In the PC world, 144hz monitors are definitely becoming the norm. 1080p at 120-144hz are becoming very cheap.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07J4SXNQ5/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_oA-6CbH5RB1SS

Of course, the GPU to reach that sort of frame rates is not. My 1080 Ti does just as many FPS at 1080p as the 2080 and I paid a $150 less a month and half after launch.... FPS seems to be very stagnant at the moment.

Just saw a Dell 27 inch that looks promising, at a price of 150. Seems as though some color settings will need to be adjusted, nonetheless a solid buy I assume.

There's a 27" Dell Gaming monitor 144hz, and I got it for like $179. I can't think of the name, but type in the previous phrase and you'll find it.

Edit: Found it. I love this monitor.

r/buildapcsales is your friend, also don't order monitors from newegg due to their atrocious dead pixel policy. Amazon has a much better policy.

$140 - ViewSonic VX2458-MHD, 1080p 144hz, 24 inches, MVA: It's freesync, g-sync compatible on 10xx and up but you need a displayport cable. Some concerning reviews.

$180 - Dell D2719HGF, 1080p 144hz, 27 inches, TN: Also freesync and g-sync compatible (seems a dp cable equal to or under 6 feet is best). For $189 it comes with the 6 ft dp cable. Some would have you believe that TN is garbage or that 27 inch 1080p is bad, I say not really. Unless you do photo work or really into color accuracy, TN looks fine. Also the viewing angles are good enough for 4 people sitting in a row. The 27 inch part can be solved just by moving the monitor backwards.

$280 - ASUS VG279Q, 1080p, 144hz, 27 inches, IPS: The only 1080p 144hz I could find with "muh IPS panel", freesync and g-sync compatible with dp. This price is garbage for a 1080p 144hz monitor, you can get a 1440p 144hz monitor for cheaper. As typical with IPS monitors, has quality control problems - if you care at all about dead pixels, expect to send it back to Amazon for a replacement several times. The only reason why you would want a monitor like this one is if you really need IPS but don't have the GPU for 1440p.

The first two options are good prices. If you have the budget for it, you might consider 1440p 144hz; good TN options at around $300 these days (I got mine for $250 a week ago), and IPS options around $400.

It's this monitor but refurbished.

Only has DisplayPort. 7% of the reviews are 1 star though with failed monitors in the first year, seems like cheaply made crap to me. It's also very old, like from 2014. Personally it's a bit clunky, old, seems cheaply made, etc...

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07J4SXNQ5/

This Dell model is similarly priced, reputable brand (their monitors are usually fine), newer model, and it's FreeSync. I hear some GSync compatibility has been done where many FreeSync monitors are now cross compatible, might look into that before you buy a new monitor.

TN panel, so not the best colors or viewing angles. But it's 144hz, and though some people say 27' is too wide for 1080p (possibly blurry text) it really doesn't bother me at all.

u/shrinkmink · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

Some things to consider before opting for monitors like these.

  • Does it have low frame rate compensation?
  • Does it take freesync over hdmi with the included cable? (aka do you need to buy a dp cable?)
  • Does it really have HDR as advertised?
  • 1ms VRB is it some meme to advertise low ms when its a little higher? say 4 to 5ms.
  • Why did this monitor not have freesync 2 certification?
  • Is it because of the meh 48-144hz freesync range?
  • Is changing to IPS worth the extra 70 over the https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07J4SXNQ5/ref=psdc_1292115011_t2_B07MDXF81K dell monitor?
u/Spencerfjz · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

Kind of skimping on the PSU, that monitor is a little expensive for only 75 hz. This one is cheaper and is 144hz. I would add a 1 or 2TB HDD.

u/WhyDoYouBlock · 2 pointsr/Monitors

That one's pretty good, not that I recommend 27" 1080p but if it's the one you think will be the best for your usage, go for it.

Only thing you have to do to it is adjust the settings to get the best color out of it. Other than that, it should be a reliable monitor.

Edit: that price is bad actually since you can get a 1440p144 for only $50 more: https://www.amazon.com/Dell-27-Inch-LED-Lit-Monitor-S2719DGF/dp/B00N2L5CXO

Edit 2: Here's a monitor that's 1080p144hz 27" that is less than $200 https://www.amazon.com/Dell-D2719HGF-Response-Speakers-FreeSync/dp/B07J4SXNQ5/

u/actualsysadmin · 2 pointsr/wallstreetbets

Look on Amazon for a Dell 1920x1080 monitor 144hz 27 inch. They are $180.

I don't mind splurging on monitors because they literally last years. These 3x I have will probably last me 5-6 years before I replace them with something newer. So, that's 2x hardware replacement cycles. I managed to get 4 years out of my last desktop by just buying a new GPU early as mine died 6 months before I replaced the whole PC and took the new GPU to the new PC.

Also monitor mounts are totally worth the money. Mine was like $45 and it holds all 3 monitors. Gives me a ton of extra desk room so that way I can have my laptop on the side, and still gives me room to have my keyboard and mouse on the desk itself. My standing desk was worth every penny. To be able to stand and stretch is glorious. I picked up a sound system to go along with it, so the desk by itself was around $850, the rest was audio equipment in the above price estimate.

u/Tiaan · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

Anyone have any thoughts on these two monitors on sale today?

