I own a Dovo Shavette
If I had to do it again, I'd probably buy a Parker SR1 instead. The plastic insert and handle on the Dovo feels a bit cheap and fragile.
I just use a DE blade snapped in half as others have said, although there are special, longer blades available.
I would not recommend someone get a shavette for their first razor instead of a DE, after several attempts I still get little patches of hair I miss especially on my chin. You won't be getting a satisfactory shave or even one equal to a cartridge razor for a while. Although I suppose you'd have the same problem if you jump straight into getting a straight razor as well.
If you watch carefully the razor holding part of the item is hollow and accepts replacement blades. Here is an amazon link for a unit very similar. It takes single edge blades and is very much a 'straight razor'.
I started shaving with a Dovo straight razor shavette about 8 years ago. For blades Merkur or Feather are recommended, I'm on Feather at the moment.
I went with a Basel haired shaving brush and good shaving soap for a while but have found the shaving oils like King of Shaves work best for me.
Wouldn't go back.

Both say that it's a shavette, and a straight razor. Doesn't make sense. Hmm not sure which is the better one.
