Currently I'm rocking NHT Super Zeroes with Super 8 subwoofer and Vienna Acoustics Center Channel. My Yamaha receiver was purchased at a thrift store for $60. I love my sound system and got it cheap because it's all used, but if space and money was a consideration I would really consider the Bose Cinemates. Other good bookshelves include Bose 301's.
I was gifted this a few years ago. Still love it the same as day one. I never would've recommended Bose to anyone before, but I can't deny how prestine the sound is.
