I believe it's this model. Retails for $35 and is $22 right now.

If that guy saw it being sold for $20 in the store, he should have just bought it.

Casio AE1200WHD-1A

Price: $30

Movement: Quartz

Style: Digital sports watch

Size: 39.5mm

Link: [Amazon] (https://www.amazon.com/Casio-AE1200WHD-1A-Stainless-Steel-Digital/dp/B0094B79CI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1504021608&sr=8-1&keywords=casio+AE1200WHD-1A)

Description: "Casio" Royale. One of the best cheap watch out there. It''s packed with features (world timer, alarm, Stopwatch etc). Personally, I like the steel one but obviously you could get different versions like the AE1200WH-1A or AE1200WHB-1BV

u/LowBrowOrbit · 8 pointsr/Watches

My personal favorite in this category is the Casio World Time. In terms of pure function it's a great bang for buck watch, and if you like the aesthtic (it's not for everyone) it can be a killer EDC.

For autos, I think the subs collective opinion would probably be the Seiko SNK series.

u/shadowbanningsucks · 8 pointsr/Watches

Casio absolutely dominates the market at the very low end. They make very cheap watches that are still quality timepieces. Some suggestions...

Casio F105W

Casio MRW200

Casio Royale

Casio MW240

u/narwhalpiguy · 8 pointsr/Watches

Well I'm not sure if you're into digital watches at all, but if you are, I'd suggest the Casio AE1200WHD-1A (Casio Royale) . It's sexy as hell for a digital watch, and has world time, which could be useful on your trip. Most importantly it's cheap, so no biggie if you lose it.
There's a non-metal version that saves you a few bucks (here), but I think the extra money is worth it when getting the metal version.

u/TheDutchWonder · 7 pointsr/TeenFA

I would suggest a black watch of some sort, as casios are my favorite, I can use those as an example.

Not all 100% black, but they at least got a little bit of black in them. I think part of wearing a watch is being able to balance how busy it looks on your wrist with how busy the rest of your outfit is. If you're going for streetwear, wearing a flashy watch is a lot easier than for someone going for a business casual look (of course there are exceptions). I'd say look at these and see if any would mesh with your wardrobe. Even if not, get the calculator one or the analog minimal one just to experiment with watches. They're cheap and it's fun as hell.

Didn't even spend the extra $12 to upgrade from plastic to silver plastic

It's the Casio Men's AE1200WHD-1A Stainless Steel Digital Watch.
Here's an Amazon link (it's on sale in Canada.) https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0094B79CI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Like /u/rockidr4 said probably either a Casio Calculator Databank or one of the Casio "Royales". Also, if you've got some extra money to burn, and don't mind JDM's, consider the Independent Ana/Digi/Temp. Independent is a subsidiary of Citizen. I know nothing about the watch, I just came across it randomly and it looked pretty nerdy to me. Also I'll wager none of your friends have one :p

u/Abeestungmyhead · 6 pointsr/Watches

It's been covered already to a degree, but I would suggest that you get something cheap that has either a gmt or world timer function. A flashy watch is a target unfortunately. You don't need absurd water resistance. There is a WUS thread where a guy dives down 30m with his 30m water resistant casio and it's fine. Sure, anything can happen to any watch, but it's absurd to think that you need a 200m watch to swim with. That's like saying everyone needs V rated tires on their cars. If I were traveling a good deal with a watch I would pick up something like the casio world timer

https://www.amazon.com/Casio-AE1200WHD-1A-Stainless-Steel-Digital/dp/B0094B79CI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1465755855&sr=8-1&keywords=casio+world+timer

It's cheap. It's light. It has a stopwatch, multiple Alarms,World time (duh), backlight and 100m water resistance. and it doesn't look all that bad on the cheapo metal bracelet.

You break something like that and you're out twenty five dollars or so.

u/Saneless · 4 pointsr/metalgearsolid

And if someone wants a $26 Casio watch that invokes this style a bit...

Sure! This is the AE1200WHD-1A. There's also a black ABS version AE1200WH-1A, which is also nice!

