These probably aren't things every DM "should" have but they are cheap and useful:

• Mardi gras dice beads; cut into long strips to throw down wall effects on a map, short pieces to track doorways (and which way they open), single pieces to use a markers for tiny creatures, etc.
  
• Stone counters for invisible characters and such.
  
• 3-D printed spell templates
  
• kneaded rubber erasers to sculpt things on the fly at the table.
  
• Some tokens or condition cards
