but tell me of another headphone with better sound quality that can match the comfort and lightweight feel of the Bose AE2. That's the main reason I'm about to purchase one of these. Heres the link btw:

It depends on what you need. Since you're headphone editing and based on your current headphones, I'm assuming you don't require monster sound fidelty, but an overall picture of the soundscape? If so, grab [these] (http://www.amazon.com/Bose-Around-Ear-Audio-Headphones-Black/dp/B00478O0JI/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&qid=1463768847&sr=8-18&keywords=bose+headphones).

The most important thing is how hard it clings to your head, and these feel light as a feather. I've spent months editing full days in these.

I've been looking for some new headphones and I don't consider myself and audiophile, but I like some decent sound just like everyone. My biggest requirement is that they're lightweight. I loved the Bose AE2's. They were extremely lightweight and really comfortable with decent sound. I prefer over-the-ear, but willing to try other things too! I'd love something within that price range of under $150. Thanks in advance!

I'm looking for a pair of headphones that have big earcups (as I am deaf and have cochlear implants) and are portable, preferably bluetooth, but I can handle wired as well. I'd rather not bother anybody using it, but I do turn up my music pretty loud.

I do have a pair of Bose headphones that are falling apart and as such, chafe my ears. And if I'm being honest, they were never really comfortable. Link to Bose Headphones

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

I work in an open office environment and I use a pair of Bose AE2 headphones. They don't cancel that much noise but they are really light and I don't really notice them when I am working. If you really need the noise cancellation you should look at the Bose QC25/QC35. The ear pads are just as comfortable as the AE2 but they are a bit heavier so you might notice the weight when you turn your head.