  1. Dell 27" 1080p 144hz 2ms Freesync $150

  2. Viewsonic 27" 1080p 144hz 1ms Freesync $180

Is there any particular reason to pay $30 more for the Viewsonic? The monitor will be primarily used for gaming.
u/Exonn · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

I saw the deal on theDell 27' monitor last night but the deal is completely gone now.

Does anybody know if this deal will come back or is it most likely already gone?

u/AtTheGates · 2 pointsr/Amd

Both pretty good monitors, bro. Obviously since both 144Hz and that's what you really want, go for the cheapest.

If you want to look for a 27" 144Hz, this one is pretty cheap although a bit more than those two options.

https://www.amazon.com/Dell-D2719HGF-Response-Speakers-FreeSync/dp/B07J4SXNQ5/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=Dell+gaming+monitor&qid=1562779704&s=electronics&sr=1-3

Alienware has this 240hz monitor going for 300. It's overkill for your rig but still future-proof. Also, you can tone down your stuff and experience the full 240. For about the rest go with a DS3H board and taxes should clock out to 400.

EDIT for 144 take this monitor, it's about the same price as above. https://www.amazon.com/Dell-D2719HGF-Response-Speakers-FreeSync/dp/B07J4SXNQ5/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=144hz&qid=1562775162&s=gateway&sr=8-3

You can still use the monitor but I don't think it can utilize G-sync.

For FHD (1920 x 1080) , This monitor might be a good alternative.

Dell D2719HGF (144Hz, TN Panel, AMD FreeSync, 2ms) is currently $ 180 on Amazon.

Note: You might wants to look around on either r/buildapcsales for more deal or r/hardwareswap for used monitor.

Not sure if this helps what you're looking for. But I ordered this over the break, simply for the framerate to dollar price, and honestly for a "casual but not casual" gamer this has been great for me.

u/ChiIIerr · 1 pointr/DestinyTheGame

I guess it kind of depends. Do you have a gaming monitor, mouse, and keyboard already? Strictly PC parts, I'd aim for $1,000 for a 8/10 graphical experience. Your monitor will really decide whether or not it's worth dropping that much since resolution and refresh rate determine a LOT. If you drop that much on a PC and only have a TV or a normal 60Hz 1080p monitor, there's a lot going to waste. Personally, I'd start off with a 144Hz monitor like this one.

I can build you out a PC online for what you're looking for. I just don't know what you might already have and what you need. Some people already have hard drives, some people don't have gaming mice/keyboards, etc.

Just don't underestimate how much CPU power Destiny requires. It is one of the most CPU intensive FPSs that I've seen because of the maps and AI.

Nice build. You don’t need to buy windows. Don’t waste money on that. Also, I’d upgrade the psu to a 650w gold rated, but thats just my opinion. You can probably get away with a 550.

I run a 32 inch at 1920x1080 and it looks great to me. I came from console as well so I don’t know much of the difference. If you’re dead set on 27 inch, here’s a good option. 144hz, 1080p, only a 2ms response time. Honestly, I don’t think you need 1440p. Theres some other good 24 inch monitors out there for good prices.

u/zrsly · 1 pointr/FortniteCompetitive

This is what I got and I love it. It had one stuck pixel but I wiped it with a microfiber cloth and it goes away. Otherwise it's great quality for a 27" 144hz at a pretty good price. That's if you're not dead set on 1440p tho.

u/chugopunk · 1 pointr/buildmeapc

I'd go with used or refurbished on that budget, try Offer Up, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslits or Ebay. If you can extend you budget a lil bit, check out the Acer XFA240 (Has G-Sync for your GTX card), Sceptre C248B-144R or the 27" Dell Gaming LED-Lit Monitor 27" Black (D2719HGF)

This monitor is a steal for the price. I just picked it up for myself after having to give my wife my 2k monitor for her editing rig. And i really can’t speak to non gaming monitors unfortunately because both of mine are gaming monitors due to the fact that I jumped from 23.5 to the 27 inch. But yes I would definitely get a non gaming monitor for a secondary if I were buying both at the same time. Just make sure it’s still a 1080p or there will be a dead spot where the mouse won’t move from screen to screen and anything below 1080 will look like crap with a 1080 sitting next to it.

Do you think that this monitor is a good deal? I don't want to go over $200.

u/coldtires · 1 pointr/xboxone

Yes it does but in your case as your only using the monitor temporarily it should not be a priority. Freesync lowers input lag, smooths frame rates and removes judder, tearing.

Still if you were inclined, there is someone here on Amazon selling a used Dell D2719HGF gaming monitor for $162 or new for $219, that is a good deal. It has a 27" TN panel, built in speakers and an effective Xbox VRR/Freesync range of 20-60Hz or 20-120hz (if 120Hz out works with Xbox), that covers all possible frame-rates of Xbox. [Freesync must be manually enabled in monitor before use.]

