So, I am a huge fan of athlesuire, and I have far more outfits in this category than in any other category. It's a bit ridiculous. That said, since I've sunk so much investment into this part of my wardrobe, here's my two cents.

  • My best return on investment - Lululemon. I have one pair of aligns that I've had for over 5 years despite suffering a humiliating scooter accident that scratched up my knee but left my leggings unscathed. They're comfortable and sometimes I even get away with wearing them with a tunic top to work when I'm PMSing (I work at a law firm, so the dress code is on the more formal side). So, absolutely worth the investment. I just got the wonderunders and so far love them.
  • My best "affordable" leggings and sports bras - Fabletics. These make up the bulk of my leggings and sports bras. I admit that I have a VIP membership (i.e., I pay $59.99 a month to receive curated "outfits" that I can purchase at a discount). I love their designs, their compression, etc. I think they're flattering and they have a huge selection.
  • For shirts that I actually work out in (although usually I just wear a sports bra), I just go through Amazon or Target. Also, I recently purchased a pair of leggings from Amazon that were marketed as Lululemon "dupes" on Youtube ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NQFRYKY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) for a Halloween costume. I've only just tried them on, but they're amazingly soft and similar to the Lululemon aligns. According to reviews, however, they're not sweatproof.
  • I've also bought a pair of leggings from Athletica a few years ago that I still wear. If you like compression, they are by far the most...compressed? Compressing? I think you get what I'm trying to say. Anyway, they're flattering. I'd definitely recommend going in and trying them on.

As far as the Peloton boutique clothes, I haven't purchased any. They're all sourced from other companies (such as Lululemon) and seem way overpriced to me.

It's hard to really offer a concrete recommendation as we all have different views on our own bodies, so my main rec would be just to go to a few activewear retailers and trying on a few different styles. Then you'll know what you like as far as compression, how how the waist should be, 7/8 length...that kind of stuff.
