The performance of the degrees is a relatively recent innovation. I'm not aware of anyone (ever) individually receiving the degrees of the AASR in a one-at-a-time-progressive-fashion.
But as mentioned here - that's not how AASR-SJ the ritual works.
For a large part of the Rite's history one "received" the degree mouth to ear, that is to say a lecturer stood in front of you (or a small class) and recited the degree while you furiously transcribed it in short hand, to be later rendered in full form in to your personal cahier.
This is how Pike received the Degrees from Mackey in fact.
This also parallels the transmission of the the pre-cursor to the AASR, the Order of the Royal Secret.
Brent Morris and Art de Hoyos mention the museum at the House of the Temple is in possession of numerous personal cahiers despite orders to Brothers to destroy them; hence the title of the book "Committed to the Flames".
Admittedly, the book is about the RER and Cernauism, but it is an instruction that comes up frequently in the AASR-SJ history.
