You'll want one (or more) of these paired with a couple of 16GB microSD cards. It costs about $25 to get 32GB of space as opposed to about $75 for a 32GB MS Pro Duo card.
You can also get this which is just one of those adapters with two 16GB microSD cards included. The availability and prices change on Amazon all the time, so just search for "ms pro duo microsd" to see what the current best deals are.

This solves ALL your storage problems with the PSP (though I think it can only detect up to 64 GB)
Already exists for the sony proprietary sticks, probably exists for SD somewhere too.

Works great in my PSP.
Not really, buy two of these and one of these and you can get 32gb of storage for 18.38$ excluding shipping.
edit: Wait, nvm I'm wrong and just assumed it used pro duo like the PSP. I was seriously debating buy a vita, but now...

Here ya go.
Dual SD to Pro Duo adapter
Pro Duo to USB adapter
I got one of these, then 2pack of 32gb microSDHC cards at newegg for $25 or so. Worked out cheaper that way. My laptop has a microSD card reader, so I don't really need the USB adapter.

I just recently got one from Ebay, you can try there. I'm sure the preowned from Gamestop are fine as well.
As far as memory..my recommendation is to pick up (2) of these http://www.amazon.com/Sandisk-16GB-MicroSDHC-Memory-Class/dp/B001F7AJKI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1334935355&sr=8-1
and (1) of these http://www.amazon.com/MicroSD-MicroSDHC-Adapter-Converts-Cards/dp/B001RPEJA4/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1334935402&sr=1-1
this will work great in the PSP 3000 and will save you alot of money as compared to just getting a 32gb pro duo card.
Here's a sweet adapter, I THINK this is what people are talking about in this thread.

Those work just fine. A couple MicroSD cards tend to be a bit cheaper than an MS Pro Duo by itself.
[BAM!]
(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004G60AD6/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and [BAM!]

Seconding the dual adapter. Have only been using mine with 1 micro SD (never got around to buying the second) but it works fine for me.
It either will work or it will not. Sometimes adapters come defective or fail.
I can tell you that I ordered this one...

...and it works fine with this card...

I think I need more time with these to give a review. I relied on the reviews of others and made an informed decision.
I'm pretty darn sure cutting a memory card down to size would just destroy it. You're going to need some kind of memory stick to put in there if you want to play downloaded games or install cfw. You can get a standard memory stick for the psp, or you can get the microsd to memory stick duo converter. Amazon link.
I use a PSP and it works just fine once you crack it. Get yourself one of these and a couple micro SD cards, and you can reasonably hold 32 GB worth of games on the psp.
this guide here got me going with my psp 2001. it gets you the most up to date custom firmware. from there, install emulators, homebrew, do whatever you want. i mostly use my psp for NES games and a few select psp ISOs.
oh, also i'd recommend grabbing one of these. i popped two 16gb microSDs in mine, and 32gb seems like JUST the right amount of space for the psp. 64 would be ridiculous, but still, i understand it will work with two 32gb microSDs.
Here's the way I ended up doing it:
I bought The adapter
and a 32gb card
That way down the road if I want to I can add another 32gb card to get 64gb of memory.
It's the same price (actually slightly cheaper) and you have future chance of upgrading to the max memory.
Not on a USB stick, however you can use a cheap adapter to play games on a micro SD card instead of having to buy Sony's over priced junk.
This is the one I use. If you search amazon you can also find sets that include the adpater, a microsd card and a USB reader all in one for less than the cost of an 8gb memory duo.
I use one of these (http://www.amazon.com/MicroSD-MicroSDHC-Adapter-Converts-Cards/dp/B001RPEJA4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396117980&sr=8-1&keywords=dual+micro+sd+adapter ) and two 64GB cards for mine. I have a few friends who do the same.
Ignoring price, would it be better to use two 16 GB cards simultaneously or one 32 GB card and one empty slot?
Also, is there any difference between the adapter you linked and this one?
Thank you so much!
I purchased this adapter here, and at the time 16 GB SD cards were $4.16 (I will always remember that specific number). I ended up buying three for my PSP and phone.
This with this or this.
The price has to be pretty damn close to be cheaper than this.
Note: Do your research, this is a link to the first result in my search, not an endorsement of the specific item. I bought mine from someone else on Amazon, but the plastic cracked (Functionality was fine).