Not all Xbox games work with VRR/Freesync the ones that are certified VRR in their capabilities are the ones that work best, it's a small but growing number, those not certified are a mixed bag some will work and others not.

If you forget about Freesync any 1080p monitor with speakers will do, any of those ones you picked out are fine, though the Freesync ranges on cheap monitors are often very limited and useless for Xbox.

this might be good, look in the similar suggestions on amazon, most run about $200-$250 so it shouldn't be too crazy, don't have one of these myself, so can't say about overall reliability, but r/monitors and reviews on amazon might help filter

u/zakabog · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

This 27" Dell display is quite good and only $180. You need to purchase a DisplayPort cable for 144Hz though.

u/radioactivesnot · 1 pointr/buildapc

I saw a similar post like this a few hours ago, three people recommended this, you should check it out.

[Here's the link.] (https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcsales/comments/bd3lnk/monitor_lg_24gl600f_24_1080p_144hz_freesync_tn/) it was for a much more recent LG 24GL600F.

if you want a 27" model, I would go for this one when it's on sale.

EDIT: you can get the LG monitor for close to that sale price on google express, make an account and use the 20% off code. This one should come with monitor and some extras for... some reason? Not sure but I don't get taxed myself. It should come out to $157.

u/SoProTheyGoWoah · 1 pointr/buildapc

I'm thinking of getting

[this](https://www.amazon.com/Dell-D2719HGF-Response-Speakers-FreeSync/dp/B07J4SXNQ5)

as my next monitor (currently using an HP 25es). But I don't seem to find people recommending this at all even though it's cheap and supports G Sync. Any reason why I shouldn't go for this?

Also if you have any other suggestions of a 144hz monitor that's bigger than 25in and under $200 then let me know, I don't want a size downgrade from my current 25in.

I found a beautiful 27" 144hz 1080p Dell monitor for only $180 + tax at time of writing

Are you in the US? This one has good reviews for $200 and has Freesync (G-Sync compatible). This Sceptre monitor also has good reviews for $180, is 144Hz, and is even curved, but some customers have said that they come with a few dead pixels. Amazon's return policy is pretty good, so you might want to try your luck. Here are a few others that you might also want to consider: Dell D2719HGF,Asus VG278Q, AOC G2590FX, and Acer ED273.

EDIT: These are all 1080p.

I’m looking to buy a second monitor, with 144hz. I have two strong competitors at the moment.

This is on sale for $159 to Best Buy members.

I currently have a 28 inch 4K UE510 Samsung, if that affects anything.

u/hyoostin · 1 pointr/techsupport

This is like $5 over your budget but I just upgraded to this. It's 1080 resolution with 144hz refresh rate, 2ms response time. DP, HDMI, and DVI options. I love it.

u/Gladiator5000 · 1 pointr/buildapc

I have this Monitor and it is really good for the price, no height adjustment but it’s 27 inches (bigger then most at this price range) and you could get a VESA mount if you need the height adjustment

Well, I'd prefer to stay under 200. I found a really nice Dell 27" 144 hz. I'm just questioning its compatibility with g-sync with my gtx 1060. I looked at the questions answered and it claims to be. I just need more reassurance.

+a nice keyboard and mouse, either the one you suggested or a different one, not too worried about that.

Here is a gaming monitor, its 144hz and curved which is nice, I'm not familiar with the brand though. But for $160 it seems like a good deal.

Here is a Dell one, it isnt curved but Dell can make some decent gaming monitors and only $180

As for a prebuilt checkout iBuypower or Cyberpower PC they have decent desktops for a decent price I think. You could look at alien ware too but I find that they tend to overprice some of their stuff.

u/ishootforfree · 1 pointr/buildapc

Your monitor is a 60hz QHD, which is a resolution of 2560 x 1440. Your RX 580 will struggle with this. Also it's a 24" monitor, which is too small (imo) to notice the benefits of moving from 1080p to 1440p. For a similar price you can get a 27" Dell D2719HGF which is 1080p 144hz with freesync.

I have the BenQ 2411, it's great but the huge bezel and ugly colors are going to eat away at you if you have anything else better. Never owned the Dell but it seems great.

It's ok. It's well reviewed which is important, but the price is higher than i would go for those specs, and its the biggest absolute budget brand.

It does have speakers integrated which is a nice bonus if you dont have any.

There's no reason to get it over something like this though which is a lot cheaper, bigger, better brand and also has speakers.

But really I don't understand why you are buying a new monitor. you have a 1440p 144hz monitor that may have amd freesync. That's already much better than either of these. Maybe explain your usecase. Also i should clarify that many people at 144hz don't really care about freesync gsync as much, they are mostly beneficial at lower hz.

I think this is the monitor for you. exact size you seem to be wanting, g-sync,1080p, speaker, and 240hz!
https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XF250Q-Cbmiiprx-FREESYNC-Technology/dp/B07G3GRFSZ/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=1080p+240hz&qid=1562783128&s=electronics&sr=1-5
slightly pricier, but it seems like money isn't tight for you, and this would actually offer some benefits over that 1440p 144hz monitor you have.

Though perhaps your real issue is your gpu, and you should spend that money upgrading it, if you are getting poor performance.
