Mumble - Mumble is the place where we will meet for tryouts/practices/games. The channel stated above will be underneath the NLTP tree. There's a damn lot of channels there, but hunt through them and you'll find us. Mumble is a VoIP server, meaning it requires a mic. If you don't have a mic, you'll still be able to text chat, but you'll quickly learn the value of owning a mic. For information about connecting to mumble, see the TagPro Wiki - Mumble. There you'll find instructions as well as a short video on reaching us.
Pro Tip: Mumble has a rudimentary search function. If you click on the box with all the names and channels (or just click on your own name), you can start typing the name of a person or room and the scroll bar will jump to that place.
Can't do what you want without much augmentation. After doing a google search, I couldn't find something to split the mic and headset signals. Ideally you're looking for a 2.5mm y splitter but those all split one audio signal into two which doesn't take care of the mic.
What about getting a normal headset where the headphones and mic cables are separate, then attaching a 3.5mm -> 2.5mm adapter on the headphone bit and plugging that into the xbox controller and just plugging the mic in normally?

I've not tried those products and I advise to stay away from cheap ones. Personally I use a Microsoft headset that's really good but it was like, seventy bucks (was a gift, I'd never have bought it myself as I usually buy cheap headsets every time one breaks).