Dude, if you want a seiko or some low end brand, just buy gen. This is a good one for someone on a budget and is touted as one of the best. Casio digital royale

Depending on what you are looking for, here are a couple of recommendations to keep your eyes peeled for while shopping. You might be able to find them at various stores around town, but I’ve sourced mine from Amazon with no issues:

Casio Men's AE1200WHD-1A Stainless Steel Digital Watch - World Time

This guy looks sharp, has a metal band, and hosts quite a few features such as: light, alarm, timer, stopwatch, and date display. Kind of a “dad watch” but very clean and practical for the price.

Casio Men's MDV106-1AV 200M Duro Analog Watch, Black

This is a cool diver watch that is a huge bang for your buck. It looks quite a bit more expensive than it actually is. Has a one-way rotating bezel (dive function) that is very secure, a locking crown, and you can swap the band to tailor the look to what you are wearing. It is actually water resistant and I have seen people use it while diving. I put a striped nylon strap on mine to get that James Bond Rolex Submariner vibe.

Seiko Men's SNK809 Seiko 5 Automatic Stainless Steel Watch with Black Canvas Strap

This is probably my personal favorite. You can get it in a couple of different color schemes and I got mine (black) for around $60. This is an automatic watch so there are no batteries. It winds as you move, which is great if you wear it everyday, but not so much if you swap it out for a couple of days. It’s pretty small and lightweight and the lume (glow in the dark, Seiko is usually regarded at being very good for it) on the face is insane. While backpacking I’ve woken up in the middle night with the face still glowing as if I had just flashed it with light. You can swap the band on this as well, and I’ve found the NATO straps to be a little nicer than the standard canvas strap. It’s isn’t as dressy, but definitely a great watch. The movement is also a pretty unique Japanese movement that scrolls like most higher end watches instead of “tick tick tick” which can be loud and annoying at times.

There is also the Timex Weekender option. They are pretty cheap and you can find them everywhere. They are available in a ton of color options so for $100 you could probably grab a few different styles. They make a bunch of designs of them as well, but they are definitely just cheap everyday watches and can be quite loud.

u/GREAT_SALAD · 3 pointsr/Watches

I went to participate in a sports event this weekend and decided to take this Casio along. For this event, you had to camp outdoors and take part in different sporting events for three days. It has been raining a lot here lately and my first choice was a diver. But then I realized that I'd need a stopwatch, and alarm, plus water resistance and the watch has to be such that losing it wouldn't matter. So I took this Casio along. It displays the world map and the time zone, and tracks times for four different time zones. Comes with alarm, stopwatch, timer, day, date, and is water resistant to 330 feet! This watch went with me underwater, in mud, in shower. I did all obstacle courses wearing this Casio. I was truly amazed at how useful this watch is. For $25 everyone should have this watch lol

I'm sure there's other options, but Casio is where you want to be.

u/Alakazam · 3 pointsr/malefashionadvice

What kind of accessories are you looking for exactly? Guys, luckily, don't have much in the way of jewelry.

For a watch, you could easily get a Gshock or a Casio Duro within your price range.

Or, if you want more than one accessory, Royal + Kirkland Trail Socks are within your budget.

Or perhaps a scarf? Gloves?

u/ZombieLoveChild · 3 pointsr/Watches

I'll do you one better and give you the Amazon link. It's a great little cheapie, but fair warning: the bracelet isn't that good, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a new strap.

It also looks good on Leather (not my picture).

It's a Casio AE1200WHD-1A. I had seen this watch in stores a while back. Thanks to you guys on this reddit, I learned the model number and got it on Amazon. They're only $26. Here's an affiliate link if you want to pick on up for yourself

u/ravenuse · 2 pointsr/Watches

That's the AE1200WHD-1A. Great watch.

u/roy-orbison- · 2 pointsr/casio

I’m sure many standard Casio models do, and I know for a fact that most of the G-SHOCK models do this. The model I have, for example, let’s me have a countdown timer, and on top of that, have it repeat as soon as it’s finished. I use it when working out for 1 minute of intense reps and 1 minute reps back to back for as long as I can.

So yes many do, if you look in the Amazon descriptions or where ever you buy them it should list it as a feature, as “Countdown Timer,” separate from the “Chronograph” or “Alarm” modes.

