Here's the TMI version. (I wouldn't wish this on anybody and if it can help one person, I'll throw it all out there for everyone to see.)

Recipe:

2 Cups butter
1/2 Cup MCT oil
12 caps Butyrate
Glutamine (I don't remember how much. I weighed the butyrate powder then added the same amount of glutamine. So whatever that was.)

Gently warm butter and MCT oil in a sauce pan over low heat until the butter is barely melted. Allow to cool while stirring until the oil is less than 105*. Stir in powders. Immediately use while still warm.

How I did it:

  • Give a warm water enema to clear fecal matter
  • Wait as long as it takes for the bowels to calm down after that so they don't immediately act up upon insertion of the oil (this is when I'd warm the oil and mix it all together)
  • Deliver warm oil slowly so it doesn't get rejected
  • Hold as long as possible. (If that's all day, great. You can stop here.)
  • After the bowel movement where you lose the oil, clean up and give about 2 tablespoons of oil with an anal lube injector. (Whatever. It works. 2 for $5 off Amazon.)

Additional details that might be helpful:

  • I didn't take the supplements orally. Just direct application. In the study it only worked as far in as the butyrate and glutamine could reach directly so that's what I did. Don't think it would hurt, but in my case, it wasn't necessary. (Although I definitely see how this combination could be a real game-changer for the small intestine and I'd never object to taking them)
  • From what I understand according to the study, the butyrate and glutamine must have direct contact with the problem area. If your ulcerations are higher than mine, you may be able to find a colonic practitioner who'd be willing to help. I know they'll sometimes allow a person to bring in their own herbs or other additions for the high colonic. It would be expensive to do every day for up to a month, but it would be money well spent if it worked.
  • And it might not take a month. In the study it took up to a month, but the patients weren't eating carnivore. I really believe that this is why I responded so quickly. I was already on the right track and that area just needed a little push.

Here are the ones I bought:

Very good luck to anyone going through this. It's an agonizing pain that I empathize with deeply. That fistula was one of the worst things I've ever suffered. The fact that it went on for 18 freaking months absolutely broke me.

Final point: This treatment did only good for me but I have NO IDEA if there could be harm from this. No clue how these doses, delivered in this manner, impact the body. I only did it for about nine days, and I don't know if there could be damage from going longer. I do know that people take huge doses of glutamine (much more than I used) long-term without problems. I do know that people eat mass quantities of butter (a very good source of butyrate) every day for years without hurting themselves. I think that, at worst, it would be a harmless effort. But I can't guarantee anything.

And I always expelled the bulk of it within 15 minutes. So I don't know what would happen if a person held onto it for the day.

If anybody has any real knowledge to that point, I'd be grateful to hear it.

I'm just barely smart enough to be dangerous so don't trust me. Do your own homework and make an informed decision.

I did try daily 250ml kefir for a couple of months, no impact. But it was the blueberry flavored one, I couldn't take the salty taste of the raw one. I might try l-glutamine. Any brand you can recommend?
I'm thinking this one

BulkSupplements Pure L-Glutamine Powder (1 Kilogram) 1kg for $24.96.

I think that company is kind of shady, though. Every single time I buy anything from them, I get a followup email offering me a free product of my choosing in exchange for an "honest" review.

Jarrow has one too 1kg for $32.62, cheaper if you do the subscribe and save thing.

Since you're basically new I would avoid isolation workouts (e.g. an arm day or just chest day). Do compound movements for at least a month. Push pull leg or upper body one day, rest, then lower body. Someone already said buy glutamine. It's a great supplement.

This is probably the best bang for your buck.
