Ugh! I’m sorry. It is probably worth checking in with your OB and see if there is anything else they can do to help you. Maybe chewing gum or peppermints? Or I found it helpful to carry around something that smelt like peppermint (cheap essential oils), sometimes that made me β€œforget” the gagging.

I recommend these sick bags though (not that that is super helpful):

I just wanted to share this brand I use, as I prefer them over the standard blue ones from the hospital. I use these ones because they are a lot thinner and fit better in a purse! They also have a 2 drawstring mechanism to tie it shut and avoid messes. The best part is there’s like an absorbent pad inside the bag that turns all liquids into a gel so that it does not smell. Super great if you are wanting to be a little more discreet!!

Specifically, a face steamer and a moulded eyepatch.

My migraine kit consists of
Lamictal (daily)
Imitrex. (abortive)
Zofran. (anti nausea)
Excedrin/ibuprofen/tylenol

A moulded eye patch and a moulded blindfolded that has a nose gap. It being moulded allows you to blink and the nose gap allows the blindfold to completely black things out.

I use the eyepatch because for me, my eye pain and light sensitivity is often only in one eye. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078V57Y5B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_I-d2CbHAR5MGA

A face steamer (steam is the only thing that alleviates my eye pain and this device allows me to remain in bed instead of trying to crawl to/get into/get out of the shower). https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MTKAA4T/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_pbe2CbANMFD7X

Look into something like this for the vomiting. Someone in babybumps mentioned them once and I bought some just in case. Haven't had to use them yet but they have great reviews.

I haven't thrown up yet either, but for peace of mind I bought these and have them stashed in various places: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0051AZZCM I figured they don't go bad so they'll be useful eventually! :)

Yup I ordered these off amazon, they have an absorbant pad. I haven't had to use one yet, but I felt close today.

I feel you on the public transit issue. I found I HAVE to sit in a forward facing seat, which means staying on the slower train instead of transferring 1/2 way to a fast one, because it only has sideways seats (which are hard to get) and tends to smell worse. There's a nicer moving commuter train I can take, but its hard for me to catch in the morning and is a mile walk to my office. I'll take it home sometimes. Part of me just want to start driving, but I'm so tired and would get mad in traffic, plus the weather has been snowy and I don't like driving in that. The elevator ride up to my floor nearly did me in this morning.

I found some on amazon.

If you just search barf bags or vomit bags, there are a lot of options. :)

Congratulations! Ha!

I bought [these vomit bags] (https://www.amazon.com/Carebag-Vomit-Super-Absorbent-Count/dp/B0051AZZCM/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1484001074&sr=8-1&keywords=care+bag+vomit) the other day because my nausea is getting worse and my office is the furthest one from the bathroom at work. I'm also planning on keeping a few of these bags in my car -- just in case.

Ever thought about stocking airline vomit bags in the back seat?

I was already a nervous thrower upper my whole life. So morning sickness and stress really made me sicker than I think I would have been normally.

Sometimes if my husband would rub my back and tell me it was going to be okay. I would calm down and not not throw up or only throw up once.

What helped the MOST was the sick bags from Amazon that I could carry every where and reduced the smell. My husband hates vomit and he could sit next to me and not smell anything. I have literally throw up pretty discreetly all kinds of places. Mostly notably at the airport, at the gate and wait by the bathroom for my husband to get out. I seriously didn't want to put my head near an airport toilet.

These: http://www.amazon.com/Carebag-Vomit-Super-Absorbent-Count/dp/B0051AZZCM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1453653000&sr=8-2&keywords=sick+bags

I have one of these bags left at 38 weeks and I keep it in my purse.

I recommend these bags: https://www.amazon.com/Carebag-Medical-Grade-Vomit-Absorbent/dp/B0051AZZCM

Honestly, I recommend them even for people without IBD. Throw a towel, extra baby wipes, some tissues, a black trash bag, a couple of bottles of water, and a change of clothes in there and you're ready for anything.

Ugh, I'm sorry that you're dealing with such extreme sickness, and that people are being so stupid. I hope you find relief soon. Are you on medication?

Also, if you don't already have these, I hear they're pretty great. Never used one myself, but they got good reviews.

u/abowlofcereal Β· 0 pointsr/Lyft

I'm passing on this NYE, as well. I'd much rather be with my friends that night.

It's a little late to recommend vomit bags, but CareBags are among the best: they have a draw string to close and keep the stench out and an absorption pad built in.

Also, if you're taking care of drunks- while it might not get you any additional tips- water and something for them to munch might help them stay somewhat coherent.