This is the standard square G-SHOCK, and will last you forever and has the feature you requested.
https://www.amazon.com/Casio-G-shock-DW5600E-1V-Shock-Resistant/dp/B000GAYQKY

This is a slightly less expensive but still good (and sturdy, most any Casio is nigh indestructible) “Casio Royale” as it’s been nicknamed, and seems to be listed with the countdown function.
https://www.amazon.com/Casio-AE1200WHD-1A-Stainless-Steel-Digital/dp/B0094B79CI

Or if those don’t suit your tastes, any model with the “Countdown Timer” listed should fulfill your needs.

for digital, you can look at the Casio Royale (AE1200WH-1A resin strap, AE1200WHD-1A steel bracelet), which has world time and 100m water resistance. Or see which G-shock models have dual time, though the G-shocks might be going over your budget.

if you want to go analog, any dive watch can do a second time zone by using the rotating bezel. For example, if my local time is pacific daylight time, and I want to keep track of UTC, then line up the 12 on the rotating bezel with the 5 o'clock on the dial, and voila, the bezel reads UTC time. The Casio Duro is $46 on amazon, and has 200m water resistance

Trying to find a fun digital beater to add to the collection for some variety. For some reason it caught my attention recently. Would love to hear positives/negatives on it from current or past owners. It's $20 bucks so... not much risk but still curious. Thanks in advance!

u/Dessicated_Fig · 1 pointr/Watches

I'm looking for a watch with a few specific characteristics, and don't really know where to look. I usually buy the cheapest casio watch I can find at walmart and they work just fine, but there are a few features I'm looking for and I'd rather just get something that fits the bill, so, in order of importance:

Comfort: most of these watches seem to have rubber/silicone bands which I find very uncomfortable and stiflingly hot. I'll also mention I have very, very thin wrists. I've found metal and leather bands more comfortable, and have never tried cloth.

Features: I need a good light, and I brew gongfu tea often and need to time brews, so accurate, big and easy to see second counting is helpful, but not like, dire.

As far as calendars go, if I can get the date and day of the week, I'm happy. Not expecting any fancy calendrical complications in my price range, which brings me to:

Looking for something under or about $100. https://www.amazon.com/Casio-AE1200WHD-1A-Stainless-Steel-Digital/dp/B0094B79CI I was considering this one, but it seems like it has some complications I just don't need. I prefer analog, but this doesn't matter too much. I like minimalist styling but also like when things have a very distinctive style or features (the world map above being an example).

I get that this is ridiculously general, but anything helps.

Edit: as far as styling goes, just saw this post https://old.reddit.com/r/Watches/comments/9mfe4w/junghans_an_unexpected_gift/ and I love this very bare, old-pocket-watch looking face

u/johnwclark · 1 pointr/Watches

I agree with LawsListens on this, and we have very similar opinions. I think this is a case where you need to determine what makes it seem cheap to you. For some it is the seemingly random colors on many of the plastic models.

My favorite cheap black model is the Casio F105, but they got it down to blue and grey on black. I think putting these on a nato strap makes them look really sharp, and much less cheap. If you want a silver case look at the Casio A158, or the Royale ( AE1200 ). I have the F105 ( and a couple G-Shocks, but these are way too thick based on what you said ).

There are some nice "Ana-Digi" models that have a small LCD display on an analog watch, and might give you some of what you want, like this AW49, or this AW80. I have never bought any of this, but they seem like a good middle ground.

If you want something a bit more "office acceptable", you probably need to go pure analog, but you are going to give up a number of cool functions that you may use from your digital. If you want something that is inexpensive and tough Casio Duro MDV106, it is a 200m diver, with a stainless steel case, and a screw down crown. These can usually be found for $45-60, but it has some size to it at 44mm. Probably my favorite, under the radar pick is the SNK80x, personally I like the SNK807 ( navy blue ) or the 803 ( beige ), but they are all the same great watch, and usually under $70. I own both of these.

Great watch, rated #1 men's watch on Amazon. Of all the deals on Prime Day, this resonated with me the most. Looking forward to beating this watch to the ground.

Correct me if wrong, but I think it's only a valid offer in Canada?

Stole it for $21 CAD which is $16 USD.

Thanks! and that watch looks rad! I just picked this casio up because I destroyed the last couple watches that I had. The one I'd probably go back to is the Orient Mako in blac, but I've also had my eyes on the Rodina. You might like this casio as well!

Challenging becasue I have small wrists (<6in circumference) so most durable watches look clown-sized on me. The only digital watch I would spend substantial money on is this g-shock, probably.
