Those are pretty much the standards they will recommend to you over at /r/malefashionadvice. Check out that sub for a thousand more recommendations!
Horrible. Rockport leather is notoriously bad.
Just get Clark's Desert Boots.
They are cheaper to boot (heh). They will look better and the leather will be better.
Get them in beeswax leather to fill a similar role that your shoes would fill.
What's the big difference between this one and Clark's Originals Desert Boot? Something about a crepe sole? It's something which I don't really like because it gets all dirty. I personally don't really love the silhouette of it, prefering this or this (in tan leather).
Amazon Link $89.95 with free 1-2 day shipping if you have prime comes out to same price as nordstrom after taxes.
They're just Clarks Desert Boots! Can find them a lot of places. I'd highly suggest sizing down a full size! I'm size 11 and got size 10 for them and the brown Red Wings.

Those aren't Clarks Desert Boots, but they're similar boots called Chukkas.

Beeswax is the most recommended colour here.
I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on cdb's in beeswax for $80
Amazon offers beeswax CDBs in size 8 for $96 after the 20% off e-mail coupon. After you make your color/size selection, look to the far right panel that says "More Buying Choices" and click on the "Add to Cart" button next to "Amazon.com." This is important because the coupon only applies to items shipped and sold directly by Amazon.
However, I will note that CDBs were down to about $63 on Amazon last November and February. It's up to you how bad you want them. Can you wait several months or do you want them now?

The CDBs in beeswax on Amazon are showing up as 85 for me, am I doing something wrong?
Surprised Amazon hasn't been mentioned yet. They're usually $20-30 cheaper depending on size/color. Link: CDBs on Amazon
Anyone know where I can find these? I was gonna go crazy and get the beeswax color.
And I also needed a watch. Was thinking about this one?
How am I doing?

Serious question: When was the last time you found them under $60 at Amazon?
I've been monitoring (almost daily) Amazon's price on beeswax US10 CDBs since the last week of February, and have not found them that low. Barring a coupon code one of the minor sellers had for a few days (took the price down to the mid-$70s), they haven't been lower than Amazon's current price of $81.xx. The suede versions are slightly cheaper, and although I've been checking them less frequently (1-2 times per week), I've not seen them at the $60 level either.
Here's what camelcamelcamel says about the pricing on US10 beeswax CDBs. They also say pretty much the same thing about the taupe suede version too.
Is there a reason you have to buy them from that website?
CDBs are ~$90 on Amazon.
But yeah, those are the right shoe. They're super clean like that for a good three days until you beat them up a little.
edit: .au Don't hire me as a detective.
Um.. these aren't exactly stylish (in my humble opinion). If you're in the market for something comfortable and plain, why not give Clark's a shot. Their desert boots are great
EDIT: just re-read that they need/should be low cut. Here's their driving moc literally no heel/sole
They're technically desert boots, just not Clarks "Desert Boots".
You're right, they have "Bushacre Desert Boots" vs "Desert Boots"
These are the "Desert Boots," part of Clarks Originals line.

I was like you -- I only wore my running shoes or my birks for a long time. About a year or two ago, I got a pair of Clark's Desert Boot (src) at my friend's recommendation. Now, I wear them almost every day.
I went with the Beeswax Leather option: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000WU8SBQ
In my opinion they are the perfect day-to-day shoe. I wear them with jeans and a tee, or chinos and a dress shirt, or anything else. If I'm not wearing a suit, I wear them.
Edit: You'll see them a lot on this subreddit... In the first 5 posts I clicked from this week's fit-check thread, two people were wearing them in their pictures.
Clark's Desert Boots
My suggestions from time spent on here:
These three things all work as birthday gifts, they're all returnable, and they all look good on most guys. Check them out and let me know if you decide to go with any of them.
3.4 miles. Half commute on 1-lane roads where I kinda block traffic (no shoulder, no bike lane), other half is on a shared use path. generally flat.
I used to wear gym shorts/t-shirt and change on arrival/departure. now I just wear my business casual clothes, including these shoes more often than not: CDBs. I go about 3-4mph slower than my weekend long rides to not get too sweaty... it can still be pretty warm in the mornings in North Carolina in November.
I got lucky and got them off Amazon for $67 in late July without the 20%. The price fluctuates quite a bit depending on the day and seller. I'd say anything under $80 for new is a great deal. Keep checking the price and use http://camelcamelcamel.com/Clarks-Originals-Mens-Desert-Beeswax/product/B000WU8SBQ?context=browse
I bought this sportscoat, v-neck and denim at J. Crew.
Pic. Is this good for an evening party ?
I am also thinking of buying these shoes. Do you recommend any other shoes that goes with this outfit ?
I think they're normally around $91 for most sizes on Amazon
Clark's dessert boots are super versatile and look great. There is a reason MFA is constantly recommending them. And only $70 on Amazon, and they will last a while.
But Vans are great, and there is nothing wrong with a simple shoe. The era 59 line is quite good. It's nice to have some color. Put some leather laces in those and you are set.
Check the shoe guide for more info, though.
They're these and the watch is a Timex weekender with (I think) this strap
if you are able to return those i would, and purchase these
The desert boots recommendation is great. I've got a pair that I get a hell of a lot of use out of.
A suggestion: go for the "Originals" Desert Boot, as opposed to the Bushacre. The higher quality and increased comfort of the Originals is well worth the price difference. Sometimes, you can even find them closer in price.
The Amazon price on the Originals is all over the place, ranging from $70 to $130 (source).
Either way, I find the "Beeswax" color option to be highly versatile and easy to care for.
They look a lot like Clark's Desert boots. And if they're not, you should get these anyway because they are awesome.
Clarks Desert Boots are eligible.
Also all Allen Edmonds sold by Amazon.
lol you're probably looking for the particular type of Desert Boot. Here you go buddy. And if you're looking for something more durable there is the Clarks Bushacre Desert Boot. Same shoe different sole. I'm going to get me a pair of Bushacres soon.
I was looking at Clarks Bushacres on Amazon, and the beeswax leather does not look like it does on CDBs (Here are the Bushacres, and here are CDBs).
Is this a mistake from Amazon, or is the beeswax leather actually different on these two boots?
I would prefer Clarks Desert Boot in Beeswax
The style is known as a chukka. A very popular option here on MFA is the Clarks Desert Boot, or CDB
Would the sand suede clarks be a stylish decision for a wardrobe of mostly black jeans?
I would stay away from Puma boots. Especially since many of those look like high tops. Here are some of MFA's favorites:
L.L. Bean Katahdin Iron Works Engineer Boots
Chippewa 6" "GQ" Boot
Red Wing Heritage Beckman
Alden Indy Boot
And of course Clark's Originals Desert Boots
Take a look at these. It's guaranteed that they'll look better initially, with age, and that you'll be able to wear them much longer.
Check this link. Looks like they're on sale to me. Also could anyone help me out with sizing on these boots. I'm usually a standard US11 and take a converse size9. Does anyone here know how true to size these are?
Looking to buy two pairs of shoes...which fits the bill for a college student to wear casually with jeans?
Thinking of the classic beeswax clark db's
and maybe some oxford's like these?
They are a Chukka boat. Cut just above the ankle.
