They are sets of brushes made specifically for those kinda things. There are different sizes and bristle depending on what you wanna use them for. Here is an example on amazon.
As far as keeping the hose near your mouth while at a desk, microphone stand. Works wonders. If you have a hose anything like HookahJohn Narbish or Nammor Hose, the handle fits perfectly into the microphone clip. Otherwise, there are different sized attachments for the stand you can get. I use the normal microphone clip with a hookahjohn hose.
Cleaning the HMD was tricky for a while, but what i do now is soak in hot water for like 20 minutes, then use barkeeper's friend (Ajax would probably work too) along with this attachment for my drill. Works like a charm
Also, you could put a piece of masking tape or something similar on the base before you empty it to mark the water level. Then refill and remove.

Barkeeper's friend. I would mix it with water and make a paste and apply it to the tub. Let it sit for 10-15 mins and then scrub. Toilet bowl cleaner with bleach on all of it, grout included. Leave it set, then scrub it away with magic erasers. The viscosity and potency of the toilet bowl cleaner will get a lot of that grime that’s caked on.
