You may be interested in reading this book for a quick overview of the future of our society: https://www.amazon.com/Does-Capitalism-Future-Immanuel-Wallerstein/dp/0199330859

Wallerstein, in particular, seems to think that the Great Recession was the second to last economic crisis. With the final economic crisis probably coming sometime within the decade of the 2030's. If we assume that it will follow the same trajectory that the Great Depression did, then we can expect WW3 to occur sometime between 2040-2060 (WW2 occurred a decade after the start of the Great Depression).

So if you start preparing now, maybe you'll make it :)

I read it in this book, Ch. 4, and for the geo-political theory it is referring to Randal Collins. You can try to google his name and 'Soviet Union' to get some more info.
